Bolt
Panel Antenna Version 4
Quick Start Guide

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

A : 2dBi Omnidirectional antenna
B : RP-SMA connectors (horizontal)
C : RP-SMA connectors (vertical)
D : Battery plate
E: Yoke assembly
F : 3/8” Light stand adapter
OMNIDIRECTIONAL ANTENNA
The included omnidirectional antenna ( A ) can receive a signal from your transmitter even when placed behind the Panel Antenna and supports a wider spectrum (4.9-7.3 GHz).

TERADEK BOLT PANEL ANTENNA V.4

The Bolt Panel Antenna v.4 is your go-to solution for cutting through wireless interference in crowded environments. When attached to a Bolt 4K receiver, the antenna provides an extremely robust, directional signal that will ensure your transmission arrives uninterrupted. The Bolt Panel Antenna offers a more resilient wireless transmission, especially in challenging RF conditions, by focusing the signal and reducing interference. As a result, you may achieve a boost in the reception range but it will not be above the maximum range.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • 1x Bolt Array Antenna Assembly (Gold or V-mount)
  • 5x RP-SMA Male to RP-SMA Male 4in/10cm Cable
  • 1x 2dBi Omnidirectional Antenna

POWER AND CONNECT

  1. Connect the output from your video source to either the SDI or HDMI input on the transmitter.

  2. Attach antennas to the transmitter.

  3. Mount the receiver to the back of the Panel Antenna, then connect the five RP-SMA connectors to the center connectors labeled V using the included extension cables. If the transmitter is using horizontal antennas, attach the receiver’s two outward connectors to the antenna’s two external connectors labeled H instead (see images below).
NOTE: Ensure that the 2dBi omnidirectional antenna is attached at all times when using the Panel Antenna.

  4. Connect power to both the transmitter and receiver with the included A/C adapter or optional battery plate accessory. If using a battery plate, connect a compatible (AB Gold mount or V-Lock) battery.

  5. Move the power switches on both the transmitter and receiver to the ON position. Video appears within a few seconds.

ANTENNA RECEIVE PATTERN

The Bolt Panel Antenna includes an omnidirectional antenna with a receive pattern that varies based on its distance from the transmitter. The horizontal receive angle measures 55° at 5,000 ft (1.5 km), 104° at 4,000 ft (1.25 km), and is effectively omnidirectional at up to 500 ft (150 m). The vertical receive angle measures 20° at any distance.

MOUNTING

The Bolt Panel Antenna has three 3/8” threaded holes: One on the bottom for mounting the included light stand adapter or any 3/8” mounting accessory, and one on each side to mount to a yoke mount bracket assembly.

  • Mount the Panel Antenna vertically, keeping it clear of any obstructions.
  • Orient the transmitter and receiver so they are parallel to each other.
  • For best results, orient the Panel Antenna so the front (with the Teradek logo) has a clear line of sight to the transmitter.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN SCREWS INSERTED INTO THE RECEIVER’S 3/8” THREADED HOLES. Doing so can damage the receiver’s chassis, voiding the warranty.
