NIXON NIX08 Smart Watch

WELCOME
You just bought a NIXON watch. How about that. Welcome to the NIXON side, a side that’s about custom built product, quality, and durability. We’re stoked you selected one of our watches. The fact that you bought a NIXON means you can probably tell time, but you may not be familiar with all the doo-dads and features of our watches. So if you’re stuck, read through these instructions. Or get your friends to read them and then they can tell you what’s up.

KEY

  • L LIGHT
  • S/S SET / SELECT
  • M MODE
  • P/S PLAY / STOP
  • R RECORD / STOP RECORD

MODES

  • TIME Displays the current time and select hourly chime (2A)
  • DATE Displays the current Month and Day (2B)
  • RECORD Where you record your messages (2C)
  • ALARM Set the alarm time and choose an alarm message (2D)
  • To Scroll through Modes, PRESS MODE Button.

SETTING THE TIME AND DATE

While in Time mode:

  • PRESS and HOLD the SS button until Minutes start blinking (3A). The setting sequence will be: Minute Hou
  • PRESS PLAY and REC buttons to increase or decrease minutes (3B).

When the minutes are correct

  • PRESS the MODE button to make the hours blink (3C).
  • PRESS PLAY and REC buttons to increase or decrease hours.

When the hours are correct

  • PRESS  SS to confirm and exit setting (3D) Go to Date Mode
  • PRESS and HOLD the SS button until Year starts blinking. The setting sequence will be: Year-Month-Day
  • PRESS PLAY and REC buttons to increase or decrease year.
  • PRESS the MODE button to advance to the Month setting. Repeat this for Month and Date.

When the date is correct

  • PRESS SS to confirm and exit setting.

TIME AND DATE MODES

TIME MODE

  • Displays Current Time

LIGHT

  • PRESS the LIGHT button, duh! (4A)

TO SELECT A RECORDING FOR PLAYBACK

  • PRESS the SS button to select Recording Number
  • (4B) (Displayed in upper right corner).
  • PRESS the PLAY button to playback the selected recording number.
  • PRESS and HOLD the PLAY button to Activate/ Deactivate the hourly chime function (4C).The current selected message will be your activated hourly chime.

TO RECORD YOUR MESSAGES

The Dictator has 8 available slots for your message. You have an available total record time of 3 minutes and 20 seconds. So Sick!
PRESS the MODE button to take you to the Record Mode. The remaining available recording time will be displayed for 3 seconds. The letter “A” in the top right corner denotes that there is Available Time for new recordings (5A).The letter “F” in the top right corner denotes that the message bank and/or time allocation is Full.

TO RECORD A MESSAGE

  • PRESS the REC button to start your recording. You will see the Recording Icon moving (5B).
  • PRESS the REC button again to stop recording.

TO PLAY YOUR RECORDINGS

  • PRESS the SS button to select the Message number (5C).
TO RECORD YOUR MESSAGES CONT.
  • PRESS the PLAY button and Listen!
  • If you don’t like your recording,
  • PRESS and HOLD SS button for 2 seconds. The
  • ERASE icon will appear in the top left corner of the display (5D).
  • RELEASE the SS button and
  • PRESS SS again to confirm erasing this recorded message. If you do not press SS again within 3 seconds, the ERASE icon will disappear.

When a recording is erased, the following recorded messages are moved ahead into the next available emptied time slot.

  • PRESS and HOLD the SS button for 4 seconds, the
  • ERASEALL icon will appear (5E).

TO ERASE ALL MESSAGES

  • RELEASE the SS button and
  • PRESS SS again to confirm and erase all messages.
  • If you do not press SS again within 3 seconds, the ERASEALL icon will disappear.

NOTE: Recording cannot be made when any of the following conditions are met:

  • Message bank allocation is full. (8 messages)
  • Recording time allocation is used up.
  • Low battery indicator is ON.

TO SET THE ALARM

When in ALARM mode,

  • PRESS and HOLD SS button until Minutes start blinking (6A).
  • PRESS PLAY button to increase minutes.
  • PRESS REC button to decrease minutes (6B).

When the minutes are correct,

  • PRESS the MODE button to make the hours blink.
  • PRESS PLAY button to increase hours.
  • PRESS REC button to decrease hours.

Once the hours are correct,

  • PRESS the MODE button again to make the Alarm # blink (6C).
  • PRESS PLAY button to increase Recording Number.
  • PRESS REC button to decrease Recording Number (6D).
    When you have selected the recording you want for your alarm,
TO SET THE ALARM CONT.
  • PRESS MODE one last time to exit Alarm Setting.

TURNING THE ALARM ON AND OFF WHILE IN ALARM MODE,

  • PRESS the SS button to toggle alarm Enable/Disable (6E). (denotes alarm is ON)
  • PRESS the PLAY button to playback the current selected alarm recording (6F).
    Now try to go to bed and wait in anticipation for your alarm to get you outtabed !

LOW BATTERY INDICATOR

The Low Battery Indicator (7A), shown, will appear when the battery charge is getting low. When this icon appears, the time and date function will
still work for 6 months but the Record and Playback functions will be disabled. The hourly chime and alarm, if activated, will revert back to the conventional “beep” sound.

RECORDING TIPS

For optimal voice recordings, HOLD the Dictator about 6″ (15cm) from your mouth and speak at a regular volume (8A). If your recording isn’t loud enough, then SPEAK UP a bit! Wireless downloads you say? Of course, hold it up to your computer speakers, stereo speaker or headphones and “wirelessly” record your favoring song or movie quote as your alarm or hourly chime onto your Dictator (8B).

WARRANTY INFO

Nixon offers a limited warranty on defects in materials and workmanship. when purchased from an authorized Nixon dealer and with proof of purchase (receipt). This means that if the materials in your watch aren’t right or if the watch isn’t put together correctly, we’ll repair or replace it, at our option. But, this doesn’t mean you can abuse your watch and expect us to fix it for free. We don’t cover normal wear and tear or batteries, crystal, watch case, strap, bracelet, loss or theft. You will void your warranty if you open your case back, push the buttons underwater, or forget to screw down or push in the crown and expose your watch to moisture.
