The Blaster, although rugged, is not bulletproof, waterproof or indestructible.
Failure to use common sense while enjoying The Blaster may cause permanent damage to the speaker, yourself and/or others.

POWER IT UP

Press and hold the Power Button for 2 seconds then release to power ON The Blaster.
The Power LED will illuminate solid red.

Press the Power Button again for 2 second then release to power OFF.

TIP: The Blaster will Power OFF automatically after 10 minutes of no music playback to save the remaining battery.

SYNCITUP

Press and hold the Multi Button for 2 seconds then release to enter Bluetooth Pairing Mode, indicated by flashing blue LED.

TIP : When powered ON, the Blaster will reconnect automatically to the nearest known music device. Alternately, it will enter Bluetooth Pairing Mode if no known music device is found.

Locate the Bluetooth settings on your music device, enable Bluetooth, and select “NIXON BLASTER” from the list of local Bluetooth devices.

When Bluetooth® pairing is successful, the blue LED will illuminate solid.

TIP : Avoid sound dropouts by keeping the battery charged and staying within a reasonable wireless range (10 meters or less).
AUX

If your music device does not support Bluetooth connections, use the included audio cable to play music directly to The Blaster.

TIP : The remote control buttons and internal microphone will not function when using the AUX input.

CRANK IT UP

Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to set the playback level of The Blaster.

TIP : Because the volume control buttons of The Blaster do not control the volume output of your music device, you must properly adjust the volume settings of each device independently.

If the sound is distorted, decrease the volume setting on your music device first, then set the volume level of The Blaster. A low battery can also cause the sound to become distorted, so it is important to keep a healthy charge.

TIP : Listening at lower volumes can significantly extend battery life.

To disable the various sound effects prompts, hold the Volume Down button with the Power Button when you power ON on the Blaster. To enable the sounds again, hold the Volume Up button with the Power Button next time you power ON.

You can control many functions of your music device directly from The Blaster when connected via Bluetooth.

TIP : When you first power ON The Blaster and reconnect to your music device, simply pressing the Multi Button will begin music playback from where you last stopped.

TALKITUP

You can also use The Blaster as a “speakerphone” when connected via Bluetooth. Incoming and outgoing calls will automatically pause music playback, then resume when the call is ended.

Press both volume buttons at the same time to MUTE the microphone during a call. The two LEDs will alternate flashing to let you know MUTE is enabled. Press both buttons again to UNMUTE the microphone playback, then resume when the call is ended.

TIP: The internal microphone is designed to pick up your voice from a reasonably short distance (1m). It is not necessary hold The Blaster close to your mouth.

Connect the USB Charging Cable between The Blaster and a USB port on a notebook or desktop computer, or use the included USB to AC adapter. While charging, the Power LED will flash in a repeating pattern to indicate the current battery status as shown on the next page.

When charging is complete, the Power LED will stop flashing and illuminate solid if The Blaster is already powered ON, or turn off completely if The Blaster is powered OFF.

TIP : A full charge will take about 6 hours when connected the USB port of a computer. However you may use a 3rd-party USB-to-AC adapter (commonly included with smartphones to reduce the charge time to only 3 hours. Check that your adapter has an output rating of 5V at 1000mA (1A).

Press the Power Button once then release. The Power LED will turn off briefly, and then flash in a repeating pattern to indicate the battery status. In addition to the flashing lights, a voice prompt will tell you your battery power level.

TIP: Because the volume control buttons of The Blaster do not control the volume output of your music device, you must properly adjust the volume settings of each device independently.

TIP : You can also see the battery in the Status Bar of Apple iOS devices when connected via Bluetooth.

When the battery is LOW, the Power LED will change from RED to YELLOW while powered ON.

TIP : The Battery Check function is most accurate when music playback is stopped.

POWER RESET

In the rare case that your speaker becomes unresponsive, press the small Reset Button using a pen to perform a hard power reset. It is located directly above the micro-USB port.

TIP: Such unresponsiveness is typically caused by compatibility issues with specific versions of mobile device operating systems. To avoid, make sure your device is always using the latest software version.

RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS

To clear the internal memory of all known paired devices and reset the software to factory default, press and hold the four top control buttons simultaneously until you hear a tone. Then to complete the process, Power OFF and then Power ON the unit.

WARRANTY

Nixon offers a limited warranty on defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year after original purchase from an authorized Nixon dealer. This means that if the materials in your speaker aren’t right or if it isn’t put together correctly, we’ll repair or replace it, at our option. But, this doesn’t mean you can abuse your speaker and expect us to fix it for free. We don’t cover normal wear and tear or blown speakers, cut cords, scratches and gouges, loss or theft. You will void your warranty if you disassemble your speaker or if you submerge it into liquids. This includes lava, the ocean, beer or other wet substances.

Problems? You can return the product to the store of purchase and they will initiate the warranty claim and return the product to Nixon for you. Alternatively, if you would like to return the product directly to us, please contact your closest Nixon Service Center and we’ll get you a Return Authorization number and provide you with instructions on how to initiate service. Headphones sent back to us without a Return Authorization number will not receive service. Any claim made under this warranty directly with Nixon will involve you returning the defective goods to us, at your expense.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded from the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality or the failure does not amount to a major failure.
