Features

A. Display: This screen shows information relevant to Total PA– Live’s current operation. The Display comes with a plastic protector on it. Carefully remove this for optimal viewing. See the full User Guide to learn more.
B. Control Knob: Tum this knob to adjust the main volume (overall output) of the loudspeaker. Push this knob to select and make adjustments to the mic 1 volume, the mic 2 volume, source volume (radio, USB, SD, Bluetooth signal, and aux input), echo effect, high EQ, and low The volume of Total PA– Live does not affect your Bluetooth device volume. For the best sound quality, set your input source volume to 100% and use the Source and Main Volume control of the speaker to adjust the volume.
C. Next: Press this button to tune in to a radio station or go to the next track on a Bluetooth-connected device, SD card, or USB drive. Press and hold in radio mode to seek.
D. Play/Pause: Play/pause the USB, SD, or Bluetooth source. In USB/SD mode, double-press this button to stop playback and return to the beginning of the list of files. In Radio Mode, press this button to select a previously saved preset station. To save the current station as a preset, press and hold this button, use the Tune/Track buttons to select which preset you want to save it to, and press this button again to confirm. In Bluetooth mode, press and hold the Play/Pause button for 5 seconds to disable voice prompts.
E. Previous: Press this button to tune in to a radio station or go to the previous track on a Bluetooth-connected device, SD card, or USB drive. Press and hold in radio mode to seek.
F. Repeat/Link: In USB or SD mode, press this button to repeat a single track, folder, or all tracks. Press and hold this button to start stereo linking to another Total PA Live–. See the full User Guide to leam more.
G. Mode: Press this button to select the audio source to use: USB, SD, FM radio, Aux, or Bluetooth.
H. Lights: Press this button to toggle between five modes for the lights on the front panel.
I. USB Port: Connect a USB flash drive here to play supported audio files. You can also use the USB port to charge a device. To charge a device that is streaming music via Bluetooth, pause the music first and then wait for it to reconnect after the USB cable is inserted.
J. SD Card slot Insert an SD card here to play supported audio files.
K. Mic Inputs 1/4″ / XLR): Connect a microphone or mic-level source to these inputs.
L. Aux Inputs (1/8″ stereo / XLR line-level): These inputs can be used to connect a CD player, MP3 player, or another audio source.
M. Mix Output (XLR): Connect this output to a speaker, mixer, or recorder.
N. Clip LED: The Clip LED will flash red if the signal from the input jacks or media panel audio source is clipping. If this happens, decrease the main volume using the Control Knob or the source, or the mic volume (if a loud device is plugged into either).
O. Power Switch (not shown): Flip this switch to toggle the speaker’s power on or off. Your previous settings will be remembered when powering off and on again.
Note: Total PA™ Live will power off after 15 minutes with no audio playing.

App Control

IMPORTANT: To ensure the best possible experience with the app, use the most current Android OS or iOS on your device.
Follow these steps to download the free app on your device:

  1. Open the Apple App Store or Google Play on your device. Then, search for the ION Sound XP™ app.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app. Once downloaded, the ION Sound XP™ app will appear on your device’s home screen.
  3. Connect your device to Total PA™ Live via Bluetooth. See Pairing a Bluetooth Device to learn how to do this.
  4. Open the ION Sound XP™ app and tap to select Add A Product on the screen. The app will scan and find Total PA™ Live.
  5. Select the Total PA™ Live icon to go to the next screen, where you can control the speaker settings from your device.

Bluetooth Connecting with Total PA™ Live

Connecting to One Total PALive:

  1. Power on the Total PA™
    Live by flipping the on/off switch.

  2. Use the Mode button to select Bluetooth mode (unless it is the first power on or Bluetooth mode was the mode it was in when it was powered down)
    and Total PA™ Live will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.

  3. Navigate to your device’s Bluetooth setup screen, find Total PA Live, and connect. Do not connect to Total PA Live_BLE; this is reserved exclusively
    for connecting to the ION Sound XP™ app. When connected, the Bluetooth icon on the display will flash and you will hear “Bluetooth Connected”.
    Note: If you experience trouble in connecting, select “Forget this Device” on your Bluetooth device and try to connect again.

  4. To disconnect, turn off Bluetooth from your device’s Bluetooth settings.

Linking Two Speakers (Stereo-Link™ ):

  1. Power on both Total PA™ Live speakers by flipping their on/off switches. Make sure they are in Bluetooth pairing mode and not connected to a device.
  2. Press and hold the Repeat/Link button on one speaker (the primary “Left” speaker which will control both) to enter Stereo Link mode. Once a link has been established, the word LINK will appear on both speaker displays.
  3. Connect to the primary speaker via Bluetooth.
    To disconnect, double press the Repeat/Link button.
    Note: The speakers should be within 100’ (33.3 m) of each other to properly link.

Safety Information (English)

  1. Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions.

  2. Do not use this apparatus near water.

  3. Do not block any ventilation openings (if applicable). Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install this equipment in a confined or “boxed-in” space such as a bookcase or similar unit, and maintain good ventilation conditions. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspaper. tablecloths, curtains. etc.

  4. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers. stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Do not place exposed flame sources such as lighted candles on the apparatus.

  5. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug (if applicable). A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet.

To avoid this, insulate each battery with tape or other non­conductive material to ensure it does not discharge. Proven cost-effective and environmentally safe recycling processes are not yet universally available for alkaline and lithium button cell batteries. Service Instructions

  • Disconnect the power cord before servicing.
  • Replace critical components only with factory parts or recommended equivalents.
