Safety

• Wear protective gloves whenever handling the knives, cutting plates, or cutting assemblies.
• Before installing or uninstalling the unit, disconnect the electrical power supply. This will prevent any chance of accidental start-up.
• If a product becomes jammed in the hopper during operation, immediately turn the unit off and disconnect the electrical power supply cord. Make sure rotation has stopped. Unlatch the front cover, swing it open, and clear the obstruction.
• Never insert hands into the hopper. Never insert any utensil into the hopper.
• Never hose down the unit mounted to power source equipment. Hosing down the unit could cause electrical shock.

Installation

Unpacking

1. Remove all packing material. Keep the packaging for future storage.
2. Make sure that all components are included (Fig. 1). Keep the carton for any future machine removal.
3. Clean the attachment before first use, see Cleaning Section.

Assembly Grinder Attachment

1. Insert the auger into the chamber head (Fig. 2 & 3).
2. Insert the knife and grinder plate, in order, into the chamber head (Fig. 4 & 5).
3. Make sure that the auger, knife and grinder plate are all secure in the Chamber Head.
4. Lift the retainer ring and spin it onto the chamber head clockwise to tighten (Fig. 6 & 7).
5. Lift the food pan and insert it onto the chamber head’s top (Fig. 8).
6. The grinder attachment is now ready to be loaded into the power source equipment.

Loading Grinder Attachment onto Hub

1. Before mounting the unit, make sure that the power source equipment is turned off.
2. Carefully lift the assembled unit and insert the square milled shaft end into the hub while turning the unit to engage the square end on the shaft with the square hole in the adapter (Fig. 9).
3. Slide the unit forward and push the unit fully forward onto the hub. Tighten the thumbscrew to secure the unit to the hub (Fig. 10).
4. The grinder attachment is now ready to process the product (Fig. 11).

Operation

1. Connect the electrical supply to the power source equipment, turn the power source equipment on.
2. Lift the stomper and drop the meat into the feed hopper in food pan.
3. Keep hands and fingers out of the hopper.
4. With the feed plate, gently use the stomper to push the product into the rotating plate unit.

Dismounting and Disassembly for Cleaning/Maintenance

Dismounting

1. Make sure that the power source equipment is turned off and its electrical supply is disconnected.
2. Loosen the thumbscrew and slide the unit from the hub.
3. Set the unit on a stable working surface.

Disassembly

1. Remove the food pan from the top.
2. Spin the retainer ring counterclockwise to disassemble from the chamber head.
3. Remove the plate, knife, and auger from the chamber head.

Cleaning & Maintenance

1. Make sure to wear hand protection
2. Wash all components by hand with a mild soap and water solution.
3. Use a long-handled scrub brush on all plate units to avoid cutting fingers.
4. Do not rest knives, plates, auger,s or retaining rings on any uneven surface.
5. Dry component parts with a soft cloth.
6. For the best and most sanitary product, clean the unit immediately after use or before switching food products.

Troubleshooting

CAUTION: Review all safety notes and disconnect the electrical power supply to the equipment before attempting corrective measures.

TROUBLE                                     POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION

Attachment cannot be installed into mixer hub.| Hub’s shaft is in the let-in position.| Rotate the mixer’s shaft slowly until the insert could be done.
The mounted unit rattles when under power.| Thumbscrew or securing mechanism missing or loose.| Tighten or replace the thumbscrew.
Auger scrapes inside the chamber head.| Auger is not positioned well.| Adjust position and add the oil onto the auger surface.
