GETTING STARTED

This unit ships with the following items. Please check to see that all items are present.

  1.  iZ44 speaker
  2.  USB Charging Cable

MAINTENANCE

  • Place the unit on a level surface away from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat.
  • Protect your furniture when placing your unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth or other protective material should be placed between it and the furniture.
  • Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents such as thinner or similar materials can damage the surface of the unit.
  • This product is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

CHARGING THE IZ44
Connect the small plug of the included USB charging cable to the USB port on the back of the unit. Connect the other end to a powered USB port.iHome-iZ44

POWER ON/OFF
Press the Power Button to turn the unit ON or OFF.
Note: The last sound and/or light modes will automatically save when the unit is powered OFF.

LED INDICATORS
Charging LED:
Fast flash red = battery low
When connected to USB:
Solid red = charging
LED off = fully charged

RESET
In the event of interrupted operation, use the extended tip of a paper clip or other thin tool to press in the Reset button.

SOOTHING SOUND MODES
Sound Therapy uses specially recorded and engineered sounds to allow your baby to relax. Press any one of three Soothing Sound Buttons (Lullaby, White Noise or Nature) to access Soothing Sound modes. Press and release the button repeatedly to cycle to each mode.

LULLABY
Brahms: Classical music has a soothing and calming effect Silent Night: An instrumental version of the classic song Twinkle: An instrumental version of the classic song

WHITE NOISE
Air: Brown noise is a low-toned repeating frequency, like a fan Focus: Pink noise is a medium-toned repeating frequency, like a waterfall
Quiet: The standard white noise repeating frequency, like radio
NATURE (Authentic, Digitally Recorded Nature Sounds)
Nature: Springtime woodland sounds
Ocean: Waves crashing on a beach
Storm: Subtle thunder and strong rainfall
OFF:
Press and hold any of the Soothing Sound buttons (Lullaby, White Noise, or Nature) to turn off the preset sounds.

SOUND TIMER
When any Soothing Sound Mode is active, press the Sound Timer Button as needed to cycle to the desired timer duration: 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, and OFF.
Press and hold the Sound Timer Button for 2 seconds to cancel timer mode.

LIGHT MODES
Press the Light Mode Button repeatedly to cycle through 4 light modes:

  • High
  • Middle
  • Low
  • Off

LIGHT TIMER
When Light Mode is active, press the Light Timer Button as needed to cycle to the desired timer duration: 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, and OFF.
Press and hold the Light Timer Button for 2 seconds to cancel timer mode.

INTERNAL RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY
This device uses an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery that should last the lifetime
of the device. If you suspect your battery may be dead, try charging it several times.

WARNING/DISPOSAL OF UNIT
Do NOT attempt to change the battery. Doing so will void the warranty and could cause injury and damage to your device. To dispose of the unit, follow the instructions below:

  • Ne ver dispose of used batteries/electronics with ordinary solid wastes, since they may contain toxic substances.
  • Always dispose of used batteries/electronics in accordance with the prevailing community regulations.
  • Many electronics retailers now recycle batteries and other electronic components at no charge. To find a drop-off location near you, visit www.call2recycle.com

GENERAL BATTERY PRECAUTIONS

  • Never use or charge a battery if it appears to be leaking, discolored, deformed, or in any way abnormal.
  • Never disassemble the unit or attempt to remove battery as that could cause leakage of alkaline solution or other electrolytic substances.
  • Avoid charging a rechargeable battery when the temperature is not within 5°C – 35° C (41° – 95° Fahrenheit).
  • Never expose a battery to any liquid.
  • Never expose a battery to excessive heat such as direct sunlight or fire. Never use a battery pack in an unventilated vehicle where excessive internal temperatures may be encountered.
  • Always keep batteries out of the reach of infants and small children.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please heed all warnings, read and follow all instructions and keep these instructions handy for future reference.

  1. Unplug unit and clean only with damp cloth. Stronger cleaning agents, such as Benzene, thinner or similar materials can damage the surface of the unit.
  2. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3.  Heat – This product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  4.  Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  5.  Unplug this product during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  6.  Damage Requiring Service – This product should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
    • Plug has been damaged.
    •  Objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.
    • The unit has been exposed to rain. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
    • The unit exhibits a marked change in performance or does not operate normally.
  7.  No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on this product.
  8.  Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
  9.  This product is suitable for use in tropical and/or moderate climates.

WARNING:

  •  To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this product to rain or moisture
  • Do not dispose of batteries in the household trash or fire.
  • The mains plug of power adaptor is used as the disconnect device, it shall remain readily operable.
  • If the unit is to be unused for an extended period of time, such as a month or longer, charge the unit fully before storage.
  • Always use a UL/ETL certified charging adapter (not included), and the supplied USB charging cable. 6
