Pairing a Device with a Single Talon
The Talon app can be used to control the Talon using a device that is paired to the Talon with a Bluetooth connection. Before pairing the device with the Talon, the Talon app should first be successfully downloaded. You can confirm that the app was successfully downloaded by opening it on your device. Once confirmed, close the app to begin the pairing process.
NOTICE: Your device will only be able to connect to a Talon and be paired if the device Bluetooth is enabled. Your device will only be able to pair with a Bluetooth enabled Talon.

On the device you intend to pair with the Talon, turn Bluetooth “on”, and keep your device on that screen.

Retract the anchor on the Talon by pressing the Up button on the Indicator Panel.

Once the Talon is fully retracted, press and hold the Up button and the Down button simultaneously on the Indicator Panel. The Depth Indication LEDs will begin to flash blue. Once the LEDs are flashing, release the buttons on the Indicator Panel. The Talon will go into Pairing Mode for 30 seconds.

If on an Android device select the Scan button to begin the process on your device. On an iOS device, as soon as the Bluetooth menu is opened, the scan starts automatically. The Talon will appear on the list of available devices once it is recognized by the device.

Select the Talon from the list of available devices. This will pair the Talon to the device. Once you hear the beeps, the Talon is successfully paired.
NOTICE: When the device Bluetooth is scanning for the Talon, the Talon must be in Pairing Mode. If the Talon or the device time out, the process on both will need to be re-initiated. -
In order for the device and your Talon to stay connected, Bluetooth needs to remain “on”. Once the device is paired with the Talon, the device will connect and begin communicating with each other. When the Talon is paired to the device and communicating with it, the Talon app will automatically recognize that the Talon is paired.

If the pair is unsuccessful, repeat the process.
NOTICE: When a device is paired with the Talon, the paired device and Talon know each other. When a paired device and a Talon are connected they can actively communicate with each other. In order for the Talon App to detect the Talon, it needs to be paired and communicating with the Talon.
Pairing a Device with Two Talons
In order for the Talon App to pair two Talon’s to the device, the Talons fi rst need to be paired together. To learn how to pair two Talons together, read the ” Pairing Two Talons and Programming the Mounting Location” section of the Talon Manual. Once the Talons are paired together, follow the directions for “Pairing a Device with a Single Talon”. Only one Talon needs to be paired with the device where the Talon app is installed.
Forgetting a Talon on a Device
Once a device is paired to a Talon, it will remember the device, even if the device and the Talon are not actively communicating. In some cases, it may be necessary to clear the memory on the device and forget any paired Talons. To do this, use the Bluetooth settings on the device.

Open the Bluetooth settings on the device.

A list of paired devices will appear. The appearance of the list from an Android to an iOS device will look different.

On an Android device, select the Settings icon next to the device in the list of Paired Devices. When the next screen appears, fi nd the option to Un pair the device and select it.

On an iOS device, select the “i” icon next the the device in the list of My Devices. When the next Screen appears, fi nd the option to Forget this Device and select it.

Once the device is unpaired or forgotten, the device is no longer paired or communicating with the device and will not be visible to the Talon App or device.
Clearing Paired Remotes or Devices from the Talon
The Talon was designed so that all paired devices can be cleared from memory.
- Retract the anchor on the Talon by pressing the Up button.
- Turn the power to the Talon “off”.
NOTICE: This may require assistance from another person.
- While holding in the Up button on the Indicator Panel, restore power to the Talon. You will hear a long steady tone.
- After the steady tone stops, release the Up button. A series of fast beeps will be heard.
- The Talon memory is now clear of all previously paired devices.
Clearing Paired Talons from the Remote
The Remote was designed so that all paired Talons can be cleared from memory.
- Press and hold the Up button and the Down button on the Remote at the same time until the Talon Selection LEDs on the Remote begin to scroll, release the buttons. The Remote will go into Pairing Mode for 30 seconds. Once Pairing times out all Talons will be cleared.
NOTICE: Putting the Remote into Pairing Mode, even if it is accidental, without Paring the Remote to a Talon will clear all paired Talons.
