Important safety information

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children may not play with the appliance.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • The device must not be operated via an external timer or remote control.
  • Clean all parts immediately after use and remove any food residue straight away. Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and Care” section.
  • The appliance is designed for indoor household use only.
  • This device is intended to be used in households and similar applications, such as: ⋅ staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; ⋅ farm houses; ⋅ by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments; ⋅ bed and breakfast type environments. The device is not intended for purely commercial use.

Before use

Read the instruction manual carefully. It contains important information about the use, safety and care of the appliance. It should be kept in a safe place and passed on to subsequent users if necessary. The appliance may only be used for the intended purpose according to these operating instructions. Observe the safety information when using the appliance.

Additional safety information

  • Only connect the appliance to earthed wall sockets that have been installed pursuant to regulations. The supply cable and plug must be dry.

  • Place the appliance on a level and firm surface and ensure there is sufficient space all the way around the appliance.

  • Run the cable in a way that nobody can stumble over it or pull on it. Take care that the cable never comes into contact with sharp edges and hot objects.

  • Ensure that the cord does not touch hot parts of the appliance like the housing.

  • The appliance gets very hot during operation. Never touch the hot cooking plate or pot or other hot parts of the appliance! Use pot holder to avoid burning.

  • Caution! Burn hazard! Do not move the appliance when the heating base is hot and/or the fondue pot contains hot content. Always let it cool down enough before cleaning and storing.

  • Boiling water may splash out if the pot is overfilled or operated when the lid is not on.

  • During operation using water, when high amounts of steam is observed, reduce the temperature of the appliance before using the forks for cooking.

  • Always switch off and unplug the appliance after each use, before changing accessories and before cleaning.

  • If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.

  • Keep the appliance and all parts clean as they are in contact with food.

  • Caution! Fire danger! Keep special care when using oil and fat. Hot oil and fat can burn easily!
    Particularly if it is used repeatedly and/or is contaminated. Never add water to hot or burning oil.
    Close the lid to stop flames. Unplug immediately – do not use the appliance anymore in such case.

  • We accept no liability for any damages caused as a result of misuse, incorrect operation or improper repairs. Claims under warranty are likewise excluded in such cases.

  • Caution: risk of injury! The fondue forks supplied are very sharp.

Setting up and connecting

  • Remove all packaging from the appliance.
  • Clean the appliance (see chapter “Cleaning and care”).
  • Set up the appliance on a stable and level surface near to a plug socket.

Starting up the appliance

  • Fill the pot with the desired amount of oil or stock (bouillon). Do not overfill the fondue pot, the content should be between the MIN 0,8l and MAX 1,2l.

  • Place the heating base on a level, heat-insulted and grease-resistant surface.

  • Place the pot on the heating base, put the splash guard ring with fork holders on the pot and plug in the appliance. The LED ring at the control knob will light up in the colour white.

  • Turn the temperature control knob to the highest level. During heating up the LED ring illuminates in the colour red.
    Notice: For a quick heating up you can also place the fondue pot on a ceramic or induction hob.
    Please note: The pot is not intended for regular cooking on a ceramic or induction hob.

  • Preheat the oil or stock for about 20 minutes before you put in the ingredients like meat, fish or vegetables.

  • The ingredients for the fondue should be cut into bite-size pieces or slices before.

  • As soon as the temperature reaches the set temperature, the LED ring is lit white.

  • You can now load the food that you want to cook onto the forks and hang them over the pot. Use a „parking station“ / holder in the lid for each fork. First insert the fork with the lower thinner part of the stick into the holder. Now let the fork slide down until it stops.

  • Allow the food to cook in the pot according to the desired cooking time.
    Note: Brews and oils must not start to bubble or must only simmer gently. Turn down the temperature slightly if necessary.

  • After using the appliance always turn the thermostat counterclockwise back until it stops disconnecting the appliance from the mains.

  • Let the appliance cool down completely and clean as described in the chapter „Cleaning and maintenance“.

Important instructions when using fondue with oil:

  • Only ever use fresh oil.
  • Do not mix different oils together.
  • Never add water to the oil or to any kind of fat.
  • Do not add mixed herbs or spices to the oil.
  • We recommend using sunflower oil, groundnut oil or vegetable-based fat.
  • Do not use flavoured oils with additives (for example: grape seeds or mixed herbs).

If the fondue pot has been washed, it must be rinsed and dried well before it is used again.
Keeping meals warm
Basically, any kind of pan or heat-resisting bowl can be placed on the heating base in order to keep meals and sauces warm. Please adjust the temperature to a lower level.

Cleaning and care

Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning. For reasons of electrical safety, the hotplate and power cord should not be treated with liquids and should never be immersed. Do not pour used fat or oil in a sink. The cold fat may be discarded with the domestic refuse. The stainless steel pot can be cleaned in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher. Clean the lid and the forks in warm soapy water. Dry all accessories thoroughly afterward.

For UK use only

  • This product is supplied with a 13 A plug conforming to BS 1363 fitted to the mains lead. If the plug is unsuitable for your socket outlets or needs to be replaced, please note the following. If the plug is a non-rewireable one, cut it from the mains lead and immediately dispose of it. Never insert it into a socket outlet as there is a very great risk of an electric shock.
  • The replacement of the plug at the mains lead has to be done according to the following instructions:

As the colors of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colored markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

  • the wire which is colored green and yellow must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter or by the earth symbol or colored green or green and yellow,

  • the wire which is colored blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked the letter N or colored black,

  • the wire which is colored brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or colored red.

  • If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used it must be fitted with a 13 A fuse conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA-approved. If any other type of plug is used, the appliance must be protected by a 10 A fuse either in the plug or adapter or at the distribution board.
    If in doubt – consult a qualified electrician.

  • Never use the plug without closing the fuse cover.

The appliance complies with European directives 2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU and 2009/125/EU.
At the end of its life, this product may not be disposed of in normal household waste, but must instead be taken to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic appliances.
The materials are recyclable in accordance with their labeling. Reuse, recycling and other ways of reutilizing old appliances make an important contribution to protecting our environment.
Please ask your local authorities for information about the appropriate disposal point.
