A simple USB-powered HDMI to HDMI unit that extracts digital optical and/or analog audio from an HDMI source signal. Easy to install and operate, this handy little device is ideal for use with games consoles, LED TVs, projectors, and Blu-Ray players that have no optical audio or 3.5mm headphone output.

Connection Instructions

Connect an HDMI lead from your source device to the HDMI input port on the back of the unit (2).

Next, connect a 2 nd HDMI lead from the output port on the front of the unit (8) to your display device (TV, monitor, or projector).

Connect the 5V DC USB power lead supplied (4) to a suitable USB power supply (5V max.)

Finally, connect an optical (Toslink) cable to the Toslink output on the front of the unit (6) and a compatible digital audio source device (soundbar, amplifier or surround system).

For optional 3.5mm stereo output, connect either headphones or a compatible audio device using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable to the stereo audio port on the front of the unit (5)

Switch on the power to the unit and a red LED should illuminate the back of the unit (3)

Set the audio selection switch on the back of the unit (1) to the desired audio output as below: 2CH: Max. audio output via HDMI/Toslink is 2 channel stereo.
5.1CH: Max. audio output via HDMI/Toslink is 5.1 channel surround (DSD and HBR).
PASS: The unit directly reads the audio EDID information from the connected display device, and outputs correspondingly according to the highest compatible audio format that the device can support. -
If everything is connected correctly and all devices are compatible, the blue LED on the front of the unit (7) will illuminate to show the unit is functioning properly.

If there are any signal issues on the display device or connected audio device, please check the connections and cables accordingly.
