VITAL 04877 Massage Mat Chair
Intended Use
The device is intended for massaging your back/buttocks and thighs and is used for relaxation. It is not a replacement for the medically required treatment.
- Never stand on the device.
- Do not use the device before going to bed. The massage has a stimulating effect, which may lead to problems getting to sleep.
- The device is not designed to be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
- The device is for personal use only and is not intended for commercial applications.
- Use the device only as described in the instructions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
- The following are excluded from the warranty: all defects caused by improper handling, damage or unauthorised attempts at repair. This also applies to normal wear and tear.
Safety Instructions
This device should not be used by people (including children) with impaired sensory or mental faculties or who do not have adequate experience and/or knowledge of such devices, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or have received instructions from such a person on how to use the device.
- Children must not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by children unless they are supervised.
- Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept away from the device and the mains cable.
- Babies and sleeping or unconscious people may not be placed on the device.
When the heat function is switched on, the device has a hot surface. People who due to illness or for other reasons are not sensitive to heat must not use the heat function.

Do not use the device if the massage mat is still damp. It must be completely dry before the device can be switched back on again.

Do not switch on the device when it is folded up and allow the device to cool down before you fold it up and store it away.

Do not insert any safety pins, drawing pins or other pointed objects into the device.

Do not use the mains adapter with another device and never use the device with another mains adapter.

The device should only be used and stored out of the reach of children and animals. Improper use can lead to injuries and electric shock.

The device must always be disconnected from the mains power
when left unattended and before cleaning it. -
Check the device for damage each time before you use it. Only use the device if the device, mains cable and mains adapter have no signs of damage! If the device, the mains cable or the mains adapter are damaged, they must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service department or a specialist workshop in order to avoid any hazards.

Dangers for the Following Groups of People
- Pregnant women should not use the device or use it only after consultation with their doctor.
- People with a pacemaker may use the device only after consultation with their doctor.
- People who have no feeling in their neck or back or people with circulation problems may not use the device.
- Do not use the device on swelling or sore areas of the skin.
- If you have any concerns about your health, consult a doctor before using the device.
DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock from Water
Should the device fall into the water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do not attempt to pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains’ power!
- Never touch the device, mains cable or mains adapter with wet hands when these components are connected to the mains power.
- Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned or been dropped in water. Have it checked in a specialist workshop before using it again?
WARNING – Danger of Electric Shock from Damage and Inappropriate Use
The main adapter should only be connected to a properly installed socket with safety contacts. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the rating plate of the device and the mains adapter.
- Only use suitable extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device and the mains adapter.
- The device must be switched off when the mains adapter is pulled out or inserted into the plug socket.
Danger of Injury
- The danger of Suffocation! Keep children and animals away from the packaging material.
- The device may only be used by people who are able to handle the controller.
- Danger of tripping! Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard.
Danger of Fire
- Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable or explosive substances.
- To prevent overheating, do not use the device under a blanket or similar cover. Do not place the mains cable or the controller on or beneath the device during operation.
- Unwind the main cable fully before connecting the main adapter.
Risk of Damage to Material and Property
- Keep the device away from sharp objects.
- The device may only be used when you are seated.
- Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces..
- Switch off the device and pull the mains adapter out of the plug socket if an error occurs during operation or before a thunderstorm.
- When the mains adapter is removed from the plug socket, always pull on the mains adapter and never the mains cable.
- Do not pull or carry the device by the main cable. Never wind the main cable around the device or the main adapter.
- Use only original spare parts from the manufacturer. If accessory parts which are not authorised by the manufacturer are used, all warranty and guarantee claims are void.
- Never place heavy objects on the device or the main cable.
- Protect the device from heat sources, naked flames, sub-zero temperatures, persistent moisture, wet conditions and impacts.

Controller
By pressing the buttons on the controller, you can select the following functions
- WÄRME (HEAT) Switch the heat on and off 9 INT Set the massage strength. There are 4 intensity levels.
- 10 MODUS (MODE) Switch forward to the next massage programme. There are a total of 5 massage programmes, including AUTO, in which the 4 different types of massage are run through automatically. 11 OBEN (UPPER) / UNTEN (LOWER) / HÜFTE (HIPS) / BEIN (LEG) Deactivate and reactivate individual massage zones.
- TIMER Select the duration of the massage. After 15, 30 or 60 minutes, the device switches off automatically.
- LEDs indicate the activated massage zones.
- PWR switch the device on and off. After switch-on, the AUTO programme is automatically activated for all massage zones.
- The activated function is indicated by the respective LEDs.
Before Initial Use
Check the items supplied for completeness (see “Items Supplied” chapter) and any transport damage. If you find any damage to the components, do not (!) use them, but contact our customer service department. Remove any films or stickers that may be present from the device and accessories.
Use
PLEASE NOTE!
- Do not use it in bed. Do not fall asleep during use.
- The device must not be folded up or covered when it is switched on. Do not place the mains cable or the controller on or beneath the device during operation.
- Place the massage seat cushion on a chair, for example, and pull the fastening elastic bands over the backrest so that the seat cushion does not slip.
- Connect the main cable to the connecting socket on the device and insert the main plug of the adapter into an easily accessible plug socket.
- Sit down on the massage seat cushion and lean back.
- Take the controller in your hand and press the PWR button. The AUTO massage programme will then start. By pressing the buttons on the controller, you can set the massage to your liking and activate the heat function (see the “Device Overview” chapter – “Controller”). You can also switch on the heat function exclusively by pressing the WÄRME (HEAT) button instead of the PWR button.
- Set the massage/heating duration (15, 30 or 60 minutes) with the TIMER button. We recommend that you choose 15 minutes.
- You can keep the controller inside the pocket on the side of the device during use.
- When the set time has elapsed, the device switches off automatically. You can also switch it off at any time by pressing the PWR button.
- Remove the mains adapter from the plug socket and disconnect the cable from the device.
- Allow the device to cool down if the heat function was activated before you put it away or clean it (see “Cleaning and Storage” chapter).
Cleaning and Storage
- Before commencing the cleaning, note the safety instructions in the “Safety Instructions” chapter!
- Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the device. These could damage the surfaces.
- Make sure that the device is not connected to the mains’ power and has cooled down. ï Clean the device only with a slightly damp cloth. When storing it away, do not press the device together too strongly and do not use force. It could be damaged to keep the device in its respective packaging in a dry place which is protected from sunlight and is not accessible to children and animals.
Troubleshooting
If the device stops working properly, first check whether you are able to correct the problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps that are listed, contact the customer service department.
Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself!
