  • Up to 4x D1212, D1224, or D3284 drive enclosures, or a combination of the enclosures connected to one or two DX8200N nodes by using dual redundant host-to-ESM connections:
    • Each node has two N2226 HBAs.
    • Each port on the first N2226 HBA in the first node is connected to the Port A on the first ESM in separate drive enclosures.
    • Each port on the first N2226 HBA in the second node is connected to the Port B on the first ESM in separate drive enclosures.
    • Each port on the second N2226 HBA in the first node is connected to the Port A on the second ESM in separate drive enclosures.
    • Each port on the second N2226 HBA in the second node is connected to the Port B on the second ESM in separate drive enclosures.
    • No daisy chaining of the enclosures is allowed.
  • Up to 8x D1212, D1224, or D3284 drive enclosures, or a combination of the enclosures connected to one or two DX8200N nodes by using single host-to-ESM connections:
    • Each node has one (up to four drive enclsoures) or two (up to eight drive enclsoures) N2226 HBAs.
    • Each port on the N2226 HBAs in the first node is connected to the Port A on the first ESM in separate drive enclosures.
    • Each port on the N2226 HBAs in the second node is connected to the Port A on the second ESM in separate drive enclosures.
    • No daisy chaining of the enclosures is allowed.

Note: Each model of the Lenovo Storage DX8200N includes one or two N2226 HBAs.
The following figures show the connectivity topology for the two-node high availability cluster with single or dual redundant ESM connections to the D1212, D1224, or D3284 drive enclosures. With one node, only Port A on each ESM is used.

The Lenovo Storage DX8200N supports the following systems management tools:

  • Integrated Management Module 2.1
  • Light path diagnostics
  • Lenovo XClarity
  • Nexenta Management View
  • Lenovo XClarity Energy Manager

Integrated Management Module 2.1
The Lenovo Storage DX8200N contains Integrated Management Module II (IMM2.1), which provides advanced service-processor control, monitoring, and an alerting function.
The Integrated Management Module Advanced Upgrade comes standard with the appliances, and it provides a virtual presence for remote management capabilities of the appliances.
The IMM provides remote appliance management through industry-standard interfaces:

  • Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) Version 2.0
