COMPLIANT COMPLIES WITH ASTM SAFETY STANDARDS
GOGGLES ARE FOR PAINTBALL ACTIVITIES AND NOT FOR INDUSTRIAL USE
GOGGLE FIT
HEAD SIZE: ADJUSTABLE ONE SIZE FITS MOST GOGGLES MUST FIT PROPERLY TO
PROVIDE COMPLETE PROTECTION.
Proper fit includes:
- Tighten the straps enough to hold the goggle firmly in place.
- Make sure the goggle foam seals around the face.
WARNING: Use only JT Spectra Lenses designed specifically for the JT Goggles
WARNING: Call JT Paintball for a replacement strap if the strap becomes stretched out. Serious injury or death could occur if the strap is not properly tightened. Mask should always have a tight fit, if the strap cannot be tightened properly, do not wear a mask.
LENS REPLACEMENT
TO REMOVE THE LENS
STEP 1. While looking inside the mask, move the locking clip rearward to
the “unlocked position”, by lifting up on the tab and pushing the Lock clip.
(See Illustration A)
STEP 2. Now do the same on the opposite side. Both the left and right
side lock clips will be in the “unlocked position”. Note the lock clips are
not removed from the mask.
STEP 3. While holding the mask with one hand, grasp the side of the frame with your free hand exposing the outer frame prongs. Do the same for the opposite side and remove the outer frame from the goggle system. (See Illustration B)
STEP 4. With the outer frame removed from the mask, the lens can be
removed from the goggle. (See Illustration C)
TO INSTALL THE LENS
STEP 1. Before installing the lens, clean any debris that might be on the
lens or in the lens cavity. Only use JT Majik™ spray to clean the lens. STEP 2. Place JT Spectra lens in goggle.
Make sure lens tabs are placed in tab cavities on goggles. (See Illustration
D)
STEP 3. Holding the goggle in
one hand, place the outer lens frame on the goggle, sandwiching the lens
between the goggle and the outer lens frame. Make sure outer lens frame prongs
glide smoothly into the goggle. (See Illustration E)
STEP 4. While looking inside the mask, move the locking clip forward to
the “locked position”, by lifting up on the tab and pushing the strap clip.
Repeat for the other side.
WARNING: STRAP CLIPS MUST BE CHECKED FOR POSITIVE LOCK PRIOR TO USE. CLIP
SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY SIDE-TO-SIDE PLAY OR FORWARD MOVEMENT WHILE ENGAGED.
FAILURE TO PROPERLY ENGAGE STRAP CLIPS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF EYESIGHT OR EVEN
DEATH.
WARNING: Be sure that both ends of the lens and the lens tabs enter their
corresponding cavities before installing the outer lens frame and locking the
system into place. This can be verified by attempting to slide the lens from
left to right. The lens should not shift. Once the lens is properly placed
inside the goggle, the outer lens frame can be installed and locked into
place. The locking tabs must be aligned with the arrows on the prongs to
confirm a positive lock of the lens. (See Illustration F)
WARNING: Lens should be replaced after taking a direct hit or after a
year of use, whichever comes first. Check lens prior to use. If any cracks or
lines are present, the lens will need to be replaced. Failure to replace
cracked lenses could cause loss of eyesight or death.
WARNING: Improper cleaning will cause anti-fog properties to wear out.
Anti-fog is dependent on many variables including weather.
Anti-fog lenses do not prevent all fog and by no means should be taken as fog-
proof lenses.
PRO-CHANGE REMOVABLE FOAM
The JT PRO-CHANGE allows the user to remove and upgrade the foam
STEP 1. Holding the
mask with one hand, firmly grasp the foam and plastic frame of the foam and
pull away from the goggle.
All prongs will release from the goggle, separating the face foam from the
goggle. (See Illustration G).
STEP 2. To re-install – line all prongs to corresponding holes and press
foam into the goggle. Make sure the foam is secured and does not move. Doing
so will ensure a positive installation.
WARNING: PRO-CHANGE FACE FOAM MUST BE PROPERLY INSTALLED PRIOR TO USE.
FAILURE TO PROPERLY INSTALL OR USE PRO-CHANGE FOAM COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
CHIN STRAP
Not using the chinstrap and or buckle increases your risk of injury or death and will void your warranty. Use Chinstrap at all times. To properly fasten the buckle, insert the “male prongs” into the corresponding “female portion” until you hear and feel an audible “click”. Adjust the strap to contact snugly under your chin.(See Illustration H) Unfastening the buckle is accomplished by squeezing the right and left edges of the male prongs until they’re automatically ejected from the corresponding female portion. (See Illustration I).
WARNING!
FOLLOW THESE 10 RULES FOR SAFE PLAY
- WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions or failure to follow all these warnings may result in serious or permanent injury, including blindness.
- WARNING: Never remove your goggles while on a paintball playing field.
- WARNING: Always wear your goggles whenever shooting a paintball marker (gun), or whenever in or near an area where paint markers (guns) are being shot by others.
- WARNING: All paintball markers (guns) must be chronographed (measured for speed). Do not play with these JT goggles or any goggles if the speed of paintball markers (guns) exceeds 300 feet per second (90 meters per second). Observe at all times the rules of safe play and safe paintball marker (gun) handling.
- WARNING: Always wear the entire JT goggle system, which includes face and ear protection. A goggle strap alone is not an ear protector.
- WARNING: Check your goggle lens before and after each usage. Replace the lens immediately with a new JT lens if any cracks are observed anywhere in the lens.
- WARNING: Replace the lens immediately if the lens is subjected to a direct impact from a paintball from a distance of fewer than 10 feet.
- WARNING: Replace the lens after it has been in use for one year.
- WARNING: Fogging may occur. Never remove your goggles during play even if fogging occurs.
- WARNING: Only .68 caliber paintballs that comply with ASTM F1979 should be used with this goggle system. Goggles are for Paintball activities only and not for industrial use.
NEVER REMOVE YOUR GOGGLES IN AN ACTIVE PAINTBALL AREA.
- NEVER take off or lift the JT GOGGLE/MASK system from your face for any reason while you are in an active paintball area – even if you’re not playing! If you take the goggle/mask system off your face, it cannot protect you! Always use a barrel plug in your gun when not in use.
- ALWAYS follow all cleaning and user instructions exactly. Improper use or maintenance of the JT GOGGLE/MASK system may result in serious eye injury or blindness.
- Do not play or use JT Goggles if paintball velocities exceed 300 feet | per second.
- ALWAYS check each lens to be sure the lens is locked firmly into place before every game you play.
- ALWAYS check each lens for damage before every game you play.
- IMMEDIATELY replace any lens that is hit within ten (10) feet or less even if you can’t see the damage.
- ALWAYS replace each lens at least once per year.
LENS CARE INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION: READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY FOR ALL CARE AND
CLEANING OF JT PAINTBALL GOGGLE LENSES!
IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THESE INSTRUCTIONS, CALL JT
AT800-220-3222
JT Paintball lenses are made from aerospace polycarbonate, the strongest
optical material known.
IMPORTANT: YOU NEED TO KNOW that the lenses will deteriorate, weaken and
possibly break if you don’t clean them exactly as instructed every time you
use them. Proper cleaning is the only way to keep the lenses strong and
“paintball proof”. Follow these instructions:
-
ALWAYS CLEAN JT LENSES WITH PLAIN WATER OR JT ANTI-FOG LENS CLEANER! NEVER use anything else. WARNING: Never use cleaners such
as Windex®, 409®, Simple Green®, Fantastic®, Gasoline, Kerosene, etc.
The strong chemicals will attack the lens and cause it to break. If your JT lens contacts any chemical substance or chemical fumes, THROW IT AWAY.
Replace it with a new JT lens for your protection! NEVER take chances. -
ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR JT GOGGLE AND LENS EVERY TIME YOU USE IT! Take your goggle apart by taking the lens out of the goggle frame. Wash all paint from the lens, the goggle frame, and inside the goggle frame gutter with plain water. Carefully check the gutter that holds the lens because the paint will collect here and attack the lens. Even if you think it is clean, always wash each piece and dry completely before you put the goggle back together.
NEVER let any paint or paint spray stay on your goggle overnight.
A. SINGLE LENS: Take the single-lens out of the goggle frame and wash it with warm water only. You can dry your lens and avoid scratching it by using JT Microfiber Lens Cloth or soft cotton cloth. NEVER use paper towels, newspaper, etc. Polycarbonate scratches easily so be careful.
B. THERMAL LENS: Take the Thermal lens out of the goggle frame and gently dab the lens with a damp JT Microfiber Lens cloth or a soft cotton cloth.
NEVER submerge this dual-lens in water. NEVER scrub the soft inner lens.
NEVER apply any form of fog-resistant solution to the inner lens. -
ONLY USE JT ANTI-FOG LENS CLEANER! NEVER use any other brand of fog-resistant spray-on JT lenses as they may contain chemicals that will damage the lens. Spray JT Anti-Fog Lens Cleaner on a single lens only, spread evenly, and allow to dry. When Lens is dry, buff gently with a JT Microfiber Lens cloth or a soft cotton cloth. Don’t over-polish the lens or it will remove the fog-resistant protection.
WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED FOG SPRAYS AND CLEANERS MAY HAVE CHEMICALS THAT WILL DESTROY JT LENSES. JT ANTI-FOG LENS CLEANER IS AN APPROVED CLEANER. -
NEVER STORE YOUR JT GOGGLES OR LENSES NEAR CHEMICALS OR FUMES! Gasoline fumes, common cleaning solutions, and most detergents
will damage JT Goggles and lenses. ALWAYS store your goggles in a cool, dry place free from all chemicals and fumes. -
NEVER STORE YOUR JT GOGGLES OR LENSES IN HOT PLACES OR NEAR HEAT SOURCES! High temperatures will damage JT Goggles and lenses.
NEVER keep in car trunks, in plastic bags laying in direct sunlight, near heaters, stoves, or other hot places. ALWAYS store goggles in a cool, dry place free of all chemicals and fumes. -
CAUTION: BE ON THE ALERT! ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR LENSES AND GOGGLES BEFORE EVERY GAME YOU PLAY.
A. ALWAYS REPLACE LENSES IMMEDIATELY IF SMALL CRACKS APPEAR.
Check your goggle for small cracks each time before you play. Replace if any cracks are found.
B. ALWAYS replace lenses every time they are Shot within10 feet by a paintball, even if you can’t see any cracks or damage.
C. ALWAYS replace lenses ONCE PER year, beginning with your date of purchase. -
ALWAYS INSPECT JT GOGGLES THAT YOU ARE RENTING FROM A FIELD. NEVER ASSUME THAT THE FIELD OWNER HAS PROPERLY MAINTAINED JT GOGGLES OR LENSES. IF YOU DETECT CRACKS, PAINT, OR OBVIOUS MAINTENANCE FAILURE, RETURN THEM TO THE FIELD OWNER AND DO NOT RENT THEM.
