Operating Instruction
Low Pressure System
Once your CryoFX CO, System s installed and/or hooked up and ready to use, please follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth operation and safe environment both before and after your intended use. We have included both High Pressure and Low Pressure Systems as they slightly differ.
To determine whether you have a High Pressure or Low Pressure system, first determine what type of tank you have by matching it with the images shown on our CO„ Options & Info Sheet.
Options below marked with an * are generally for mobile applications and are optional on fixed or permanent systems that are not mobile or will be used again in same location.
A Low Pressure System is most commonly used in larger venues or applications where there is a fixed or installed system, but is not the only system available. If your tanks match any one of those pictured above under the “Low Pres-sure” category, please follow this quick reference guide before and after use.
Before use:
- Connect hose to CO, tank(s).
- Ensure the hose is connected and attached to the corresponding unit (Cryo Gun, CO, Jet, etc.)
- Ensure all connections to tank(s) are tight and secure.
- 3 hours before use, locate pressure gauge on CO, Dewar tank. If pressure is 200psi to 350psi, return to tank just before use and continue with step 6 below. Double check valve labeled “Pressure Building” is in the OFF position by twisting valve clock-wise. If pressure is below 200psi, locate the valve on Dewar tank labeled “Pressure Build ing” and turn valve counter-clockwise until it stops. - Return back to tank periodically 1 hour, 2 hours, 2.5 hours and 3 hours, or as necessary, after completing step 4 above, to check pressure gauge. Once pressure gauge reads 275-350psi, turn “Pressure Building” valve off by twisting clock-wise. (Note: There will be a buildup of white frost around the top of the tank and the pressure build er valves and tubing, this is normal.)
- Locate valve labeled “Liquid” on CO, Dewar tank.
- Slowly turn on CO, at tank(s) by twisting valve counter-clockwise to start flow of CO,.
- Check connections between hose/tank(s) and hose/unit for leaks. Immediately turn off valve on CO, Tank(s), by twisting clock-wise, if you notice major leaks. Contact CryoFX at this point.
- Depress handle on Cryo Gun or activate CO, Jet until white fog ejects. (Note: this may take 2-6 seconds before appearing as the hose is clearing out air first)
- Once white fog comes out, continue to use. (Note: after a period of time without use, you may experience a few seconds of no fog when using again on the first use after this period of time. This is normal as some of the liquid CO, has turned to gas already towards the end of the hose closest to where the CO2 is ejected.)
- Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and Dos and Don’ts which can be found at www.CryoFX.com under “Prod uct Knowledge” tab.
After Use
- Return to tank(s) and turn off valve labeled “Liquid” by twisting clock-wise until completely closed.
- Return back to Cryo Gun or CO, Jet and depress handle/activate unit, as you would with normal operation, until all pressure is released from the system. (Note: After a few seconds of doing this, you will experience no white fog coming out but air still discharging. This is normal as the liquid has already turned into gas inside the hose and still needs to be cleared from the system. This may be loud at times.)
- Once all pressure is released, disconnect hose from Cryo Gun/CO, Jet.
- Disconnect hose from CO, tank(s).
