OVERVIEW
The AV Advanced PowerTap+ reduces active and standby power loss in audiovisual (AV) home entertainment centers by detecting when the TV and AV peripheral electronics are not being used and turning them off. The AV Advanced PowerTap+ features a highly-accurate sensor that detects infrared (IR) remote control activity and motion to determine whether the TV is being used. If no IR remote control activity or motion is detected within the countdown timer period, the power tap automatically powers down the TV and peripheral AV electronics plugged into the switched outlets.

- Includes a receptacle wall-mounting screw for more permanent applications
- Supports high-level Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) commands via optional TAV-Link™ cable (sold separately) that connects from the Multi-sensor to an HDMI port on the TV
FIREPROOF SURGE PROTECTION
Traditional surge suppression products use standard Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) components. rickleStar’s AV Advanced PowerTap+ incorporates advanced surge protection technology with ceramic-encased MOVs capable of suppressing more energy and dissipating heat faster than traditional MOVs.
Ceramic-encased MOVs have better thermal properties and have a lifespan up to
three times longer than standard MOVs. The ceramic casing is fireproof and
therefore capable of preventing fire during abnormal surge
conditions.
TAV-LINK™ MULTI-SENSOR
The TAV-Link Multi-sensor detects IR remote control signals and motion. It features an intelligent algorithm that first considers IR remote signals and then looks for both IR remote signals and motion if no IR commands are detected. Additional features include:
- LED notification that flashes when IR activity or motion is detected
- Continuous dual-color (red/blue) flashing LED alert notification that activates ten minutes prior to shutdown
- Optional soft-chirping piezo buzzer that alerts the user of a pending shutdown ten minutes and three minutes prior to shutdown
- Manual on/off button
- Supports high-level CEC commands via optional TAV-Link cable that allow “smart” TVs to safely store their data and settings prior to powering down
- TAV-Link functionality that allows gaming consoles to enter an energy-saving mode earlier and without any corruption of data
