Warranty

mo-vis bv warrants the product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years under proper use, care and service. The dealer should never keep mo-vis products in stock for a period more than 6 months prior to delivery to the end-user. mo-vis’ warranty will never exceed a period of 2 years and 6 months after shipment. All warranties do not extend beyond the initial purchaser from an authorized mo-vis dealer or mo-vis itself.
Repair and replacement
For warranty service, contact your dealer (or us if bought directly). In the event of a defect in material or workmanship, the dealer or customer must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from us. The product must be shipped to a service centre designated by mo-vis. mo-vis will repair or, at mo-vis’ option, replace any product covered by the warranty.
Amendments
No person is authorized to alter, extend or waive the warranties of mo-vis.
Disclaimer and limitations of remedies
The express warranties set forth in this agreement are in lieu of all other warranties of merchantability or fitness of purpose. In no event shall movis be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from any defect in this product.
Warranty of parts subject to “normal wear and tear” (e.g. joystick handles, pads, …) are not covered in the warranty except as it applies to defects in material or construction.
Voiding of warranties
The foregoing warranties are contingent upon the proper installation, use, maintenance and care of the product. The warranty will be void if the product has been installed or used improperly, or if it has been repaired or any part replaced by persons other than mo-vis or an authorized dealer. This product is considered as a non-serviceable part. The addition of equipment or features that are not manufactured or recommended by mo-vis could affect the intended function of the mo-visproduct and may invalidate the warranty.

Important information

CAUTION: Incorrect use or installation may lead to risk of injury to the user and damage to the wheelchair or other property. In order to reduce these risks, you should carefully read this installation manual, paying particular attention to the safety instructions and warning texts.
NOTICE: Only install this product on a wheelchair where the wheelchair manufacturer allows the installation of third party parts.

Warranty

Scrapping & recycling
CAUTION: For scrapping, adhere to your local waste legislation. Dispose of obsolete electronic parts responsibly in accordance with local recycling regulations.

Intended use

The Twister:

  • is an Input Control System for a device to be operated by a push button with a 3.5 mm jack connection ( e.g. power wheelchair or AAC device).
  • only requires a light activation force of 30 gr.
  • offers different mounting options for the different models.

CAUTION: To make sure that the device maintains its functionality, regular cleaning is required. See Cleaning on page 23 .
CAUTION: This device is only intended to support auxiliary wheelchair functions.
Features
The Twister:

  • requires 30 gr of activation force.
  • has an activation surface of 18 mm and 0.5 distance to activation.
  • offers tactile and auditory (click) feedback.
  • is available in 5 different models. See Parts and accessories on page 16 .
  • is easy to mount in different positions, using the mo-vis Q2M system.
  • has a 3.5 mm mono jack plug.
  • is available in 5 colours: yellow, green, red, blue and black.

Operation

The Twister is a normally open switch. This means that it will activate when pressed down.
To activate your Twister, simply press anywhere on the cap of the device. You will feel and hear a clear and audible ‘click’.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to open or disassemble the device enclosure.
NOTE: Do not pull or wrap the cable around the device.

Twister Basic
The Twister Basiccan be mounted on a plate of metal/plastic with two screws or can be integrated in a tray or other flat surface.

Twister Button
The Twister Basic is mounted in a plastic holder with a diameter of 30 mm/1.18 in to create a Twister Button.
The screw holes in the base plate are reinforced to attach the button firmly to a flat surface. The hole diameter is 2.5 mm/0.098 in and the distance between them is 8 mm/0.315 in.
The Twister Button is delivered with a set of easy-to-install and durable mounting pieces.
The Twister Button package consists of the following parts:

Twister on Bended Tube
The Twister is attached to a mo-vis Q2M bended tube (length 10 cm/3.94 in diameter 6 mm/0.236 in).
The Twister on Bended Tube can be mounted with the included Q2M clamps to attach to other rods or the power chair.

Satellite Twister
The Satellite Twister is attached to a mo-vis Q2M bended tube (length 10 cm/3.94 in – diameter 6 mm/0.236 in).
The Satellite Twister is equipped with an insert to mount it on a mo-vis Allround (Light) Joystick.
NOTE: The Satellite Twister is only available with a short cable (300 mm).

Twister Gooseneck
The Twister Gooseneck consists of a Twister Basic mounted on a flexible of 400 mm/15.75 in.
NOTE: The Twister Gooseneck is only available with a long cable (1500 mm).
The Twister Gooseneck can easily be mounted with a Q2M 8 mm clamp (e.g. M004-14 Q2M Clamp D8, set = 10 pcs). The base of the Twister Gooseneck also fits perfectly in the M007-01 Q2M Universal Clamp and makes mounting on wheelchair tubes simple and easy (as seen in the picture below).

Cleaning
Regular maintenance of the device is required. Before you do this, always disconnect the device.

  • Gently remove dust and dirt with a damp cloth.
  • Use only non-aggressive disinfectant cleaning agents.

CAUTION: Do not immerse in water or use excessive amounts of liquid.
CAUTION: Make sure the button stays clean so activation remains possible at all times.
CAUTION: If the button is damaged, it must be replaced immediately to ensure correct functionality.

mo-vis accepts no liability for personal injury or damage to property that may arise from the failure of the user or other persons to follow the recommendation, warnings and instructions in this manual.
CAUTION: This product should only be installed by a qualified service engineer.
