Important safety instructions
- These devices can be used by children older than eight years old as well as by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabili-ties, persons lacking experience and/or lacking knowledge if they are supervised or have received instructions regarding how the device is to be used safely and have understood the resulting risks.
- Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children, unless they are older than 8 years old and supervised.
- Keep the device and its cord out of the reach of children under 8 years old.
- Only operate the electric kettle with the appropriate base.
- Boiling water may splash out if the device is overfilled or operated when the lid is not closed.
- Do not immerse the pot and base in water.
- If the appliance’s supply cord is damaged then it must be replaced by the manufacturer’s central customer service department or by a similarly qualified person. Improper repairs may constitute a serious threat for users.
- Take care not to spill water on the base.
- Caution! Risk of burns! The temperature of accessible surfaces can become very hot. They also remain hot for some time after the appliance has been switched off.
- After using the appliance and accessories, clean all surfaces/parts that have come into contact with food. Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and care” section.
- Always use the appliance in accordance with these instructions. Improper use can result in electric shocks and other hazards.
- This device is intended to be used in household and similar applica-tions, such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environ-ments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environ-ments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
The device is not intended for purely commercial use.
Prior to use
Read the operating manual carefully. It contains important information about
the use, safety and maintenance of the appliance.
It should be kept in a safe place and passed on to further users if
appropriate.
The device may only be used for the intended purpose according to these
operating instructions. Observe the safety instructions during use.

Safety instructions

Only connect the device to properly installed earthed sockets. The wire and plug must be dry.

Do not pull the connecting cable over sharp edges or clamp it. Do not let it hang down and protect it from heat and oil.

Never disconnect the mains plug from the socket by the cord or with wet hands.
-
Stop using the appliance and/or disconnect it from the mains plug immediately if:
-
The appliance or mains cable is damaged;
-
the device is not leak-proof;
-
there is any suspicion of a fault after dropping the appliance or similar.
In such cases, send the appliance to be repaired. -
Do not place the kettle on hot surfaces, such as hot plates or similar, or near open flames. It could melt.

Do not place the device on water-sensitive surfaces. Water spray may damage them.
-
Do not operate the device under delicate furniture. Escaping steam from boiling could damage the furniture.

Never operate the kettle unattended.
-
Do not switch on the device without water.
-
Take the pot for filling from the base.
-
Only fill with clean water, not milk, coffee, etc.
-
Do not move the device during operation and do not pull on the mains cable.
-
Never operate the appliance with the lid open.
-
WARNING: Danger of scalding due to hot casing and water vapour escaping. Only hold the kettle by the handle when in operation, and do not open the lid when pouring out.

Always completely empty the pot. Do not let any residual water remain in the device for a long period of time.

The mains plug is to be pulled:
-
if malfunctions occur during use,
-
before cleaning and care,
-
after use.

No liability is accepted for any damages resulting from misuse, incorrect operation or improper repairs.
Claims under warranty are likewise excluded in such cases. -
Packaging material, such as plastic film bags, do not belong in the hands of children.
LED lighting
NOTE: This product contains a light source with energy efficiency class
C. Please note that the light element in the product is not intended for
lighting purposes. The light element may be replaced by authorized service
personnel.
The LED lighting on the appliance base is used to indicate that the appliance
is in operation and to select the temperature.
Initial operation
Thoroughly clean the inside of the kettle before using it for the first time.
(see the chapter entitled “Cleaning and care”).
A strainer insert in the pour spout ensures that larger limescale particles
are kept back when pouring.
Any surplus length of the connecting cable can be wound at the bottom of the
base part.
Connect the mains plug to an earthed socket.
Add the desired amount of water (min. 500 ml, max. 1,600 ml).
Warning: If the kettle is not filled with enough water, the overheating
protection automatically deactivates the heating elements. In this case, allow
the appliance to cool down before using it again.
Too much water may cause hot water to boil over, which can cause serious
injuries or burns. Place the kettle on the base in any position.
Press the Start/Stop button repeatedly until the LED next to the desired
temperature lights up. After three seconds, the indicator light on the
Start/Stop button lights up and the boiling process begins automatically.
After the temperature has been reached, the appliance switches off
automatically and the indicator light turns off.
Note: Do not use the water from the first boiling process for food
preparation.
Temperatures for different types of tea
The kettle gives you the option to heat water to a desired temperature, e.g. one that matches your favourite type of tea:

Safety system
A thermostat protects the kettle from overheating due to accidental operation
without water by switching off the device.
It is essential to allow the pot to cool down before filling with water.
Should the first thermostat malfunction due to improper use, an additional
temperature limiter ensures reliable protection.
Cleaning and maintenance
Remove the mains plug and allow the device to cool down. Do not immerse the
device in water, but rather clean them with a damp cloth with a little
washing-up fluid and then dry off.
Do not use any sharp and abrasive cleaning agents.
The pot is made of stainless steel. Should rust spots nevertheless appear,
they are only deposits adhered to the surface. They should be removed
immediately with a stainless steel cleanser.
The strainer insert in the pour spout can be removed for cleaning when the lid
is open. To do so, press its upper clip upward. When inserting, place the
strainer in the middle of the base and then snap it forward into place.
Descaling
Please descale your appliance regularly using a high-quality commercial
descaling agent. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, particularly with
regard to the subsequent cleaning with clear water, which is essential!
Suitable descaling agents contain inhibitors that protect appliances against
damage to seals and surfaces, do not cause additional deposits and have no
taste. Do not use descaling agents that are unsuitable for your appliance
(such as substances based purely on vinegar or citric acid). Our warranty does
not cover damage caused by using unsuitable descaling agents or failure to
follow the descaling instructions. Please keep descaling agents out of reach
of children and make sure you do not inhale any of the steam given off during
descaling.
Causes for malfunctions

If the pouring behaviour worsens/diminishes: check the strainer and descale/clean the strainer if necessary

Device switches off before boiling:
Bottom of the pot is too strongly calcified, it is not filled with enough water -

Device will not switch on:
The device has not sufficiently cooled down following operation with no or too little water.
If it is not possible to fix this problem, submit the device for repair.

This product is supplied with a 13 A plug conforming to BS 1363 fitted to the mains lead. If the plug is unsuitable for your socket outlets or needs to be replaced, please note the following. If the plug is a non-rewireable one, cut it from the mains lead and immediately dispose of it. Never insert it into a socket outlet as there is a very great risk of an electric shock.

The replacement of the plug at the mains lead has to be done according to the following instructions:
Important: The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: -
the wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black,
-
the wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
Do not connect any wire to the terminal which is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol , or coloured green or green and yellow. -
If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used it must be fitted with a 13 A fuse conforming to BS 1362 and be
ASTA approved. If any other type of plug is used, the appliance must be protected by a 10 A fuse either in the plug or adapter or at the distribution board.
If in doubt – consult a qualified electrician. -
Never use the plug without closing the fuse cover.
The appliance complies with European directives 2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU and
2009/125/EU.
At the end of its life, this product may not be disposed of in normal
household waste, but must instead be taken to a collection point for recycling
electrical and electronic appliances.
The materials are recyclable in accordance with their labelling. Reuse,
recycling and other ways of reutilising old appliances make an important
contribution to protecting our environment.
Please ask your local authorities for information about the appropriate
disposal point.
End users are personally responsible for deleting any personal data that may
