Operating elements
-
“ON/OFF/INDICATOR” button/LED
Using this button, the wireless outdoor switch can be activated or deactivated manually. This button also serves as the programming button. -
Front socket for connecting a consumer load.
Programming the wireless outdoor switch to a radio transmitter
· Set the switch group on the transmitter, to which you want to program the
wireless outdoor switch, if necessary (e.g. for a radio remote control) using
the selector switch for the switch group.
· Plug the wireless outdoor switch into a standard 230 V/AC, 50 Hz household
socket. Then, the LED will flash (2).
· Press the ON button for the desired switching channel on the radio
transmitter, i.e. that to which you want to program the wireless outdoor
switch, before the LED stops flashing. The LED (2) will go off. The
programming has been completed successfully.
Programming the wireless outdoor switch to recognise several radio
transmitters
You can program up to 10 radio transmitters for the wireless outdoor switch.
- Set the switch group on the transmitter, to which you want to program the wireless outdoor switch, if necessary (e.g. for a radio remote control) using the selector switch for the switch group.
- Plug the wireless outdoor switch into a standard 230 V/AC, 50 Hz household socket and press the button/LED “ON/OFF/INDICATOR” (2), until the LED starts to flash red.
- Press the ON button for the desired switching channel on the radio transmitter, i.e. that to which you want to program the wireless outdoor switch, before the LED (2) stops flashing. The LED (2) will go off. The programming has been completed successfully.
Deleting the programmed wireless outdoor switches from a radio transmitter
Please observe the operating instructions for the corresponding radio
transmitter.
Start-up, function test
-
Select the correct switch group on the transmitter, if necessary (e.g. on a radio remote control).
-
Plug the wireless outdoor switch (without the consumer load connected!) into the designated earthed mains socket.
You can now test the function of the wireless outdoor switch by briefly pressing the respective ON button for the corresponding switching channel. The red LED (2) will light up. The socket (1) on the front is now activated; the mains voltage is available and a connected consumer load is turned on. -
Briefly press the OFF button, for the switching channel on the transmitter; the LED (2) is turned off; the mains voltage to the front socket (1), and thus the connected consumer load, is turned off.
Operation
-
Connect the consumer load to the front socket (1).
Please consult the section “Technical data” for the consumer load’s permissible maximum power. -
By pressing the respective ON or OFF button for the switching channel on the radio transmitter, you can turn the wireless outdoor switch on (the LED (2) will light up) or off (the LED (2) will go out).
-
The wireless outdoor switch can be switched on or off using the “ON/OFF” button (1) located on the front.
Range
- The range of the radio signals, between the radio transmitter and the wireless outdoor switch, is up to 70 m under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the so-called “open space range” (the range the
transmitter and receiver are visible to each other, without disturbing
influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings of rooms etc.
between the transmitter and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range
can be guaranteed.
Nevertheless, trouble-free operation in a single-family home is usually
possible.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
- Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
- Coated/metallised insulated glass
- Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators)
- Proximity to human bodies
- Broadband interferences, e.g., in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby monitors etc.)
- Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
- The proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric appliances
Care and cleaning
- The product does not require any maintenance and should never be opened or disassembled for any reason.
- Remove connected consumer loads from the wireless outdoor switch and remove it from the mains socket, before cleaning the product.
- Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the casing or impair the operation.
