Key
safety Information
- To reduce the risk of theft, the safe must be affixed to the wall or floor.
- Keep the emergency key in a secret place. Do not put the emergency keys inside the safe. Otherwise, you will not be able to open the safe with the emergency key if the battery is dead.
- Do not place the product in an insecure and elevated place. Never spill liquid over the control panel, or it may cause electrical shock to the electronic parts inside and disable their proper functions.
- Never try to dismantle the product by yourself. Unguided dismantling and incorrect reassembly of the inside of the back cover may damage the electrical circuit and affect its performance. Where maintenance is required, please contact your local service center or local distributor.

Warranty
1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
WHAT IS COVERED
Defiant Safes are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase by a consumer. This warranty extends to the initial consumer only.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This warranty does not cover any product, or any part of any product, which
has been subject to excessive use, accident, negligence, abuse or misuse,
incorrect maintenance, alteration or repair by anyone other than Defiant. In
addition, this warranty does not cover any accessories or parts used with or
in the product, which are not included with the original purchase.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Securing Your Safe
BOLTING DOWN THE SAFE
This case is designed to be bolted down for maximum security. For optimal performance, the safe should be installed in an isolated, dry, and secure area.
- Place the safe in the desired location. Mark the mounting holes. If bolting to a wall, make sure that your safe is resting on a supporting surface.
- Remove the safe and drill holes for the sleeve anchor bolts.
- Insert the bolts and secure the safe by tightening the bolts.
WARNING
- The safe needs to be in an upright position for optimum performance. Failure to store the safe in the correct upright position will compromise the safety and security of the safe.
- This safe should always be kept out of the reach of children.
Operation
Opening Your Safe For the First Time
- Remove the emergency lock cover.
- Insert the emergency key and unlock the safe.
- Turn the knob to open the door of the safe.
Installing Batteries
- Keep the door open.
- Open the battery compartment and insert four AA batteries (not included). Make sure that the batteries match the + and – in the compartment.
NOTE
- Replace batteries if the low battery light is on.
- Do not use rechargeable batteries or any other type of non-alkaline battery. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline and standard batteries.
Setting the Master Code
- With the door open, press O twice and then press the Reset Button. The yellow smiley face will flash three times and you will hear three beeps. Now it’s ready to set the master code.
- Enter the new code (3-8 digits) on the keypad, then press the CLEAR / LOCK button to confirm. The smiley face will flash twice, and it will beep twice to confirm the master code is accepted.
NOTE
- The factory default code is 159. Change it immediately.
- Before you close the door, try the new code to make sure it works.
Programming or Changing User Code
- With the door open, press the Reset Button. The yellow smiley face will blink twice, and you will hear two beeps.
- Enter a new user code (3-8 digits) on the keypad, then press the CLEAR / LOCK button to confirm. The smiley face will flash twice, and it will beep twice to confirm the user code is accepted.
- Before you close the door, try the new code to make sure it works.
Opening Your Safe After the First Time
- Enter your user code. Press the CLEAR / LOCK button to confirm.
- The green OK light will turn on.
- Rotate the knob to open the safe door.
- Use the emergency key to open the safe if you do not know the codes or if there is an electronic circuit malfunction.
Automatic Lockout
- If an incorrect code is entered, the safe will beep three times and the yellow smiley face will flash three times.
- Three additional safe entries will lock the safe for 20 seconds. Six additional incorrect entries will lock the safe for five minutes.
- The emergency key can be used to open the safe during the lockout.
