Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to
comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage
to the machine:

General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.

Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.

When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.

Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off.
Remove the plug from the socket. -
The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.

Use only original spare parts.

In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Do not allow small children to play with the foil.

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine
On the product you find the following icon with warnings or information:
WARNING: Hot surface!
Risk of burns!
During operation and afterwards, the temperature of the accessible surfaces
will be very high.
- Always hold the appliance by the handle.
- Only open and close the lid of the kettle with the button in the lid.
WARNING:
- Do not exceed the MAX mark when filling, otherwise the water may boil over and cause burns!
- Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
- Do not open the lid when the water is boiling.
CAUTION:
Make sure the mains cable cannot touch the hotplate of the appliance.

The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks.

Use the appliance only on a level work surface.

Do not move the device and do not touch it when it is working.

Only use the kettle with the accompanying base.

Switch the machine off before removing it from the base!

The base and exterior of the machine must not become wet.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance understand the hazards involved.

Cleaning and maintenance by the user shall not be made by children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

Children shall not play with the appliance.

Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

The water kettle is designed for heating and boiling drinking water.
Do not use it for heating other liquids or foods. -
The tea/coffee maker is designed for preparing and keeping tea and coffee warm.

Only use the appliance in a dry, indoor area. It is intended for domestic use and similar areas of use such as e.g.
– In staff kitchens in shops, offices and other commercial areas;
– By guests in hotels, motels and other accommodation facilities.
It is not intended for use in farm accommodation or Bed & Breakfast establishments.
CAUTION:
Do not immerse the device into water for cleaning. Please follow the
instructions as stipulated in the chapter “Cleaning”.

Unpacking of the appliance
- Remove the appliance from its packaging.
- Remove all the packaging material such as foils, filler material, cable holders and cardboardpackaging.
- Check the scope of delivery for completeness.
- In the event that the packaging content should be incomplete or if damages should be noticeable, do not operate the appliance.
Return it to the dealer immediately.
NOTE:
There may still be dust or production residue on the device. We recommend that
you clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.
Explanation of the control panel

Instructions
Location
Put the base on a flat surface.
Preparation
Water kettle: Before using for the first time,boil fresh water at least
three times in the appliance. Use only water without any additives or
ingredients.
Tea/coffee maker: Clean the tea/coffee maker and filter as usual in soapy
water. Rinse with clear water afterwards. Dry the tea/coffee maker and filter
with a cloth.
Mains Lead
Completely unwind the required power cord from the bottom part of the base.
Pay attention to the guide of the power cord.
Electrical connection
Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as
that of the machine. Details are to be found on the label on the base.
Connected Wattage
The total power consumption of this device can be up to 2500 W. With this
connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A household circuit
breaker is recommended.
CAUTION: Overload!
- If you use extension leads, these should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
- Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too powerful.
Operating the water kettle
NOTE:
Always use fresh, cold water.

Press the button in the lid to open the kettle.
The opener will spring open. Remove the lid. -
Then fill in the water. Please only fill up to the maximum (MAX) mark. You can read the filling level on the water level indicator of the kettle.

Place the lid onto the appliance. Press the button in the lid to close the lid. The button must click in audibly.

Put the water kettle onto the connecting joint of the base.
-
Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket.
-
Set the switch on the water kettle to the “I” position. The indicator lamp on the handle will light up.
Pausing/terminating operation
There are two options to interrupt the boiling process or to terminate it:
- The appliance will shut off automatically after the boiling process. The indicator lamp will go out.
- Set the switch to the “0” position to pause or terminate the boiling process.
**WARNING:** Danger of scalding!
- When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
- During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch it and allow the device to cool down before storing it away.
CAUTION:
- Do not remove the appliance from the base without shutting it off first.
- Also ensure that it is shut off before setting it back onto the base.
Disconnect the power cord.
Emptying the water container.
Operating the tea/coffee maker

Use the water kettle to boil water as described in chapter “Operating the water kettle”.

Remove the filter. Measure the tea or coffee as desired and add to the filter.
NOTE:
• You may also put tea bags into the filter.
• Use medium or coarse ground coffee. -
Replace the filter in the tea/coffee maker. Make sure the square notch in the attachment is aligned with the handle.

Take the water kettle from the base and carefully pour the hot water into the tea/coffee maker.
Only fill up to the maximum mark (– 8 –). Check the water level indication on the appliance for the current water level. -
Tea: Leave the tea as indicated to steep and then enjoy.
Coffee: Wait 1-2 minutes and then enjoy your coffee.
Hotplate
You may keep the brewed tea/coffee warm by switching on the hotplate
underneath the tea/coffee maker.
NOTE:
The buttons on the base station are touch buttons. Slightly touch the buttons
with a finger to select the function.

Press the ****button to turn on the hotplate. The pilot lamp TEA will light up. The display shows the temperature preset by the factory of 80 °C.

You can use the MOD button to select the warm-keeping temperatures preset by the factory for tea (80 °C) or for coffee (85 °C).
The respective pilot lamp will light up. -
You may use the and buttons to manually set the temperature for the hotplate. The control range is between 70 °C and 90 °C.
CAUTION: Danger of scalding!
The hotplate heats continuously, even if the tea/coffee maker is not on the
plate. Always switch off the hotplate if the tea/coffee maker is not on the
plate or if the tea/coffee maker is empty.
Automatic shut-off
The hotplate will shut-off automatically after 60 minutes, if no entry was
performed on the control panel within that time. The notification in the
display will go out. This circuit serves your safety.
Stop operation
- Make sure that the hotplate is shut-off.
- Then disconnect the mains cable from the wall socket.
Cleaning
CAUTION:
- Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove the mains plug. Wait until the device has cooled down.
- Do not immerse the water kettle or base into water or other liquids.
Water kettle

Rinse the water container out with clean water.
Then dry it off with a cloth. -
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
-
Clean the perforated surface of the spout opening with a nylon brush from the inside.
Tea/coffee maker / filter
Clean the tea/coffee maker and filter as usual in soapy water. Rinse with
clear water afterwards. Dry the tea/coffee maker and filter with a cloth.
Winding mechanism for the power cord
You may wind the power cord on the bottom area of the base station.
Decalcification of the water kettle
- The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used.
- If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
- Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.
NOTE:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times (approximately
3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do not consume this water.
Troubleshooting
- It is not possible to switch the machine on.
Possible Cause:
The appliance has no power supply.
Remedy:
– Check the socket with another appliance.
– Plug in the mains plug correctly.
– Check the main circuit breaker.
Possible Cause:
The appliance is faulty.
Remedy:
Contact our service center or a specialist.
Possible Cause:
After being used without or with too little water the machine has not cooled
down sufficiently.
Remedy:
Allow the machine to cool down for 15 min.
The kettle shuts off prior to boiling.
Possible Cause:
The heated base is coated with too much lime or the circuit of the plug is
overloaded.
Remedy:
– Descale the machine as instructed.
– Check the mains connection.
- The kettle does not shut off.
Possible Cause:
The lid is not closed.
Remedy:
Close the lid.
- The kettle will switch back on after setting it onto the base station.
Possible Cause:
The switch on the kettle is turned on.
Remedy:
Set the switch to the position “0”.
