HOW TO MAKE THE PERFECT POUR OVER COFFEE
Dualit recommends using the Dualit Drip Through Coffee Filter with a No. 4 filter paper. If using the Dualit Handheld Grinder, we recommend using Grind Setting 10.
-
4.A
Add 7–15g per cup of medium-fine grind coffee depending on taste. The grind texture should resemble table salt/fine sugar. If using shop bought, look for coffee suitable for “All Coffee Machines”, “French Press” or “Filter Coffee”. -
4.B
To pre-infuse, set to 93°C/200°F then pour a small amount of water over the coffee. -
4.C
Wait a few seconds, then in a circular motion slowly pour the hot water over the coffee, making sure to cover all the grounds. The grounds will bloom, allow this to settle before adding more water. Never fill above the max marker/1cm below the filter paper lip, otherwise coffee grinds will end up in your drink. -
4.D
Continue to slowly add more water, roughly 50ml at a time, allowing the water to pass through the coffee before adding more. -
4.E
Keep an eye on the fill level of the cups and stop pouring when they are about ¾ full/250ml per cup. The entire pouring process should take between 2-3 minutes.
CLEANING & CARE
- 5.A
Before cleaning, make sure the appliance is switched off, unplugged and allowed to cool. Remove kettle from the power base. Wipe the outside and inside surfaces with a damp cloth. Ensure that all connectors and sockets are kept dry.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE BODY, POWER BASE, POWER CORD OR PLUG INTO WATER OR OTHER LIQUID. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK AND FIRE. DO NOT USE SHARP, ABRASIVE OR AGGRESSIVE CLEANING AGENTS, BLEACH OR SCOURING PADS TO CLEAN THE APPLIANCE. THE USE OF SUCH CLEANING IMPLEMENTS MAY AFFECT THE LIFE OF THE APPLIANCE.
LIMESCALE WARNING!
LIMESCALE BUILD UP
It is important to regularly descale your kettle to prevent limescale building
up over time. This build up can cause damage to your kettle and alter the way
your hot drinks taste. Follow these steps to minimise limescale build up in
your kettle: Empty the kettle after each use; do not leave water in the kettle
overnight. Use filtered water instead of tap water. Avoid using bottled water
as this is classed as hard water.
DESCALE REGULARLY
Dualit recommends descaling regularly; at least once a month. If you live in a
hard water area you may need to descale more often. See our Water Hardness map
to determine how often you should descale your kettle. Dualit commends Kilrock
K Multi-Purpose Descaler. This can be purchased from
www.dualit.com. Other descalers can be used; follow
the instructions on the packaging. When descaling has finished empty the
kettle and rinse it out a minimum of 3 times with fresh water. Refill with
fresh water, set to 100°C/212°F then discard the boiled water. FAILURE TO DO
SO CAN CAUSE INJURY. DO NOT HEAT KETTLE WITH DESCALING SOLUTION IN
IT.
