UNPACKING YOUR BIKE
Please Ensure Packaging should be removed carefully without damaging to paint surface of the bike parts.
CHECKING THE BRAKES
Gently roll the bicycle backward and forward and test that each brake works
individually. If required, the position of brake pads can be adjusted as
shown.
Do not ride the bike if you have not been able to assemble brakes so that they
are fully functional after assembly
ATTACHING THE PEDAL
FITTING THE PEDALS REQUIRES CARE AND ATTENTION.
They are labelled “R (right) and “t° (left). R represents the Right pedal as
you sit on the bike – on the chain side.
L represents the Left pedal as you sit on the bike – on the opposite side to
the chain.
Attaching The Front Wheel
- Turn the cycle upside down so it is resting on its saddle and handlebars.
- Remove the plastic spacer fork protector from the fork ends.
- Remove the axle nuts and wheel retention washers from the front wheel axle.
- Lower the wheel into the fork ends.
- Ensuring safety washers are located correctly, retighten axle nuts.
- Once the front wheel has been inserted, check the brakes work correctly.
- The brake pads may need to be adjusted accordingly.
ATTACHING THE HANDLEBARS
There are two types of handlebar attachment in general use, the quill stem
type (single bolt) and the threadless or A-Head type (two bolts). In addition,
some BMX bikes have a different
arrangement.
STEM TYPE (SINGLE BOLT)
- Ensure the brake cables are not tangled or twisted and the front forks are facing forward.
- Ensure the handlebar stem is inserted into the frame Head tube beyond the minimum insertion mark.
- Ensure enough tightening of the Handle bar bolt by using the Allen key. Once the handle is fitted, the Brake lever and reflector position can be adjusted by rotating the handle bar upwards and tightening to stem bolt as shown.
THREADLESS TYPE (3 BOLTS)
- Using an allen key, loosen the 2 Side boits (A) and turn the handlebar through 90 degrees.
- Adjust the tension of the headset by turning bolt B if necessary but first release the side bolts, adjust then re-tighten.
ATTACHING THE SADDLE
Ensure the Seat post is inserted into frame tube beyond the minimum insertion
mark. Tighten the Seat clamp bolt with the provided Tools.
The pedals need to be threaded into the cranks
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE cORRECT PEDAL IS SCREWED INTO THE CORRECT CRANK
TO AVOID DAMAGING THE THREADS.
- The right pedal tightens in a CLOCKWISE direction.
- The left pedal tightens in an ANTI CLOCKWISE direction.
- We recommend finger pressure to initially thread pedals. Once correct thread confirmed, attach securely using the multi spanner provided.
ATTACHING THE FENDERS MUDGUARD
Assemble the fenders using the brackets & bolts as shown in the picture. Tighten the bolts & set the mudguard position as shown in the pic.
