Automatic calf feeder
3.1 Construction of barn
This document provides a brief overview of what to consider when planning a calf barn with a calf feeder.
1 Requirements of the calves
1.1 Space
2,5-3m² per calf, depends on weight
1.2 Light
Enough over the day(>80 Lux) – 16h “daylight”
1.3 Environment
Draft-free (<0,2m/sec); enough air exchange (> 4-5x/h), avoid heat (>25°C ) and cold stress (<-15°C )
1.4 Number of animals
20-25 calves/station
1.5 Bedding
Enough and dry
1.6 Water
Fresh and clean, anytime
1.7 Feed
Milk or MP with high quality, hay and concentrate for calves
2 Requirements of the feeder
TIP: check Quick Start Guide 1.1 Installation Place calf feeder in a protected
area (Protected from dirt, moisture and frost) with enough space for service
and maintenance!
Powder: min. 1,5m x 1,5m Combi: min. 2,5m x 1,5m
2.1 Grounding
Implement at all provided positions
2.2 Power supply
Varies depending on the system used – information in the operating instructions
2.3 Milk tank at ground level
Low pressure, with 0,5m hose – out of one piece Maximum distance 3m to the feeder
2.4 Water supply
Water pressure 1-6 bar
2.5 Provide drain options
1 on the left side of the feeder, 1 in front of the feeder in the middle of the housing and 1 at every feeding station
2.6 Internet connection
To use the CalfAppGO!

Without SynchroFeed pumps, feeding via valves
5.1 Suction hose As short as possible, maximum 3m trained calves up to 5m
5.2 Number of animals Up to 50 calves per feeder at two stations Feeding
one calf after the other.
