  • The level indicator inflates if the catcher is not full during the moving. (Fig. 3E)
  • If the catcher is full, the indicator collapses; once this happens, stop mowing immediately and empty the catcher, make sure it is clean and ensure its meshwork is ventilated. (Fig. 3D)

IMPORTANT:
If the position of indicator opening is very dirty, the indicator will not inflate. In this case, clean the position of indicator opening immediately.

ADJUSTMENT OF CUTTING HEIGHT

Apply outward pressure to disengage the lever from the rack. Move the lever forward or back to adjust the height. The height (the blade to the ground) can be adjusted from 25mm (position 1) to 75mm (position 7), 7 height positions. All wheels will be in the same height of cut.

WARNING : Make this adjustment only when the blade is stopped.
WARNING: Disconnect the electric cord from the power supply.

ADJUSTMENT FOR AN APPROPRIATE ANGLE

  1. Pull the locking lever opening;
  2. Rotating the upper handle centered of the angle adjusting gear for adjusted a appropriate angle into the scope -20º to 20º (5 position: -20º/-10º/0º/10º/20º) as the Fig.5 shown;
  3. Push the locking lever closed to connect the lower handle and the upper handle.

The lawn mower has 3 in 1 features:

  1. Rear grass collection.
  2. Grass mulching.
  3. Side-discharge.

What is mulching?
When mulching, the grass is cut in one working stage, then finely chopped and returned to the grass strip as natural fertilizer. Recommendations for mulch- mowing:

  • Cut your lawn regularly. Cut-back by a maximum of 2cm from grass of 6cm height.
  • Ensure the blade is sharp for best results – Do not mulch wet grass.
  • Only move at a walking pace.
  • Regularly clean mulching wedge, housing inner side and mowing blade.

ONE: Retrofitting for mulching mower

  1. Raise the rear cover and remove the grass catcher;
  2. Push the mulching wedge into the deck. Lock the mulching wedge with the button into the opening on the deck (Fig.6A/Fig 6B).
  3. Lower the rear cover again.

TWO: Resetting for side-discharge mowing

  1. Lift the rear cover and remove the grass catch bag.
  2. Mount the Mulching wedge. (Fig 6A/Fig.6B)
  3. Lift sideward flap for side discharge (Fig 6C)
  4. Mount the discharge guide for side discharge on the support pin of the sideward flap. (Fig 6C/Fig.6D)
  5. Lower the sideward flap- the flap lies on the discharge channel. (Fig 6E)

THREE: Mowing with the grass catch bag
WARNING: only with a stopped motor and standstill cutter.

For mowing with the grass catch bag, remove the mulching wedge and discharge channel for side discharge and mount the grass catch bag.

  1. Removing the mulching wedge Lift rear cover and remove the mulching wedge.
  2. Removing the discharge guide for side discharge:
  3. Mount the grass catch bag:
  4. To fit: Raise the rear cover and hitch the grass catcher on rear of mower. (Fig.3A/Fig.3B)
  5. To remove: grasp and lift the rear cover, remove grass catcher.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  1. Always operate with the deflector or grass catcher in the correct position.
  2. Always stop the motor before removing the grass catcher or adjusting the height of cutting position.
  3. Before mowing, remove all foreign objects from the lawn which may be thrown by the machine. While mowing, stay alert for any foreign objects which may have been missed. (Fig.7A)

.

BLADE

The blade is made of pressed steel. It will be necessary to reshape it frequently (with a grinding wheel). Ensure that it is always balanced (an unbalanced blade will cause dangerous vibrations). To check for balance, insert a round rod through the central hole and support the blade horizontally. A balance blade will remain horizontal. If the blade is not balanced the heavy end will rotate downwards. Reshape the heavy end until the blade is currently balanced. To remove the blade (2), unscrew the blade screw (3). Check the conditions of the fan (1), and replace any parts, which are damaged. When reassembling, make sure that the cutting edges face in the direction of the motor rotation. The blade screw (3) must be torque to 25NM.

Cobra-MX46SPE-18-Inch-Electric-Powered-
Lawnmower-16EXTENSION CORDS

You should only use extension cords for outdoor use, PVC ordinary duty with a cross sectional area not less than 1.0mm² (not light than H05VV-F 2×1.0mm2).
Before using, check the supply and extension cords for signs of damaged during use, disconnect the cord for signs of damage or aging. If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn. Keep extension cords away from cutting elements.

  7. If the V-belt is defective.
  8. Use only manufacturer’s recommended replacement parts and accessories.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Motor does not run| check mains connection cable

Start on short grass or on an area which has already been mown. Clean discharge channel/housing –the mowing blade must rotate freely. Disconnect the power supply first.

Correct the cutting height.

---|---
Motor power drops| Raise the cutting height, in long grass. Clean discharge channel/housing.

Check the cutting blade’s sharpness, replace as necessary.

Grass catcher is not filled| Very long grass may require a higher cutting height.

Wet grass is more prone to clogging – allow the lawn to dry Check the cutting blade’s sharpness, replace as necessary.

Clean the grille and fabric of the grass catcher, to improve air flow.

Clean the discharge channel / housing – Disconnect the power first.

Wheel drive does not function| Adjust the flexible cable.

Check the V-belt / gears – refer to your local service centre. Check the drive wheels for damage.

Warning: before performing any maintenance or cleaning work, always pull out the mains plug and
wait until the cutter has come to a standstill.
