Care and Maintenance
Make sure the Sterilizer is unplugged and the power cord is disconnected before cleaning. Clean Sterilizer regularly. After each use allow to cool down completely, pour out leftover water and dry the inside thoroughly. Use a soft damp cloth to clean the Sterilizer. Do NOT use bleach or any other harsh chemicals. Sterilizer is NOT dishwasher safe. Dry thoroughly before storing. Store in a cool, dry place. When cleaning the Sterilizer Tank, never immerse it in water or any other liquid.
Descaling
It is normal for deposits of limescale to form on the heating plate/tank or in
the microwave base. These can vary in size and intensity according to the
hardness of the water used in the appliance. An excessive deposit of limescale
could reduce the performance of the appliance and damage it over the long
term.
The product will signal the presence of scales and the need for descaling. Use
a household descaling solution for the following steps.
-
Check whether the button/icon used to select the descaling option (G) is on or off. If the white indicator light for the button/icon is on the product needs descaling.
-
Switch off the device and allow it to cool completely.
-
Pour 4.5 oz (130 ml) of descaling solution into the hotplate/tank, following the instructions provided for the descaling solution.
-
Allow the solution to act for a maximum of 2 hours. Never switch the sterilizer on when the container is being soaked in the descaling solution.
-
Empty out the heating plate/tank.
-
Remove any residue with a soft cloth and rinse several times, pouring 7 oz (200 ml) of drinkable tap water into the heating plate/tank and then emptying it out.
DO NOT place the appliance under running water. Finally, dry the appliance carefully with a soft dry cloth before using it again. -
Before setting a new sterilization cycle, press and hold the descaling button/icon (G) for about 2 seconds until it switches off.
CAUTION: Descaling operations should be performed every time the descaling button/icon (G) switches on. In the event of particularly hard water, descaling should be even more frequent and should be performed whenever limescale deposits are noted on the heating plate/tank. Do not use tools, abrasive sponges, detergents, alcohol, or solvents for cleaning as these may permanently damage the sterilizer.
Filter Replacement
The “FILTER” icon will light up to indicate that replacement of filter is
needed. Filter is NOT washable and needs to be replaced at least every 4
months of use.
To replace the filter, make sure the Sterilizer is unplugged and has cooled
down completely. Then unscrew and remove the filter compartment cover located
underneath the Sterilizer Base. Remove the old filter and discard. Wipe out
compartment with a dry cloth if needed. Insert the new filter with the fabric
tab up towards the compartment cover. Screw the filter compartment cover back
into place.
Before starting a new sterilization cycle, press and hold the “FILTER” icon/button for about 2 seconds until it switches off.
