GENERAL INFORMATION

Thank you for purchasing this Air Quality alarm. This product has a high precision carbon dioxide infrared sensor, digital humidity and temperature sensor chip. It can detect and display CO2 levels of the surrounding environment and give a corresponding warning. The alarm can be mounted to a wall, or placed anywhere in a room. Please read manual before use, and store it carefully for future use and maintenance.

Scope of application: Carbon dioxide alarm for buildings with residential function.

Function: The LED display shows CO2 concentration, ambient temperature and humidity. The alarm gives a voice broadcast when the CO2 concentration levels are too high.

CO2 concentration and display

This product can detect and display CO2 concentration of the surrounding environment and give a corresponding warning. The default warning value is 1000ppm, and the default alarm value is 1500ppm.

  • Good condition: when the CO2 concentration level is <1000ppm, the warning window shows green color.
  • Warning status: when the CO2 concentration level is about 1500ppm, the warning window shows yellow color. Ventilation is required.
  • Alarm status: when the CO2 concentration level is > 1500, the warning window shows red color and broadcast the alarm sound of “CO2 detected alarm” at a level of >75db within 1 meter. Ventilation is required. This function can remind users of the environment in a timely manner to avoid harm to personal health and safety.
Carbon dioxide levels and guidelines
CO 2 level Description
400ppm Normal outdoor air level
400-1000ppm Typical level indoors with good ventilation. NOTE: if CO2 levels

are low when building is sealed and occupied, check for overventilation. Too much fresh air causes energy to be wasted.
1000ppm| The recommended maximum level in a closed room. Considered maximum comfort level.

1200ppm| Poor air quality, ventilation is required.
2000 ppm| This level of CO2 concentration produces a significant increase in drowsiness, tiredness, headache, lower levels of concentration and increased likelihood of spreading respiratory viruses.
5000 ppm| Maximum allowed concentration within an 8 hour working period.

Humidity level detection and guidelines

This product can detect and display the humidity of the surrounding environment and give a corresponding warning. When humidity levels are too high (>90%RH) you hear a voice: “Humidity is abnormal”. Ventilation is required.

Temperature level detection and guideline

This product can detect and display the temperature of the surrounding environment and give a corresponding warning. When temperature levels are too low (<-5°C) or too high (>50°C) you hear a voice:
“Temperature anomaly detected”. Ventilation is required.

INSTALLATION Power supply and startup

The product is equipped with an external AC power adapter and has a built-in backup rechargeable polymer lithium battery, which can work for 12 hours after AC power is cut off.

  • Remove the mounting plate from the back of the alarm by turning it anticlockwise.

  • Insert the power adapter (see image 1.9). Set the backup power switch (1.10) to ‘ON’, this ensures the alarm stays powered on when AC power is cut off.

  • It takes 150 seconds for the alarm to warm up and calibrate. On the display you see the calibration time counting down.
When the alarm is powered by an adapter, the traffic light indicator is always on, when battery powered, the traffic light indicator flashes.

  • When the backup battery has low voltage, there will be a voice reminder. The traffic light will turn yellow every 4 seconds.

Wall-mount installation

  • Determine the appropriate location for the alarm. Make sure there are no wires or pipes in the vicinity or within the walls.
  • Determine the position of the two fixing holes on the mounting plate. The center distance of the two holes is 58mm.
  • Drill two holes with a diameter of 5mm and a depth of 30-40mm.
  • Insert the two supplied plugs into the holes.
  • Place the mounting plate over the holes, note the ‘UP’ signs on the mounting plate. Use the supplied screws to secure the mounting plate to the wall.
  • Attach the alarm to the mounting plate by turning it clockwise.

OPERATION

Touch button function

SET / AUTO
The default setting of the alarm is the display alters between temperature, humidity and CO2 level.

  • Short press to manually set the display to temperature, humidity or CO2 level.
  • Long press to change temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
TEST/HUSH
  • When the alarm detects a too high CO2 level, the alarm sounds. Short press the TEST / HUSH button to silence the alarm for 10 minutes. Ventilation is required.
  • Long press the TEST/HUSH button to test the voice broadcasting.
Turning off the alarm

You can manually turn the alarm off, so it does not sound when values are too high.

  • Set the alarm to CO2 level by pressing the SET/AUTO button until CO2 level is displayed.
  • Hold the SET/AUTO button for 3 seconds. ‘OFF’ will be visible on the display.
  • To activate the alarm, hold the SET/AUTO button again for 3 seconds, ‘ON’ will be visible on the display.

Language setting

You can change the language of the voice by pressing the TEST /HUSH and SET / AUTO buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The language changes, long press again to go to the next language. The default language is English. The alarm supports German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch languages.

The environmental light detection function

When the CO2 concentration, temperature, and humidity are within normal range and the ambient brightness is very low (at night, indoor lights are all off), the brightness of the product’s display screen and the indicator will automatically decrease to reduce the impact on user’s sleep. Normal brightness is displayed when CO2 concentration, temperature, or humidity is detected abnormal.

SAFETY MEASURES

  • The alarm needs time to adapt to the current environment. In order to achieve a more accurate detection effect, it should continue to work for more than 24 hours after changing the use environment to complete automatic calibration. After completion, the calibration will not be completed at next startup.

  • This product cannot be used in factories, warehouses and other industrial environments that may be in high CO2 concentration for a long time. The CO2 detector used in industrial environments needs regular manual calibration.

  • If the product is to be placed in a narrow space, the space should be well ventilated, especially the two diffusion windows should be in a well-ventilated position.

  • The product should not be placed near a heat source. Avoid direct sunlight or other thermal radiation

  • This product should not be used in an environment with high dust density for a long time.

  • Do not use the device in potentially explosive rooms.

  • Do not remove any safety signs, stickers or labels from the device.
Keep all safety signs, stickers and labels in legible condition.
