SAFETY HINTS

  • Only charge batteries of the type (replacement-) Sony NP-F550/750/970.
  • Never leave the battery charger unattended while charging the batteries. After charging disconnect the charger from the power supply.
  • Only operate the charger with the supplied power cable. Do not use an extension cord.
  • Protect the charger from rain, moisture, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not operate or touch the charger with wet hands.
  • Protect the charger against impacts. Do not use the charger if it has been dropped. In this case, a qualified electrician should inspect the device before you use it again.
  • Do not attempt to repair the charger by yourself. Risk of electric shock! When service or repair is required, contact qualified service personnel.
  • People with physical or cognitive disabilities should use the charger with supervision.
  • People with cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, or any other electrical implants should maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm, as the charger generates magnetic fields.
  • Do not use the charger nearby mobile phones and devices that generate strong electromagnetic fields.
  • This charger is not a toy. To prevent accidents and suffocation keep the device, the accessories, and the packing materials away from children and pets.
  • Protect the charger against dirt. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or benzine to clean the device. We recommend a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth to clean the outer parts of the device. Before cleaning take off the charger from the power supply!
  • Store the device in a dust-free, dry, and cool place.
  • If the device is defective or without any further use, dispose of the device according to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive WEEE. For further information, please contact your local authorities.

SAFETY HINTS FOR RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

When inserting the batteries please respect the correct polarity (+/-). Please remove batteries when the device is not in use for a long period of time. Do not throw the batteries into fire, do not short-circuit, and do not disassemble them. Never charge non-rechargeable batteries – the risk of explosion! Remove leaking batteries from the device immediately. Risk of battery acid burn! Clean the contacts before inserting fresh batteries. In case of contact with battery acid, rinse the affected area immediately with water and contact a doctor. Batteries can be dangerous to life if swallowed. Keep batteries away from small children and pets. Do not dispose of batteries in household waste (see also chapter “Disposal of Batteries/ Accumulators“).

CHARGING THE BATTERIES

CAUTION
Only charge rechargeable Li-Ion batteries of the type (Replace-) SONY NP-F550; NP-F750, NPF970 with the supplied battery charger! The charger is not suited to charge other battery types!
Insert the power cable (6) to the cable socket of the battery charger (5) and connect to an electrical outlet. The LED charging indicator (2) lights up green. Place the Li-Ion battery (7) over the center of the charging slot (4) and pay attention to the correct polarity (markings +/- on the battery and in the charging slot). Slide the battery fully forward until it touches the battery contact pins (3). If the battery is inserted properly and the charging process has started, the LED charging indicator (2) lights up red. When the battery is fully charged, the LED charging indicator (2) turns green. Slide the Li-Ion battery backward and remove it from the charging slot. Disconnect the battery charger from the electrical outlet.
CAUTION
Never leave the battery charger unattended while charging the battery.
After charging, disconnect the charger from the power supply.

NOTE
To avoid deep discharge of the Li-Ion batteries when they are not in use for a longer period, please charge the Li-Ion batteries approx. every 3 months.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Never use aggressive cleaning agents or benzine to clean the device. We recommend a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth to clean the outer parts of the device. Make sure to take off the device from power before cleaning! Store the device in a dust-free, dry, and cool place. This device is not a toy -keep it out of reach of children. Keep away from pets.

08.1 DISPOSAL OF BATTERIES/ACCUMULATORS
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out bin. This symbol indicates that empty batteries or accumulators which can no longer be charged should not be disposed of with household waste. Waste batteries may contain harmful substances that can cause damage to health and to the environment. Please use the return and collection systems available in your country for the disposal of waste batteries.
08.2 WEEE INFORMATION
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) is the European Community directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment, which became European law in February 2003. The main purpose of this directive is to prevent electronic waste. Recycling and other forms of waste recovery should be encouraged to reduce waste.
