Safety Instructions

  1. Do not use this unit before you have read the instruction manual carefully.

  2. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from steam vents, check the appliance before each use by holding it away from your body when operating.

  3. Do not put hot water into the water tank in order to avoid water tank transformation.

  4. Use appliance only for its intended use. Steam only in an up and down vertical motion. Never use the steamer in a horizontal position or tilt into a backward position.

  5. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

  6. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected to a power source.

  7. Never pull the cord to disconnect from outlets, instead grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

  8. Do not allow the cord to get in contact with any hot surface. Let the appliance cool completely before putting it away after use. Loop the cord loosely around the appliance when storing.
    Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the appliance! Bring it to a qualified service person for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock or injury to persons when the appliance is used.

  9. Indoor use only.

  10. Water should always be inserted into the water tank before starting the power.
    Burns could occur from touching hot parts, hot water, or steam

  11. After use, always remove the power plug from the socket.

  12. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they don’t play with appliance.

  13. Do not remove the water tank when the unit is working.

  14. Do not pull out the power cord from the outlet with wet hands.

CHAMPION CHHS210 Handheld Steamer-Fig1Your appliance has been designed to be used with tap water. If you live in an area with very hard water, fast-scale build-up may occur. Therefore we recommend that you use distilled water to prolong the lifetime of your product. Do not put perfume, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids, or other chemicals in the tank, as your appliance is not intended for other than water.

Use

The light goes on when the steamer is heating up. It goes out when the steamer has heated up sufficiently and is ready for use.

  • The brush attachment improves steam penetration into thick and heavy fabrics for faster results. It is meant to be used when the appliance is connected to the mains. Brush slowly with the bristles touching the garment.

  • Always unplug the steamer before you attach or detach the brush attachment. Be careful, the steamer head may still be hot.

  • Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents, or aggressive liquids such as alcohol, petrol or acetone to clean the appliance. Clean the appliance and wipe any deposits of the steamer head with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaning agent.

  • Always empty the water tank after use.

Troubleshooting

Problem

  • The appliance does not produce any steam.
  • Water droplets drip from the steamer head.
  • The steamer produces a pumping sound/the handle vibrates.
  • The steamer does not heat up.

Possible cause

  •  The steamer has not heated up sufficiently.

  • You have not pressed the steam trigger fully.

  • The water level in the water tank is too low.
    The water tank is not in place.

  •  You are holding the steamer up-side-down, which makes it impossible for the steamer to suck up the water from the tank.

  • You are holding the steamer in a horizontal position to steam a garment on a flat surface.

  • The water tank is not in place.

  • The steamer has not heated up sufficiently.

  • Water is pumped to the steamer head to be converted into steam.

  • There is a connection problem.

Solution

  • Let the steamer heat up for approx. 45 seconds. When the light goes out the steamer is ready for use.
  • Press the steam trigger fully.
  • Unplug the steamer and refill the water tank.
  • Insert the water tank properly.
  • Hold the steamer in an upright position.
  • The steamer is designed to be used upright on hanging garments. Do not use the steamer in a horizontal position.
  • Insert the water tank properly.
  • Let the steamer heat up for approx. 45 seconds. When the light goes out the steamer is ready for use.
  • This is normal.
  • Check if the mains plug is inserted properly in the wall socket and if the wall socket is working properly.
