LaMotte DC1500 UDV Absorbance Colorimeter Lab User Guide
ANALYSIS
PROCEDURE
- Fill Water Sample Collecting Bottle (0688) with sample water.
- Press and hold until colorimeter turns on.
- Press to select Testing Menu.
- Scroll to and select 103 Absorbance 568 from menu.
- Use syringe (1184) to rinse and fill an empty vial (29653) with
- mL sample water. Wipe vial dry with lint-free cloth.
- Insert vial into chamber, close lid and select Scan Blank.
- React a sample following the individual test procedure.
- Wipe vial dry with a lint-free cloth.
- Insert vial into chamber. Close lid. Select Scan Sample. Record result.

CALIBRATION
Standards
Calibrate meter with standard solutions of the factor to be tested at known concentrations. Use a distilled or deionized water blank.
PROCEDURE

Prepare 5 or 6 standard solutions of the factor to be tested.
The concentration of the standards should be evenly distributed throughout the range of the reagent system and should include a 0 ppm standard. -
Press and hold until colorimeter turns on.

Press to select Testing Menu.

Scroll to and select 103 Absorbance 568 from menu.

Use syringe (1184) to rinse and fill an empty vial (29653) with

mL of standard solution. Wipe vial dry with lint-free cloth.

Insert vial into chamber, close lid and select Scan Blank.

React the standard solution following the individual test procedure.

Wipe vial dry with a lint-free cloth.

Insert vial into chamber. Close lid. Select Scan Sample. Record result.

Repeat Steps 5-9 for the remaining standard solutions.

Plot the results.

Draw a line or curve of best fit through the plotted points.

NOTE: Use the AC wall adapter to rapidly charge the meter. Reinsert the USB port plug after charging.
WARNING: Only use the USB cable (1720-01) that is supplied with the kit. Make no substitutions.
