Adopt a normal posture. Ensure you are standing securely and that you maintain your balance at all times. Never run – instead walk at a steady pace. This will ensure that you can maintain better control of the lawnmower if unexpected situations occur.
-
Do not use the lawnmower in an explosive environment, where there are inflammable liquids, gases or dusts. The lawnmower may create sparks, which could ignite the dust or vapors.
-
Do not tilt the lawnmower when starting-up or switching the motor on unless the mower must be raised while doing so. In this case only tip the lawnmower as far as is absolutely necessary and only lift the side that is away from the user.
-
Maintain the safety distance that is defined by the handle frame.
-
Under the following circumstances, switch the lawnmower oႇ, pull out the safety key and remove the power pack. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete standstill:
-
If leaving the lawnmower unattended;
-
When clearing a blocked mower blade or a clogged grass discharge duct;
-
If checking, cleaning or working on the lawnmower;
-
If you have mowed over a foreign body (check before further use whether lawnmower or mower blade have been damaged);
Check the lawnmower at once if it starts vibrating abnormally. -
Check for damage;
-
Repair damaged parts if necessary;
-
Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tightened properly.
-
-
Take extra care if you are mowing backwards and pulling the lawnmower towards you.
-
Switch the lawnmower oႇ, if you need to tilt or transport it, e.g. between lawns or over paths.
-
Do not start the motor if you are standing in front of the gas discharge duct.
-
Maintain the safety distance relative to the rotating tool that is defined by the guide handle.
-
During operation, remain in the prescribed operator work area behind the guide handle.
-
Never leave the lawnmower unattended during breaks and store it in a secure location.
-
Before lifting or carrying the lawnmower away, switch the motor oႇ, withdraw the safety key, remove the power pack and wait until the mower blade has come to a standstill.
-
Only adjust the cutting height with the motor switched oႇ and the mower blade at a standstill.
-
Before removing the grass collector, switch the motor oႇ and wait until the mower blade comes to a standstill. After emptying the grass collector, attach it carefully and make sure that it is securely fixed to the lawnmower.
-
Never open the detector flap if the motor is still running.
-
Never move the mower over gravel with the motor running. You may be hit by stones!
-
Where possible do not mow the lawn when the grass is wet.
Mowing on steep slopes
- Do not mow on excessively steep slopes.
- Ensure you have secure footing and mow slowly.

Attaching the handle
Attention
When folding the handle together or folding the handle out, the cable may be damaged. Ensure that the cable is not kinked or squeezed.
- Grip in the handle recess of the deflector flap B1 and pull the deflector flap upwards until the hook on the rear side of the casing and the hook on the underside of the deflector flap engage with a loud click B2
- Then lower the deflector flap again B3
The grass is easily ejected through the resulting gap between the deflector flap and the casing when mowing without the grass collector. you can find more information in the section “Mowing without the grass collector.
-
Now fix both handle mountings Ab to the bottom part of the handle Ah, see c1
-
Attach the bottom part of the handle to the handle mountings so that it clicks in c2. Push the handle up to the end of the handle mounting c3
-
Slightly pull the bottom part of the handle apart at its ends and push onto the threaded screws located on the left and right side of the casing D1
-
Then position the two washers A d on the threaded screws D2
-
Push the threaded pins A f into the quick-release
levers A a, until the hole is visible E 1. Hold these tightly with finger and thumb and screw in the quick-release levers together with the threaded pins in a clockwise direction E2 until
there is a gap of approximately 10 mm E3. -
Secure the bottom part of the handle, by folding the quick-release levers upwards towards the lawnmower E4
-
Attach the top part of the handle A g, by positioning it on the bottom part of the handle F1. Hold the top part of the handle firmly with one hand and with the other hand insert the screw A e from outside into the holes at the left side of the handle F 2.
-
Position the washer A d on the screw from the other side F 3.
-
Push the threaded pin A f into the quick-release lever A a, so that the hole is visible. Hold this tightly with finger and thumb and screw in the quick-release lever together with the threaded pin in a clockwise direction until there is a gap of approximately 10 mm F 3,4.
-
Put the anti-kink protector A i in place at the right
side of the handle, together with screw A e which
must be inserted into the respective hole G 1. -
Position the washer A d on the screw from the
other side G 3. -
Push the threaded pin A f into the quick-release lever A a, so that the hole is visible G2. Hold this tightly with finger and thumb and screw in the quick-release lever together with the threaded pin in a clockwise direction G 3 until there is a gap of approximately 10 mm G 4
-
Fasten the upper part of the handlebar, by folding down the left and right quick-release levers G5.
Note
Depending on your height, you can select an operating position for comfortable mowing U I/II/III b\ releasing the two bottom quick-release levers U1 and changing the inclination of the assembled handle until the desired height is obtained U2 . Once the handle is set to the desired height, snap the bottom quick-release levers back up again U3
To secure the power cable to the lawnmower, lead it through the open lugs of the anti-kink protector A i and attach it with the cable clip A c at the indicated point on the handle H;
Note
To simplify transport and storage, you can fold the handle together. See
³Transport and storage´ for more detailed information
Assembling the grass collector

Working without a grass collector
- Take the grass collector off.
- The deflector flap folds down.
Note
Then working without the grass collector, the grass cuttings are thrown
downwards.
Mulching (Fig. S)
During mulching, the grass is cut multiple times using a special cutting system and fed back into the ground. This means there is no grass waste. Moreover mulching protects the lawn against drying out. The mulched grass contains lots of nutrients. To obtain optimum results, the grass must be kept short. You can and more information in the section “Lawn care tips.
Note
Depending on the growth of the grass, we recommend mulching 1 – 2 per week.
when doing so the grass must not be too long or too moist!
- When mulching, push the lawnmower slowly.
- Also ensure that the cutting stripes always overlap.
- Do not cut more than 20 mm of grass
Note
If the lawn is mossy or contains lots of thatch, mulching is not worthwhile
because the grass cuttings remain on the surface of the moss or thatch and
thus cannot be fed into the ground.
Dethatch and fertilize the lawn regularly
Activating the MULCH function (Fig. S-T)
DANGER
Risk of injuries due to the rotating mower blade.
Only adjust the lawnmower with the motor switched off and the mower blade at a standstill.

Attention
Do not re-attach the grass collector as the grass collector could be damaged.
Lawn care tips (Fig. N)
A lawn comprises various grass types. If you mow more frequently, the grown of strongly-rooting grasses is favored resulting in firm turf. If you mow only rarely, the growth of tall grasses and other weeds (e.g. clover, daisies) is encouraged. To ensure you lawn grows healthily and uniformly, without any lines, the cutting stripes must always overlap by a couple of inches/several centimeters N.
- The normal height of the grass is 40–50 mm. Cut approximately one third of the overall height as soon as the lawn has reached a height of 60– 70 mm.
- Do not cut the lawn shorter than 45 mm as otherwise the turf can be damaged during dry periods.
- Cut long grass in stages until normal height is reached.
After mowing (Fig. M)
Switch the lawnmower oႇ and wait until the motor blade comes to a standstill
SAFETY ROUTINE
- Open the cover o 1.
- Turn the safety key anti-clockwise until it reaches position “0” P 2, then remove it.
