OverView
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved by a person
responsible for their safety. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without
supervision.
Original Instructions for FAMMARP This is a recliner with an electric backrest and footrest controlled via buttons. This product shall only be used together with the included power supply unit. It is the responsibility of every person who installs, uses, repairs, or services this electric recliner to carefully read these instructions. Keep these instructions close to the electric FAMMARP reclining sofa modules.
Installation instructions
- The recliner and other FAMMARP sofa modules are to be assembled according to separate assembly instructions.
- Remove the power supply unit and place it on the floor. Place electrical cables so they do not get damaged.
- The control buttons are located on the right side of the seat frame.
- Connect the power cable to a wall socket.
- NOTE! The power cable must have full mobility.
- Your reclining module is ready to use. The motor stops automatically when the reclining function reaches its fully reclined or fully upright position.
Use of the reclining module
The reclining module shall only be used indoors and in dry areas and as a general piece of furniture with adjustable positions. The sofa must not be overloaded – the maximum load is 136 kg/300 lbs. The motor may be run continuously for a maximum of 2 minutes. The motor must then rest for approx. 18 minutes before it can be used again.
QUICK GUIDE
Follow these instructions while adjusting the seat position: The control buttons are located to your right when sitting down.
- Make sure that no objects are in the way so that the reclining module’s position can change without being obstructed.
- To adjust the position of the reclining module, press one of the control buttons. The front button to recline, and the back button to move the backrest upright.
WARNING
- Do not allow children to play on or use the buttons of this electric piece of furniture.
- The footrest folds down when the recliner moves to the upright position, which can injure a child. Always leave the recliner in the upright position. Keep hands and feet clear of the mechanism. Only the person sitting in the recliner should operate it.
Safety regulations
- When adjusting the position of the reclining module – keep a safe distance to avoid getting stuck between the recliner and fixed objects in the immediate area, or to avoid entrapment in the mechanism and crushing injuries.
- While the position of the reclining module is moving, the user shall make sure that no person can be injured and that no object can be damaged. To avoid the risk of tipping, the recliner module must not bump against any fixed objects when reclining.
- Make sure that there is enough space behind the backrest to fully recline the recliner module.
- When the recliner module is fully reclined – do not apply any additional load on the footrest and do not sit or stand on the footrest.
- The sofa/module frame must not be altered or reconstructed in any way. Upon service or repairs of the recliner module, the power cord must always be disconnected from the wall socket.
- The recliner module should not be used as a hoisting/lifting device for people or objects.
- When the reclining function is not in use, the module should always be in the fully upright position. Never leave the recliner in the reclined position since a child or pet can then crawl under the sofa.
Maintenance and repair
- If the recliner module does not work – check the connections between the module’s power supply and the wall socket as well as the connection between the power supply and the module’s plug.
- If any part of the electrical system is being replaced, the power cable must first be disconnected from the wall socket.
- If any FAMMARP sofa module is being replaced, the power cable must first be disconnected from the wall socket.
If the recliner still does not work, please contact your nearest IKEA store or Customer Service.
NOTE! Do not try to repair the reclining module by yourself to avoid the risks that can arise when you open or disassemble it. EU Declaration of Conformity is included in the packaging as a separate document.
