Chroma Key Function Guide
- Special note: The Chroma Key application is only compatible with Windows® 7 / 10

Function Description:

Chroma Key Top : The chromatic value can be changed manually by dragging the slider, scrolling the mouse wheel, using the up and down arrow keys or typing the value into the box.

Chroma Key Bottom : The chromatic value can be changed manually by dragging the slider, scrolling the mouse wheel, using the up and down arrow keys or typing the value into the box.

Chroma Key – Reference value
The value listed here is the sample YCbCr value that was taken by the [PEN] tool. -
Chroma Key -Sampling Tool
After clicking [PEN], you can press the left mouse button anywhere on the screen to get the color information of that point. -
RGB reference
Converts the corresponding YCbCr to RGB reference. -
Read button
Reads the Chroma Key Top and Bottom values from the JVA06 device. -
Set button
Writes the Chroma Key Top and Bottom values from the settings tool to the JVA06 device. -
Firmware version
Displays the firmware version of the JVA06. -
Result
Operation message notification.
Chroma Key Top and Bottom Settings Instructions
✽The Top value must be greater than the reference value
✽The Bottom value must be smaller than the reference value
✽In most cases the Y range needs to be larger
✽This example is for reference only, users can try different values or fine-
tune the values to achieve the best results.
Step-by-Step Operating Procedure
- Connect one of the included USB™ cables to either a USB-C™ or Type-A port on the computer and to the USB-C™ port on the JVA06 labeled [HOST]
- Connect the signal source to [HDMI In A] as the base image, and connect the signal source to [HDMI In B] to remove the background.
- Open a video capture application, such as OBS™, Windows® built-in camera software, VLC™ etc., and change the settings within your video capture application so that the video captured from the JVA06 displays within the capture application (refer to the settings guide for the capture software you are using)
- Press the [AB] button on the device to set the video mode to [AB] picture-in-picture.
- Open the JVA06-EFP2 Settings Tool.
- After clicking the [Pen] sampling tool, move the mouse to the place where you want to remove the background in the image preview window, click the left mouse button, and the program will automatically fill in the pixel information in the Top and Bottom and reference fields.
- Manually adjust the value of the Top and Bottom settings.
- Press the [Set] button to write the set values into the device.
- Press the [AB] + [BA] keys on the device at the same time for 2 seconds; the screen will display [CHROMAKEY ON]. At this time, the picture displayed should show a chroma keying effect. (To achieve the best results, repeat steps 7 and 8)
- Press the [AB]+[BA] keys on the device at the same time for 2 seconds, the screen will display [CHROMAKEY OFF]. This will remove the chroma keying effect so that the original image is displayed again.
< Notes>
✽The Top and Bottom values will be stored in the JVA06 device.
✽Chroma Key On/Off values will not be stored, it will be Off every time it is
turned on, and will need to be turned on manually.
✽The device capturing the background that needs to be hidden, needs to be
connected to [HDMI In B].
Image Mode Description
✽If the [HDMI In B] screen appears, the [HDMI In A] screen will retain the size of the previous mode
Button Settings
Users can set the function of the [A] and [B] keys on the JVA06 through the Button Settings function.
Mode description
Normal Mode:
- The screen will switch to [HDMI In A] after pressing the [A] key, and the screen will remain at [HDMI In A] after pressing the [A] key again.
- The screen will switch to [HDMI In B] after pressing the [B] key, and the screen will remain at [HDMI In B] after pressing the [B] key again.
Loopback Mode:
- Press the [A] key and the screen will switch to [HDMI In A], and press the [A] key again and the screen will switch to [HDMI In B].
- Press the [B] key and the screen will switch to [HDMI In B], press the [B] key again and the screen will switch to [HDMI In A].
Background Color Settings
The solid color background from the JVA06 can be changed through these settings.
Switch mode description
Follow Chroma Key On/Off:
- When the Chroma Key is activated, the background color will change to the color specified by the user.
- When the Chroma Key is turned off, the background color will change to black.
Always On: * The background always keeps the color specified by the user

LIMITED WARRANTY
j5create offers a limited 2-year warranty. User’s wear & tear damage is not included. The user shall call or email j5create customer service with the defect information of the product and obtain a return authorization number. Users are responsible for one-way return freight cost and we will take care of one-way freight back. In order to obtain a return authorization number, users should have the following information handy when calling or emailing the service team:
(i) a copy of the original purchase invoice to verify your warranty
(ii) a product serial number
(iii) a description of the problem
(iv) customer’s name, address, and telephone number
j5create does not warrant that the operation of the product will be uninterrupted or error-free. j5create is not responsible for damage arising from failure to follow instructions relating to the product’s use. This warranty does not apply to: (a) consumable parts, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic on ports; (c) damage caused by use with non-j5create products; (d) damage caused by natural disasters; (e) damage caused by human misuse (lost, accident, abuse, misuse or other external causes); (f) damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by j5create; (g) damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of j5create or a j5create Authorized Service Provider; (h) a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of j5create; or (i) if any j5create serial number on the product has been removed or defaced. If such a situation occurs, j5create will calculate the cost of materials and repair for your reference. This warranty is given by j5create in lieu of any other warranties expressed or implied.

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM STATE TO STATE (OR BY COUNTRY OR PROVINCE). OTHER THAN AS PERMITTED BY LAW, J5CREATE DOES NOT EXCLUDE, LIMIT OR SUSPEND OTHER RIGHTS YOU MAY HAVE, INCLUDING THOSE THAT MAY ARISE FROM THE NONCONFORMITY OF A SALES CONTRACT.
