To get the most of your speaker system, please take a few minutes to read the following instructions and familiarize yourself with the operation of the unit. Before setting up the device, make sure that the following  items are included in the box:

Unpack your unit carefully. We recommend that you save the box and all original packing materials, in case you wish to store the unit, or if you ever need to return it for service.

Description

1. LED display| This screen displays the selected input mode: Bluetooth®, USB, Aux, MicroSD™ and FM, the volume level, the track being played, and the selected channel.
Note: Remove the plastic film protector from the LED display before using the loudspeaker.
2. USB port| Enables audio playback from MP3 and WMA music files stored in a USB flash drive.
3. MicroSD™ (TF) card slot| Enables audio playback from MP3 and WMA music files stored in a  MicroSD™ card (maximum 32GB).
4. Media panel| Allows the selection and control of the available audio sources. Line-In, Bluetooth®, MicroSD™, USB, and FM tuner. The mode symbol lights up when the selected source is being played (USB, BLUE, SD, LINE).
4a. Mode/LED button M/| Press this button to cycle through the different audio modes: Line-In, Bluetooth®, FM, USB, and SD™.
Note: the USB and SD™ sources need to be connected to be recognized by the unit to follow this sequence. If these sources are not connected, they will not be recognized as an input source on the display.
Press and hold this button to turn ON/OFF the LED lights.
4b. Button | In USB, MicroSD™, or Bluetooth®mode, press this button to start and pause media.
In FM mode, press and hold to initiate the scanning of channels from the lowest up to the highest frequency, and store them automatically as presets in the memory. This button doesn’t work in the auxiliary mode.
4c. Previous track button| Press this button to select the previous track on your playlist. Available in Bluetooth®, MicroSD™, USB, and FM tuner modes.
In the FM tuner mode, press this button briefly to tune to the previous station.
Press and hold this button to decrease the volume. This button doesn’t work in the auxiliary mode.

4d. Next track button | Press this button to select the next track on your playlist. Available in Bluetooth®, MicroSD™, USB, and FM tuner modes.
In the FM tuner mode, press this button briefly to tune to the next station.
Press and hold this button to increase the volume. This button doesn’t work in the auxiliary mode.

5. Volume knob

| Use this knob to control the master volume level of the speaker. Turn it clockwise to increase the volume or counterclockwise to lower the volume level of the speaker.
6. ¼in Mic input jack| This¼in microphone input will be used to connect a wired microphone.
7. Aux input| Connect a CD player, digital media player, a mobile phone, or another audio source to this 3.5mm stereo line-in connector.
8. Power On/Off switch| Use this switch to turn the speaker on or off.
9. DC 5V/1A micro USB port| Use this port to power the unit and/or to charge the battery of the loudspeaker.
10. Battery status LED indicator| The LED light will turn red to indicate that the battery is being charged. It will turn green when the battery is fully charged.

Initial setup

Note: For your safety, read this manual and follow all safety instructions before using this product.

  • Turn the volume control knob fully counterclockwise.
  • First, connect all the audio input devices to the loudspeaker. Make sure all input sources (microphones, CD players, digital media players) are turned off and the volume settings are set to their lowest level.
  • Connect the loudspeaker to a power source (if the speaker is not being used in battery mode).
  • Turn the power switch to the ON position.
  • Turn the volume (of the loudspeaker and all the audio sources) clockwise until the sound output is at the desired level.

Note: If there is no sound, check to make sure the source equipment is providing audio.

Charging the battery

  • When the unit is not in use or switched off, it will automatically recharge the internal battery as long as it remains connected to the power source.
  • While charging, the LED lights up in red. When the battery has reached full capacity, the light will turn green.
  • Turn off the loudspeaker when not in use to conserve battery life.

Operating modes

Auxiliary mode operation

Recommendation: The supplied 3.5mm to 3.5mm auxiliary cable has to be used to enable audio playback from devices fitted with an auxiliary 3.5mm jack.
a. Set the loudspeaker to the LINE IN mode by pressing the MODE button on the control panel. (A voice prompt will indicate Line-in mode).
b. Connect one side of the 3.5mm auxiliary cable to the auxiliary port on the speaker and the other side of the cable to the audio source of choice.
c. Start streaming audio files directly from the audio source of choice. Press the Play/Pause button, to play or pause the audio.

MicroSD™/USB mode operation

Recommendation: Use a USB flash drive or micro-SD TM card to enable audio playback from compatible files stored in this type of device.
a. First, connect a USB flash drive or MicroSD™ card to the port of the speaker.
b. The loudspeaker will automatically change to the USB or MicroSD™ mode when the source device is connected. If this does not happen set the loudspeaker to the MicroSD™ or USB mode by pressing the MODE button on the control panel. (A voice prompt will indicate the mode corresponding to the audio source inserted: MicroSD™ or USB).
c. Start streaming audio files directly from the source of choice. Press the Play/Pause button, to play or pause the audio.

FM tuner mode operation

a. Press the Mode button to toggle through the different modes available until the FM tuner mode is prompted.
b. Press and hold the Play/Pause button to initiate the scanning of channels from the lowest up to the highest frequency, and store them automatically as presets in the memory. The FM indication will be displayed during this process and the speaker will automatically save the searched station and store it in P01, P02, P03, etc. Press the Play/Pause button briefly again to stop the search at any time.
c. Once the searching process has been completed, the unit will automatically select P01. Press the Previous track or Next track buttons to switch to a different radio station. Press the Play/Pause button briefly to mute the stations, the FM indication will be displayed.

Note: If during the FM mode operation a USB flash drive or MicroSD™ card is connected, the system will automatically switch to USB/MicroSD™ mode. Press the Mode button to go back to FM mode.

Advanced operation

Pairing the speaker with wireless devices

Note: Before installing this product, please make sure your device is compatible with Bluetooth®.

  1. Turn the power switch on located on the Media panel of the unit. Hi, will appear on the screen.
  2. Enable the Bluetooth® feature on your audio device and set it to discover the wireless speaker.
  3. Remember to place your wireless device and the speaker not more than one meter away from each other.
  4. Next, cycle to the Bluetooth® feature on the speaker by pressing the MODE button found on the media panel and selecting it as the input source. The unit will emit a short tone followed by a blinking “bLUE” word on the LED panel to indicate that the speaker has entered into the pairing mode.
  5. Once the speaker appears listed under the newly found Bluetooth® devices (XTS-702) of your wireless device, it will ask if you want to pair with it.
  6. Accept by pressing Yes or Ok. If you have a lower Bluetooth® version, you may be prompted to enter the passkey 0000 (4 zeros).
  7. When pairing is successful, another tone will be heard through the speaker and the word “bLUE” will stop blinking (solid-state). If after 60 seconds the pairing process fails, please repeat steps 1 through 6 described above.
  8. You can now start streaming audio through the speaker wirelessly from your favorite Bluetooth®- enabled devices.
  9. The speaker will re-pair automatically with memorized devices after being turned off and on again.
