Introduction
The BaoFeng BL-5L is a BL-5 series Li-ion Battery. These batteries come with battery protections that protect your battery from over-charging, short- circuiting, over-heating, over-current protection, etc. It is a tactical addition to your ham radio go kit. It doubles the battery life of your UV-5R series radio as compared to the BL-5 battery. It provides an extended long- life replacement battery for the UV-5R and BF-F8Ho Series BaoFeng radios. The battery life is increased to such an extent that the average user can go for up to 2 days without requiring a charge, whereas light users can up to a week without requiring a charge. Another feature is that it adds 1.5” of length and 3 ounces as compared to UV-5R with a stock BL-5 battery. This provides a more solid feel of the radio while in hand.
The battery can be recharged using the BTECH BT1013 USB charging cable. The BL-5L provides an additional 7.4 V charging port which allows the battery to be charged without requiring the use of a CH-5 charging base.
The battery is made with upgraded chips and a premium Li-ion battery, which makes it safe and durable. It is compatible with BF-F8HP, UV-5X3, and UV-5R and its variants.

How to charge the battery?
The BaoFeng BTECH BL-5L battery can be charged using multiple charging options. It can be charged using the already included charger of BF-F8HP, UV- 5X3 and UV-5R. It allows direct DC charging using the 2.5mm barrel plug on the side. It can also be used with a BTECH BT1013 USB charging cable.
