JVCU Series Companion App
With the Companion App, you can enhance your conference calls with Ultra HD 4K video calling. It allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and sharpness for your video calls.

Download and install the JVCU Series Companion App from the j5create website:

An icon will appear on the desktop or at the bottom right within the toolbar after the app has fi nished installing.
Plug in the webcam, it will then show the window below.
PTZ control
Drag the orange dot on the bar below the video to the right to zoom in, and to
the left
to zoom back out. After zooming in, arrows should appear like in the example
below.
You can pan the display up, down, left, or right by clicking on the
corresponding arrow.
Advanced settings
Click the “Advanced settings” on the right side of the screen to bring up additional settings for changing the color and brightness.You can pan the display up, down, left, or right by clicking on the corresponding arrow.
Using the Companion App with other camera apps
If you want to run other software that utilizes the JVCU camera within Windows®, click the camera icon within the JVCU Series Companion App (this feature is not available within macOS® because macOS® allows the use of multiple camera applications at the same time).
When you click the camera icon, the JVCU Series Companion App will shrink to a miniature version of the app. You can enlarge the JVCU Series Companion App back to its original size by clicking on the camera icon circled in the picture below.
The PTZ control and advanced settings will appear in the mini control bar like in the example below.
Start a video call with the JVCU435
Ensure your PC, Mac®, or Chromebook™ has internet service, and that both you and the person you are calling are using a video calling application (E.g. Zoom™, Microsoft Teams™, etc.). Select the correct video device and microphone in the settings menu of the video calling application.
- The JVCU435 provides 4K video calling. For optimal performance a network connection with a minimum upload speed of 8 Mbps is recommended.
- 4K calling may be aff ected by available network bandwidth, CPU speed, type of video calling application, etc.
- Wide Compatibility: Zoom™, Google™ Hangouts™, Skype™, Microsoft Teams™, etc.
- For Windows® 10
- Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera/Microphone
- Choose your preferred settings to allow apps to access your camera and microphone.
- Turn on your camera and microphone for your preferred apps.
Privacy settings for macOS®
- On your Mac® choose the Apple® menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy.
- Select Camera/Microphone.
- Select the checkbox next to an app to allow it to access the camera and microphone. Deselect the Checkbox to turn off access for that app. If you turn off access for an app, you will be asked to turn it on again the next time that app tries to use your camera or microphone.

Limited warranty
j5create offers a limited 1-year warranty. User’s wear & tear damage is not
included. The user shall call or email j5create customer service with the
defect information of the product and obtain a return authorization number.
Users are responsible for one-way return freight cost and we will take care of
one-way freight back.
In order to obtain a return authorization number, users should have the
following information handy when calling or emailing the service team:
- a copy of the original purchase invoice to verify your warranty
- a product serial number
- a description of the problem
- customer’s name, address, and telephone number
j5create does not warrant that the operation of the product will be uninterrupted or error-free. j5create is not responsible for damage arising from failure to follow instructions relating to the product’s use. This warranty does not apply to:
- consumable parts, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
- cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic on ports;
- damage caused by use with non-j5create products;
- damage caused by natural disasters;
- damage caused by human misuse (lost, accident, abuse, misuse or other external causes);
- damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by j5create;
- damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of j5create or a j5create Authorized Service Provider;
- a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of j5create; or
- if any j5create serial number on the product has been removed or defaced. If such a situation occurs, j5create will calculate the cost of materials and repair for your reference. This warranty is given by j5create in lieu of any other warranties expressed or implied.
LIMITATION OF WARRANTY
THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM STATE TO STATE (OR BY COUNTRY OR PROVINCE). OTHER THAN AS PERMITTED BY LAW, J5CREATE DOES NOT EXCLUDE, LIMIT OR SUSPEND OTHER RIGHTS YOU MAY HAVE, INCLUDING THOSE THAT MAY ARISE FROM THE NONCONFORMITY OF A SALES CONTRACT. FOR A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR RIGHTS YOU SHOULD CONSULT THE LAWS OF YOUR COUNTRY, PROVINCE OR STATE.
