Before the First Use

Before using the device for the first time, read the operating instructions and the safety instructions carefully.
Keep the operating instructions together with the device for later use. If other people use this device, please make these instructions available to them. If you pass the device on to third parties, these instructions belong to the device and must be supplied with it.

Intended Use

This device is designed for photo and video lighting only. It may not be used for other purposes, and especially not for domestic room lighting.

Explanation of Symbols

The following symbols are used in this manual, on the LED light, the power supply unit or on the packaging.
Products marked with this symbol comply with all relevant community regulations of the European Economic Area.
Products marked with this symbol are operated with direct current.
Products marked with this symbol are operated with alternating current.
Products with this symbol have additional or reinforced insulation and comply with protection class II.
**** For indoor use only. Devices with this symbol may only be operated indoors (dry environment).

Power supply

Use with power supply unit: Please plug the supplied power supply unit into the main socket and close the screw cap. Slide the power switch to the “ ” symbol to turn on the LED light.
Use with rechargeable batteries: Please insert the (optionally available, not included) rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment and slide the power switch to the “ ” symbol to turn on the LED light.
Note: Rechargeable batteries and chargers are optionally available from Rollei. For operation 2 lithium-ion batteries of the type NP-F750/F970 are needed.

Brightness and color temperature

Adjust the brightness:

After turning on the power, briefly press the knob, so that the „BRT“ menu item is highlighted in the display, and turn it clockwise to increase the brightness and counterclockwise to decrease the brightness.
The brightness can be adjusted between 0% and 100% in 1% increments.
Adjust the color temperature:
Briefly press the rotary knob so that the „CCT“ menu item is highlighted in the display and turn the dial clockwise to increase the color temperature (white light) and counterclockwise to decrease the color temperature (warm white).
The color temperature can be set between 3,200 K and 5,500 K in steps of 100 K. The symbol to the right of the color temperature describes the light which the color temperature resembles (from incandescent and fluorescent lamps to morning/evening light and daylight).

Gradients and effects
(operation via app only)
You can choose between various effects with the Lumen Pro Bi-Color.
To do this, connect the LED continuous light to the Rollei Lumen App (see a download link on the right) and select the ”Styles“ section at the bottom right of the app. Please note that the bi-color continuous light does not offer all effects listed in the Lumen App but only the bi-color gradients with the headings ”Transition“, ”Strobe“ and ”Pulsing“.
The speed of the gradients can also be adjusted via the app.

Download the ”Rollei Lumen“ app directly from the App Store or the Google Play Store.
Connection with the smartphone

Activate Bluetooth® * on your smartphone
Switch on the Rollei Lumen Panel
Open the ”Rollei Lumen“ app, and the connection to your phone will be established automatically.

Note:
• The connection is established using ”Bluetooth Low Energy“ (BLE). For this, a location release of the app is required. The connection to the LED light is established directly in the app.

Barndoors

The barn doors allow the light to be focused and directed more strongly. For transport, fold in the doors, first the upper and lower ones, then the side ones.

Diffusers

To use the enclosed diffusers, please first remove the protective foils. Now you can carefully place the diffuser with the side of the screw head on the four magnetic holders. The magnets hold the diffusor in place.
The transparent diffuser generates a softer light without changing the color temperature, the CTO filter generates an even warmer light and reduces the color temperature at 3,200 K by about 700 K at maximum power. It also reduces the illuminance by more than a third.

Safety Instructions

Electric current hazard!
Faulty electrical installations or excessive line voltage can cause electric shock.

Only connect the product if the mains voltage of the socket corresponds to the information on the type plate.
Connect the product to an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly disconnect it from the mains in the event of problems.
Only use the power cord supplied.
Do not use the product if it is visibly damaged or if the cable is defective.
If the product or the accessories are damaged, they must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
The housing may not be opened and repairs may only be carried out by a specialist. To do this, contact a specialist workshop. In the event of repairs by the user, improper connection or incorrect operation, any liability and warranty claims are excluded.
Do not use the product with an external timer.
If you are not going to use the device for a long period of time, always disconnect it from the power source.
Protect the product from moisture. Do not touch it with wet /damp hands and do not immerse it in water.
This product is not waterproof! Do not use this product in the rain or in wet areas. Never touch the product during a thunderstorm.
Before disconnecting the power or battery connection, switch off the device at the main switch.
Provide adequate ventilation during operation. Never cover the device.
Only use the device with suitable, high-quality Li-Ion batteries of the type NP-F750/970.
Do not use or store the device at high temperatures or in closed rooms with direct sunlight. The product should no longer be used at ambient temperatures of more than 40° C.
Immediately remove the battery and, if necessary, the charging cable from the housing if there are unusual noises, smells, or smoke.

Danger!

Never use the power cord as a handle.
Keep product and accessories away from open flames, hot surfaces, and easily inflammable materials.
Lay the power cord so that it does not pose a tripping hazard.
Do not kink the power cord or lay it over sharp edges.

The danger for children and people with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially handicapped people, older people with limited physical and mental abilities) or lack of experience and know-how (e.g. older children).

– This product can be used by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and know-how, provided that they are supervised or have received instructions for the safe use of the product and understand the possible dangers arising from its use. Children are not allowed to play with the product. The product must not be cleaned or maintained by children. Keep children under the age of eight away from the product and its accessories.
– Do not insert any objects into the product.
– Do not leave the product unattended during operation and charging.
– The device is not a toy. Keep the device, accessories, and packaging materials away from children and animals to prevent accidents and suffocation.
– Do not film drivers of cars, buses, bicycles, motorcyclists, or train drivers while driving with this product. The driver can be blinded and cause an accident. This also applies to persons or groups not listed if an accident could be caused by a possible glare.
– Do not shine directly into the eyes of people or animals, as this can damage the retina, impair vision and even lead to blindness.

Note: For lighting for photographic purposes only. Not suitable for permanent room lighting.

Disposal

Dispose of the packaging according to its type. Use the local possibilities for collecting paper, cardboard, and other materials. (Applicable in the European Union and other
European countries with systems for the separate collection of recyclable materials)
Devices that are marked with this symbol must not be disposed of with household waste! You are legally obliged to dispose of old devices separately from to dispose of household waste. Information on collection points that accept old appliances free of charge can be obtained from your local authority or town council.
