Safety

Intended use

The ProCharger Comfort Indicator enables you to check your battery’s state of charge at any time.

Three LEDs, green, yellow and red, provide the following information:

  • Green: (> 12,5 V) indicates a fully charged battery
  • Yellow: (12,35 V-12,5 V) means it is advisable to charge your battery
  • Red: (< 12,35 V): means your battery is virtually flat and must be charged

The Comfort Indicator is intended exclusively for private use, and not for vehicle workshop businesses. It is splash-proof, but should be installed in a position where it is protected from the rain. The Comfort Indicator is not a toy.

Only use the ProCharger Comfort Indicator as described in these instructions. Any other use is considered non-intended use and can lead to damage of the item. Neither the manufacturer nor the distributor accepts any liability for damage which occurs due to incorrect usage.

Safety instructions

Short-circuit and fire hazard!

Improper handling/use of the Comfort Indicator increases the risk of short- circuit and fire.

  • First disconnect the motorcycle earth connection from the battery.
  • The ring terminal cable has to be attached to the vehicle so that it cannot be trapped, does not rest directly on the hot engine and is kept away from all moving parts.

Danger for children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially disabled persons, elderly persons with reduced physical and mental abilities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).

  • Store the Comfort Indicator away from children.
  • The Comfort Indicator can be used by children over the age of ten and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the Comfort Indicator and if they understand the resulting hazards.
  • Cleaning and maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • Keep the Comfort Indicator and its accessories away from children under ten years old.
  • Keep the packaging film away from children, as there is danger of suffocation.

Installation

Unpacking and checking the Comfort Indicator

Remove the Comfort Indicator from the packaging. Check whether the delivery is complete ( see Section 1 ). Unwind the cable and check the Comfort Indicator and individual parts for damage. If you discover any damage, do not use the Comfort Indicator. Contact the manufacturer via the specified service address.

Connecting up

The ProCharger Comfort Indicator is intended to be permanently connected to the vehicle battery. In order to connect the Comfort Indicator correctly, follow the instructions below:

  1. First disconnect the motorcycle earth connection from the battery, then disconnect the positive terminal
  2. Screw the red ring terminal (positive) of the ring terminal cable to the battery’s positive terminal.
  3. Then, screw the black ring terminal (negative) of the ring terminal cable and the motorcycle’s earth connection to the battery’s negative terminal.

Carry out the above steps with care. It is imperative that you avoid short- circuits and make sure the contact is secure.

Using the Comfort Indicator

The ProCharger Comfort Indicator is simply connected permanently to the battery by means of the ring terminals. Whenever you want to check your battery’s charge level, you only need to briefly press the button on the ProCharger Comfort Indicator, and the charge level is displayed for 60 seconds via the three differently coloured LEDs.

  • Green: (> 12,5 V) indicates a fully charged battery
  • Yellow: (12,35 V-12,5 V) means it is advisable to charge your battery
  • Red: (< 12,35 V) means your battery is virtually flat and must be charged

The battery then does not self-discharge.

If the red or yellow LED indicates the need to charge your battery, simply connect your ProCharger to the Comfort Indicator and start charging. When charging the battery, please also follow the information provided in the instructions for use of the particular ProCharger and/or your battery.

Transportation and storage

When transporting the ProCharger Comfort Indicator, it is best to use the original packaging to provide optimal protection.
