Quick Guide

ANALYSIS

PROCEDURE

  1. Fill Water Sample Collecting Bottle (0688) with sample water.
  2. Press and hold until colorimeter turns on.
  3. Press to select Testing Menu.
  4. Scroll to and select 089 Sulfate HR from menu.
  5. Rinse tube (0290) with sample water. Fill to the 10 mL line. Cap and wipe dry.
  6. Insert tube. Close lid. Select Scan Blank.
  7. Remove tube from colorimeter. Use 0.1 g spoon (0699) to add one measure of *Sulfate Reagent (V-6277).
  8. Cap and shake vigorouslly for 15 seconds. A white precipitate will develop if sulfates are present.
  9. Wait 5 minutes. Invert tube to mix again. Wipe tube dry.
  10. Insert tube into chamber. Close lid. Select Scan Sample. Record result as SULFATE.

CALIBRATION

Standards
Calibrate meter with sulfate standards. Use a distilled or deionized water blank and one sulfate standard of known concentration.

PROCEDURE

  1. Press and hold until colorimeter turns on.
  2. Press to select Testing Menu.
  3. Scroll to and select 089 Sulfate HR from menu.
  4. Rinse tube (0290) three times with the standard. Fill the tube to the 10 mL line. Cap tube. Dry tube.
  5. Insert tube. Close lid. Select Scan Blank.
  6. Remove tube from colorimeter. Use 0.1 g spoon (0699) to add one measure of *Sulfate Reagent (V-6277).
  7. Cap and shake vigorouslly for 15 seconds. A white precipitate will develop if sulfates are present.
  8. Wait 5 minutes. Invert tube to mix again. Wipe tube dry.
  9. Insert tube. Close lid. Select Scan Sample.
  10. Press to scroll to Calibrate.
  11. Press to select Calibrate.
  12. Press or    standard. to scroll to the concentration of the
  13. Press to save the value. Press  and at any time to return to the default value.

WARNING: Only use the USB cable (1720-01) that is supplied with the kit. Make no substitutions.
