Function
The Vacuum Cleaner sucks dust and dirt from ventilation ducts, which has been re-moved mechanically or by pressure air before. The section of the ventilation system that has to be cleaned is sealed from the surroundings and kept at low pressure. This is necessary to support the cleaning process and to prevent dust from entering into the surrounding atmosphere. The Vacuum Cleaner is part of the under pressure system. Because of the under pressure and the air flowing through the ventilation canal, the dirt and dust particles are sucked into the Vacuum Cleaner.

Safety information

  • WARNING!

    • Take care that the position of the vacuum cleaner is stable when working with it.
    • Do not use the vacuum cleaner in a humid or wet work environment or near combustible fluids or gases.

    • Never touch the power supply with wet hands!
    • Protect the power supply against water and moisture!
    • Do not unplug the power supply by pulling the cable!
    • Only connect the power supply to a plug 230 V.
  • WARNING!
Use a breathing mask in dusty operation conditions!

  • WARNING!
Disconnect the power supply from the wall socket, when the vacuum cleaner is not used and before changing the filters.

  • ATTENTION!
The correct function of the SF 300 will only be guaranteed, if all parts are correctly installed and if only the recommended accessories are used.

Installing the SF 300

  • Always install the SF 300 on a flat and dry surface
  • Make sure that there is enough distance be-tween suction/discharge opening (Fig. 2, parts 6 and 7) and the wall or another obstacle.
  • NOTE!
    • Depending on the working conditions, the SF 300 can be placed in a vertical or horizontal position.

Connecting the hose

ATTENTION!

  • Do not pull the hose over rough or hot surfaces. Make sure that the hose does not come into contact with sharp objects.
  • It is possible to connect several flexible 5 m hoses to the SF 300, so that the SF 300 can be positioned at a certain distance from the cleaning access. It is not necessary that all connected hoses have the same diameter.

NOTE!
We recommend to use no more than 2 hoses. Connect the hose with the largest diameter directly to the SF 300.

Connecting a hose Ø 200 mm

  • Place the adapter 250 / 200 mm on the suction opening (Fig. 2, part 6) of the SF 300.
  • Place the ferrule of the hose Ø 200 mm on the adapter.

Connecting a hose Ø 160 mm (optional)
It is possible to connect a flexible hose Ø 160 mm to the SF 300. For this purpose the ferrule Ø 200 mm and another adapter 200 / 160 are necessary. The hose Ø 160 mm is not included in delivery  (see Accessories).
NOTE!
The hose Ø 160 mm is specially suitable for the cleaning of connecting pieces of ventilation ducts.

Connecting two hoses
To cover a certain distance between the cleaning access and the SF 300, the user can connect two hoses.

  • First, connect the hose Ø 200 mm to the SF 300 as described in chapter 6.1 .

  • After that plug the adapter 200 / 160 to the free ferrule of the hose Ø 200 mm. Then connect the adapter 200 / 160 to the hose Ø 160 mm.
    OR

  • Connect another hose Ø 200 mm to the free ferrule of the hose Ø 200 mm.

Connecting the hose to the cleaning access

  • Remove the cover of the cleaning access.

  • Connect the hose tightly to the cleaning aperture.
    NOTE!
Depending on the conditions it may be necessary to make the connection tight with a suitable adhesive tape.

  • Clean the ventilation ducts section by section. For that purpose separate sections from 5 to 10 m with a sealing element.

Switching the SF 300 on and off

  • Connect the SF 300 to the wall socket (230 V) with the power cable.
  • Press the black button situated on the control unit to switch on the SF 300.
  • The SF 300 is ready to operate now.
  • Press the red button situated on the control unit to switch off the SF 300.
    WARNING!
Never grasp into the suction or discharge openings when the device is switched on.
    NOTE
If the SF 300 is unplugged while running, the ON/OFF buttons will automatically take the position “OFF”. After inserting the plug into the wall socket again, the black button “ON” has to be pressed again to switch on the SF 300.

    • Install a new prefilter so that the opening of the filter bags shows to the suction opening.
    • Install a microfilter afterwards.
    • Fix the two clamp screws centrally located on the edges of the filter and tighten the clamp screws.
    • NOTE!
The 90° bent sides of the clamp (2) should be positioned next to the outer wall of the filter compartment.
