Operating Instructions
Thank you for choosing Hama product.
Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely.
Please keep these instructions in a safe place for futurereference. If you
sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new owner.
»PA-506« Stereo Audio Preamplifier to connect record players with magnetic
pick-up systems to high-level inputs. Record players are no longer compatible
with many of the new stereo amplifiers. The »PA-506« preamplifier also allows
the use of normal high-level inputs (LINE, AUX, CD, Tuner, Tape, etc.) as
extra-record player input. Moreover, the »PA-506« enables the connection of
the record player to a PC sound card. The» PA-506« features built-in RIAA
equalization.

Safety Notes
- The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Use the product for its intended purpose only.
- Donot use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Donot use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
- Donot use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
- Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture, and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.

Risk of electric shock

Operation
Warning
- Connect the product only to a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
- Disconnect the product from the network using the power button –if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- When using a multi-socket power strip, make surethat the power draw of all the connected devices does not exceed its maximum throughput rating.
- If you will not be using the product for a long period of time, disconnect it from mains power.
Note
- Ensure correct polarity when using plug-in mains adapter, otherwise, the device could be damaged.
- Lay all cables so that they do not pose a tripping hazard.
- Donot bend or crush the cable.
- Connect the left and right channel of the record player with the corresponding left and right channel of the preamplifier input (MM/Input).
- Check that the record player has an amagnetic pick-up. Any separate chassis earthing cable on the record player must be connected to the additional screw at the back of the device.
- Connect the left and right channel of the preamplifier output with the corresponding left and right channel of the stereo amplifier input (LINE, AUX, CD, Tuner, Tape, etc.).
- Then connect the »PA-506« preamplifier to the power supply. The record player and amplifier can now be used in a customary manner. Please check that the correct input on the stereo amplifier has been selected.
Care and Maintenance
Note
Disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning it or if it is not
going to be used for a long period of time.
Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use
aggressive cleaning agents.
