Installing Foxit Smart Redact
Requirements

Foxit Smart Redact is a plugin for Foxit PDF Editor and is also a cloud
service that requires an internet connection. You need a Foxit Account to use
the plugin.
How to install
The installer format of Foxit Smart Redact is MSI for Windows, and PGK for macOS. Please download the installer to your computer, and then do the following steps:
- Double-click the installer file, and you will see the setup dialog box pop up.
- Follow the setup wizard to complete the plugin installation.
Uninstalling Foxit Smart Redact
If you install the plugin by using the MSI installer, please use the following steps to uninstall it:
- Left-click the install file, and select Uninstall to remove the plugin.
- The plugin will be removed next time when you launch Foxit PDF Editor.
If you install the plugin by using the PGK installer, please use the following steps to uninstall it:
- Select the Help tab and click the Foxit Plug-Ins button in the ribbon bar. The plugin dialog box will pop up.
- Scroll down to find the FoxitSmartRedact and click Uninstall button.
- Close the plugin dialog box.
- The plugin will be removed next time when you launch Foxit PDF Editor.
Using Foxit Smart Redact
Sensitive information detection and redaction To redact sensitive information
in your PDF, after you open a PDF file, select the Protect tab, and select
Auto Redaction. To redact sensitive information from PDF documents, after you
opened a PDF file, select Protect tab, and then select Smart Redact to launch
the Smart Redact function.
For the Foxit PDF Editor version
For Foxit PDF Editor Pro version 
If you haven’t signed in to Foxit Account yet, the sign-in dialog box will pop
up. Type your account information and click Login. 
The Smart Redact view will be opened in the right of the Foxit PDF Editor
Window. 
In Smart Redact view, it lists the profiles of redaction. There are four
default profiles after the plugin is installed. You can check/uncheck profiles
you want to apply for smart redact. To have Smart Redact to detect sensitive
information, click Scan, and the detected sensitive information will be
listed.
Select detected sensitive information one by one for redaction, or you can
check Check all to redact all items. 
To redact the marked sensitive information, click Apply button; and click the
OK button from the confirmation dialog box. 
The PDF document will be redacted as shown below. You can click the continue
button for further sensitive information detection and redaction.
Redact profile configuration
New profile creation
To configure redact profiles, click the Configuration icon (“+”) from the
Smart Redact view.
The data types that can be detected by the plugin are listed in the Smart
Redact view. You can check/uncheck data types and specify a profile name in
the text box of the Group name. Click Save button to create a new profile with
the selected data types. 
Existing profiles editing
To edit an existing profile, click the Editing icon (“…”), then you can choose
Rename, Edit, or Delete for profile editing.
To change the redacted data types and the profile name, select Edit to enter the setting page. To add more data types, click Add more button at the bottom of the page, and click the Save button to save the changes for this existing profile.
