SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical fans basic safety precautions should always be followed including the precautions given below :

  • Use this fan only as described in this manual. Other uses are not recommended and may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
  • To protect against electrical shock do not immerse the fan, plug, or cord in water or spray with liquids. Close supervision is necessary when the fan is used near children.
  • Unplug the fan from the outlet socket when not in use or when moving the fan from one place to another or before cleaning.
  • Avoid contact with moving parts of the fan.
  • Do not operate in presence of explosive and/or inflammable gas.
  • Do not place a fan or any part near an open flame, cooking, or any other heating appliance.
  • Do not operate the fan with a damaged cord plug or after the fan malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • Do not let the cord come in contact with a hot surface. For shifting the fan from one place to another make sure that the cord is removed from the socket.
  • Always use it on a dry level surface.
  • Never connect the fan to any power source other than 220-240V, AC, SOHz Supply.
  • Do not run cord under carpet. Do not cover the cord with throw rugs, runners, or like. Arrange cord away from traffic areas where there is a possibility of tripping over.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • For fans intended to be mounted at a high level, the fan is to be installed so that the blades are more than 2,3 m above the floor.

WARNING

  • Do not insert a finger or any object through the guard.
  • Do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device.
  • There are no consumer serviceable parts Inside this fan.
  • Do not attempt to open/repair the fan on your own, doing so could cause damage to the fan and/or lead to personal injury.
  • Users are not supposed to replace other than Orient spare parts in Orient products in case of any defect and must be serviced through Orient authorized service center only.
  • Supply Cord: Type Y Attachment – If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent, or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

DISPOSAL:

  • Do not dispose of electrical fans/accessories (including packing materials) as unsorted municipal waste, use separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regarding the collection systems available. If these are disposed of in landfills or dumps, it may affect the environment adversely.

Unpack the Packing box and take out the following contents :

  • Bracket and Motor Assembly
  • Wall mounting bracket
  • Guard & Blade Assembly.
  • Remote handset Mounting Bracket and 2 nos.
  • 5 v size ‘AAA’ Batteries.
  • Clean dirt if any.

Please save the box for the off-season.

  • Take out the mounting bracket(1) given separately and fix it. it by 2-nos. No.9X40 long wood screw(2) horizontally in the proper direction on the wall where the fan is desired to be

  • Take out the remote bracket (1A) from the remote control and fix it. it is by 2 nos. No.-6×20 fond wood screw (2A) at a suitable position on the wall (fig.!)

  • Place the fan on a firm level surface & Mount the fan on the bracket previously fixed on the **Unscrew Blade Fixing Nut (4) from the Spindle by rotating in a clockwise direction and Back Guard clamping nut (5) from the motor cover (6) by rotating anticlockwise.
    **

  • Place the back guard (12) on the motor cover (9) using two locating pegs (6) on the motor cover. Tighten fully Back Guard (12) by guard clamping plastic nut (5). Remove spindle protector (8) from the spindle. Slide the blade onto the spindle up to cross locating pin (7) Now tighten the blade (11) by blade fixing nut (4) in an anticlockwise direction as it has a left-hand thread. Place the Front guard (10) pre-assembled with clamping ring (13), on Back Guard in a position such that the “Orient Electric” logo on the front Guard Trim becomes horizontal. Secure the assembly by tightening the screws (14) provided on the bottom side of the Guard Ring (Fig-2).

  • NOW THE FAN IS READY TO BE SWITCHED ON.
    RUNNING
    Insert the plug of the power cord into any standard 220V-240V, 50 HzAC outlet.
    Tilting-
    Hold the fan guard, loosen Hinge Thumb Screw (3), tilt the fan to the desired position, and tighten Hinge Thumb Screw (3) (Fig. – 3)

In-built ventilated type speed regulator.

OPERATION INSTRUCTION

BREEZE
Press once for breeze & press again to switch this function off. Note that when the mode of breeze is selected, the fan will continually cycle through High, Medium, and low speeds.

OSCILLATION
Press once for oscillation & press again to switch this function off.

SPEED
Press once for low speed, twice for medium speed, three times for high speed & press again to revert to low speed, etc. OFF Press to switch off.

TIMER
To set the timer, press the button repeatedly. With every press, ‘A hour is added to the time after which the fan will automatically switch off. The timer setting is indicated by the 4 lights on the remote panel. Please sec Fig.4 to know after how many hours the Ian will switch off.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Removed the battery compartment cover
Insert two pieces of 1.5 V size “AAA” batteries with the correct polarity as indicated by (I) and (-) symbols (Fig.5)
Replace the battery compartment cover.

NOTE- Remove batteries when they are exhausted or the remote control is not to be used for a long time.
Automatically Operated Devices. To reduce the risk of injury, disconnect from the power supply before servicing.

CLEANING / MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION

During season care

  • Before cleaning, ensure that the power supply is switched off and the plug is pulled out of the power supply socket.
  • To clean the fan, carefully wipe the unit with a soft and clean cloth.
  • DO NOT Immerse the fan in water and never allow water to drip into the Motor Housing.
  • Never use gasoline, benzene or thinner to clean the fan. This will damage the surface of the unit.
  • After cleaning, be sure to completely dry the unit with a cloth or towel.

After season care

  • Your fan can be stored in the off-season.
  • Before putting the fan in storage, clean it thoroughly, cover it with a vinyl bag, and store it in a cool & dry place. We recommend using the original ( or appropriate sized )
