Installation Guide
Parts List and Bike Preparation
Please be sure to read our instructions thoroughly before attempting installation.
- Check the parts list supplied with your kit to be sure all parts are handy.
- First, park the motorcycle on hard pavement or concrete to insure the bike will be stable during the installation. If you can mount the bike on a stand with tie-down straps, this will help secure the motorcycle.
- Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for disconnecting the battery. This is important to prevent damage to the electrical system.
D50 – Fork Mount Parts List (2014-2019)
Clearwater lights include a simple and high-quality means of connecting to the motorcycle’s electrical system. “Posi” devices made by Posi-Products are used to securely and safely make electrical connections on the bike. You can view instructions on the proper installation of the Posi-Products on the manuals page of our website or on Posi- Product’s website at http://www.posi- lock.com. They simply screw together and mate the wires.

Note: The engine needs to be running for lights to work
Fork Mount Overview:
- Your RTW has a fork guard on the fork tubes that interferes with mounting your Darla lights. Loosen the guard and continue with the installation. Once your lights have been installed, tighten the guard back to the fork.
- Attach the two clamp halves to the bottom of the machined fork tube using the supplied M3 x 10mm bolts as shown in the exploded view below.
- Attach the universal bracket to the Darla Light using two M6 x 14 bolts and two M6 flat washers.
- Attach the universal bracket to the clamp with one M10 x 20 bolt and one M10 flat washer.
- Route the wires from the lights up the brake lines, making sure not to kink the grommet at the light. Run wires to the right-hand side of the bike, leave the wires loose for now.

Aligning the Lights:
Ask an assistant to help you with this procedure. Make sure the bike is on level ground and have an assistant sit on the bike. With a right-angle board or object, position the board on the floor and slide it up to the light.
The goal is to adjust the lights so that the light is level with the ground.
Passengers and luggage may alter the alignment of the light, so further
adjustments may be needed.
You may find that a slight downward angle (5 degrees) is helpful.

Wiring
- Remove both seats from the bike and set them aside.
- RTWs have a TPM (Tire Pressure Monitor) under the passenger seat, in the back of the bike. Unplug the wiring harness from it and plug your Clearwater CANopener in its place. Then plug the wiring harness into the CANopener.
- Route the wires from the CANopener along with the main wiring on the Right Side of the bike to the front. Leave the wires hanging here for now.
- Secure the CANopener to the plastic inner fender with provided velcro. Be sure to clean any dirt or dust from the area before affixing the CANopener. Connect the green connector data cable to the CANopener.
Wire Routing:
- While routing wires be sure that they cannot become tangled or caught in either suspension or steering parts. Check movement of both steering and suspension before riding the bike.
- Mount the harness on the right side of the bike (right side faring will need to be removed).
- The Darla light wires will need to be routed up to the Clearwater Lights harness. Darla light extensions may need to be used.
- Connect the green connector from the Clearwater Lights harness to the green connector to the CANopener. Use the green connector extension cable.
- Remove the fuse from the fuse holder on the Clearwater Lights power wire. Route the power wires from the Clearwater Lights harness to the battery, connect the BLACK wire ring terminal to the negative battery terminal, then the RED ring terminal to the positive battery terminal.
Reinsert the fuse into the fuse holder of the Clearwater Lights system.
Note: To test/run the Clearwater Lights, the bike must be fully running.
The Dallas should go to 100% brightness when the high beam is pressed. Refer
to the CANopener Manual to learn how to adjust the brightness of the lights
and for further setting options.
Be sure all wires are tucked out of the way, securing was needed with the
included zip ties. Reinstall side and battery covers, verify that no wires
interfere with the steering or suspension parts of your bike, and enjoy!
Hints & Tips:
Do Not Kink The Grommet
To maintain the integrity of the water sealing grommet, do not kink, deform or
put pressure on the grommet when dressing the wires during install of
Clearwater Lights.
