ARTONI Master 6S Flat Base Adapter and Pump
INTRODUCTION
Designed to support Camera weights from 20 Kg (44 lbs) to 65 Kg (143 lbs), the new MASTER 65 is ideal for outdoor Broadcast with bulky boxed lenses. Depending on the Center of Gravity (CG) position, the maximum payload is:
- At 200 mm: 65 kg
- At 175 mm: 70 kg
- At 150 mm: 80 kg
It combines a wide range of counterbalance capabilities, performing perfect balance at any tilt angle with a new CARTONI Fluid drag system based on silicon lubricated friction. The new drag ensures almost free-wheeling at its minimum, up to a consistent drag for smooth and slow movements with long focal lengths. This rugged Head comes equipped with the standard Dovetail plate on a large sliding platform. The micrometric movements of the slide are operated by a handy crank placed under the slide plate. All settings are ergonomic and placed in the right positions. Pan Bars are compatible with the Vinten attachment. MASTER 65 comes equipped with a digital readout for counterbalance reference and illuminated bubble level. The MASTER 65 flat base interfaces with Mitchel mount Tripods, Pedestals, and other supports via 4 bolts fixing system, 2 ¾” castle-nut, or an M12 threaded central knob.
- Before using the MASTER 65 Fluid Head, please make sure to read this user’s & maintenance manual;
- Before installing the Fluid Head on the Tripod check the Tripod stability;
- Check that the Camera payload (including lenses and accessories) is lower than the maximum capacity of the MASTER 65 Fluid Head;
- Before installing the Camera make sure that the MASTER 65 is in good condition and bears no evident damages.

- To release the Camera plate (1) slide forward the Camera plate lock lever (5) and rotate it 90° counterclockwise, then remove the Camera plate.
- Attach the Camera plate under the Camera assembly and firmly secure it with both screws. Try to place the Camera plate centered under the Camera system, keeping in mind the position of the center of gravity (CG).
- Place the Camera on the top of the MASTER 65, by pushing the Camera plate (1) forward to perfectly match the sliding plate’s proper position, then close the Camera plate lock lever (5).
- Holding the pan bar (17) firmly, disengage the horizontal lock with a button (9) and find the correct center of gravity (CG) by sliding the Camera assembly fore-and-aft using the sliding crank (16) (extract the knob to rotate). Lock the sliding plate with a lever (13).
- Set the counterbalance system by turning the counterbalance selector (19) to the appropriate tension. The Camera has to stay still at any tilt angle. If needed, fine-tune the balance by adjusting the sliding plate.
- Push-button (21) to activate illuminated digital displays (20), unlock Pan lock (11), and select the desired Fluid drag intensity on both Pan and tilt by turning Pan selector (18) and tilt selector (23).
