USING ALGIZ 12XR

Before turning the unit on, make sure that the tablet is either connected to AC Adapter or Battery Pack.

AC Adapter

The ALGIZ 12XR power supply comprises the power adapter and the battery pack. The power adapter converts AC power from a wall outlet to the DC power required by the ALGIZ 12XR. Your ALGIZ 12XR comes with a universal AC-DC adapter. That means that you may connect the power cord to any 100V -120Vas well as 220V-240V outlets without using power converters. Different countries may require an adapter to be used to connect the supplied standard AC power cord to a different standard.

Battery Pack

The ALGIZ 12XR is designed to work with two types of battery. A standard battery with 3640mAh and an extended battery with double the capacity. The battery life especially depends on the battery’s condition,
tablet usage, as well as the temperature.

The power rating and manufacturer information are listed as below. For safety reason, the adapter power cord must be connected to safety ground.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to fix or replace the battery, as this may cause an explosion! Only use the specified battery and follow the instructions in the manufacturer’s user manual.

Insertion of the Battery Pack

Removal of the Battery Pack

Charging the Battery

When the power adapter is plugged in, the battery automatically recharges regardless of whether your tablet PC is in the ON or OFF mode. It takes a couple of hours for the battery to be fully charged when the power is OFF and twice as long when the tablet PC is in use. When Tablet battery is low capacity and charging needed, the Red indicator is on. During charging process, the Orange indicator is on. When the battery is fully charged, the Green indicator is on.

CAUTION: If unit is kept in storage for longer periods of time (6 months without it being used), the hot-swap battery might discharge to very low capacity, meaning its function no longer expected as normal.

Prior to hot-swap battery, please make sure tablet connected to AC adapter for one hour and charging full.

For Battery Pack ALG10XR-1004:
Highest specified charging temperature = 50 °C
Lowest specified charging temperature = -5 °C

For Battery Pack Tab-InnerB01:

REGULATORY INFORMATION

FCC Compliance Statement

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. This device must not cause harmful interference, and
  2. This device must be able to withstand any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

FCC Warning

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna.
Increasing the distance between the equipment and the receiver.

  • Connecting the equipment to a different outlet from that to which the receiver is connected

  • Consulting the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Caution:
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the grantee of this device could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment..

This device is slave equipment, the device is not radar detection and not ad- hoc operation in the DFS band.

RF Exposure Warning

This device meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio waves. This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. Government.

The exposure standard employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the EUT transmitting at the specified power level in different channels.

The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this device with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this device is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm after searching on FCC ID: YY3-RAZ12XR

ISED Warning

  1. This device may not cause interference.
  2. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the
    device.

WiFi 5GHz device
(i) the device for operation in the band 5150‐5250 MHz is only for indoor use to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co‐channel mobile satellite systems
(ii) the maximum antenna gain permitted for devices in the bands 5250‐5350 MHz and 5470‐5725 MHz shall comply with the e.i.r.p. limit; and
(iii) the maximum antenna gain permitted for devices in the band 5725‐5825 MHz shall comply with the e.i.r.p. limits specified for point‐to‐point and non point‐to‐point operation as appropriate. High‐power radars are allocated as primary users (i.e. priority users) of the bands 5250‐5350 MHz and 5650‐5850 MHz and that these radars could cause interference and/or damage to LE‐LAN devices.

Radio Frequency (RF) Exposure Information
The radiated output power of the Wireless Device is below the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) radio frequency exposure limits. The Wireless Device should be used in such a manner such that the potential for human contact during normal operation is minimized.
This device has been evaluated for and shown compliant with the ISED Specific Absorption Rate (“SAR”) limits when operated in portable exposure conditions. (Antennas are greater than 0mm from a person’s body).

CE Compliance

Hereby, Handheld Group AB declares that the radio equipment type ALGIZ 12XR is in compliance with Directive 2014/53/EU.

The limits are part of extensive recommendations for the protection of the general public. These recommendations have been developed and checked by independent scientific organizations through regular and thorough evaluations of scientific studies. The unit of measurement for the European Council’s recommended limit for mobile devices is the “Specific Absorption Rate” (SAR), and the SAR limit is 2.0 W/Kg averaged over 10 grams of body tissue. It meets the requirements of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).
For next-to-body operation, this device has been tested and meets the ICNRP exposure guidelines and the European Standard EN 50566 and EN 62209-2. SAR is measured with the device directly contacted to the body while transmitting at the highest certified output power level in all frequency bands of the mobile device.
