Important safety information

The appliance can be used by children older than 8 years of age as well as by people with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities and persons lacking experience and/or lacking knowledge if they are supervised or have received instructions on how to use the appliance safely and have understood the resulting risks.
Children must not play with the appliance.
Children must not clean or maintain the appliance unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised.
Keep the appliance and its connection cable out of reach of children under 8 years of age.
The appliance must not be operated via an external timer or remote control.
If the appliance’s power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or a similarly qualiﬁed person if hazards are to be avoided. Improper repair may put users at serious risk.
After using the appliance, clean all surfaces/parts which have come into contact with food and remove any food residues. Please follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and care” section.
This appliance is designed for use in households and similar environments, such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, ofﬁces and other working environments;
- Farmhouses;
- By guests at hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
- At bed-and-breakfast establishments. The appliance is not intended for purely commercial use.
Warning: risk of burns!! When the appliance is plugged in, its touchable surfaces can get very hot and they remain hot even after the appliance has been unplugged!
Caution, the fan keeps operating for some short time after switching off the appliance in order to cool down the housing. Please wait until the fan stops operating before plugging off the appliance.
The plate eject button should not be touched during normal use unless it is cool down to room temperature.
The appliance shall be operated in closed position only. It shall not be operated in open position in order to avoid the risk of scalding and excessive temperature.
Attention! Do not use the appliance near or under ﬂammable objects (e.g. curtains, wall cupboards) and always supervise it.
Caution! The appliance gets hot! Risk of burns! Do not transport the appliance when it is hot.
Do not leave the appliance unattended!
Make sure the cable is safely positioned both during and after use (to prevent tripping/pulling by toddlers, for example!)
Always use the appliance in accordance with these instructions. Improper use can result in electric shocks and other hazards.
Caution, please remove the plates only after switching off the appliance and only when the plates are fully cooled down.

Before use

The appliance may be used only for the intended purpose and in accordance with this instruction manual. You are therefore advised to read the manual carefully before use. It contains instructions for using, cleaning and looking after the appliance. We accept no liability for any damage caused by a failure to heed the instructions. Keep this instruction manual in a safe place and pass it on to any subsequent user together with the appliance.
The safety precautions must be observed during use.

Additional safety information

The appliance should be connected only to earthed wall sockets that have been installed in accordance with the regulations. The power cable and plug must be dry.
Do not pull or clamp the connection cable over sharp edges. Do not leave it dangling. Protect it from heat and oil.
Do not place the appliance on hot surfaces, such as on hotplates or similar areas, and do not operate near naked ﬂames.
Never pull the mains plug out of the socket by the cable or with wet hands.
Stop using the appliance and/or pull the mains plug out of the socket immediately if:
- The appliance or power cord is damaged
- you suspect that the device may be defective following a fall or similar incident.
- if malfunctions occur during use
- before cleaning
- after every use. In such cases, arrange for the appliance to be repaired.
Do not immerse the appliance in water.
We accept no liability for any damage caused as a result of misuse, incorrect operation or improper repairs. Warranty payments are also excluded in such cases.
The appliance is not intended for commercial use.
Do not cover the appliance.
Pull the mains plug out of the socket after use and open the appliance.
Leave the appliance to cool down before transporting it or putting it away.
Never clean the appliance and the cable in the dishwasher!
The connection cable must not come into contact with hot appliance parts!
Place the appliance on a ﬂat, solid surface.
Do not disassemble or open the appliance housing – there is a risk of electrocution!
Only operate the appliance with original accessories from WMF.
Never leave the appliance unattended when the mains plug is connected! While the appliance is in use and cooling down, make sure that other persons cannot accidentally touch it as this could cause burns!
Make sure the appliance is positioned on a secure, horizontal surface with plenty of clearance to the wall and other objects.
Remove all packaging material / ﬁlms / transport locks if applicable
Clean the parts with a soft cloth before ﬁrst use
With the windows open, heat the grill plates for the ﬁrst time for around 2-3 minutes each in order to remove any manufacturing residues. This could cause a slight smell, which is completely harmless.

Non-stick coating
Never touch the scratch-sensitive non-stick coating with sharp or pointed objects. Use a barbecue fork and tongs made of wood or synthetic material. When using your new appliance for the ﬁrst time there may be a little smoke or odour. This is for technical reasons and is perfectly normal.
Warning: After use, switch the appliance off using the on / off switch and pull the mains plug out of the socket.

Initial operation

Clean all the plates with a damp cloth and some washing-up liquid before using the appliance for the ﬁrst time. The plate set found in the appliance can be removed using the square push buttons.
Select the plate set you want, dry it carefully and place it in the appliance.
Insert the plate guides on the respective plate halves in the designated appliance slots at an angle of approx. 30°.
Note: Please note that the wafﬂe plate with the wide guides may only be inserted in the top half of the appliance. The panini plates can be inserted in either the top or the bottom half. After inserting the plates, press them downwards until you hear them lock into place.
Note: Both plate halves must be inserted, otherwise the appliance does not work properly.
Brush the plates with a few drops of oil.
Connect the mains plug to an earthed wall socket.
Switch the appliance on at the on/off switch to heat it up. The indicator light glows red.
The indicator light changes colour from red to white as soon as the optimum temperature is reached.
Note: There may be a slight odour the ﬁrst time you use your new appliance. This is for technical reasons and is perfectly normal.
Push the button on the inside of the handle up to open the appliance.
Load the plate and close the appliance.
Useful tip: When preparing wafﬂes, remember that the dough can still rise during baking, depending on the recipe. Fill the plates the ﬁrst time intentionally with less dough, and never the plate edge, in order to be able to estimate the expansion volume better. Depending on the amount of ﬁlling, the lid clicks into place one or two times.
Caution: For the preparation of wafﬂes the lid should only be put on. If you still snap the lid into place, there is a risk that the dough will be pushed out of the mould, as the dough may still rise during baking, depending on the recipe.
Note: Do not eat the ﬁrst wafﬂe cooked in the new appliance.
After a short time, the red indicator light comes on again to show that the appliance is heating up.
Open the appliance and remove the snacks as soon as they reach the desired browning level. Tips for successful paninis
It is advisable to have all the ingredients ready before you begin toasting. You can also prepare a certain number of paninis in advance in order to reduce the waiting time.
All ﬂat bread slices, but preferably tramezzini, can be used as long as they ﬁt on the plates.
The toasting time depends on the moisture content of the bread and the type of ﬁlling used.
Check that the sandwiches are toasting according to your taste.
Remove the paninis using a wooden spatula, in order to protect the coating.
Panini recipe idea:

Mediterranean panini
Ingredients:
2 slices of tramezzini bread (toast bread or thin slices of white bread can also be used)
2 tbsp. butter
250 g rocket
2 dried tomato slices
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 slices of mozzarella
4 tbsp. rocket pesto
100 g Serrano ham
Salt, pepper

Preparation:
Trim the slices of bread to ﬁt the plates and spread butter on one half. Wash the rocket, remove the hard stems, shake dry and then distribute evenly on the bread slice, together with the Serrano ham. Place the tomato and mozzarella slices on the bread and spread a little pesto on the mozzarella slices. Position the top slice of bread, press it down and toast the panini in the Lono Snack Master Pro.

Tips for successful wafﬂes
All the baking ingredients should be at room temperature before you prepare the batter. Pour the batter into the baking mould quickly, otherwise the wafﬂe will be different shades of brown on the top and bottom. The colour of your wafﬂe will be uneven and patchy if you do not add enough batter. Add the batter for your next wafﬂe immediately after removing the ﬁnished one to achieve the best baking results. Place the ﬁnished wafﬂes on a wire rack to keep them crispy. Wafﬂes go soft quickly when stacked.

Wafﬂe recipe:
Basic recipe
Ingredients:
80 g butter
60 g sugar
1 sachet vanilla sugar
3 eggs
3/8 l milk
300 g ﬂour
½ sachet baking powder
Rum to taste
Powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation:
Beat butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs until ﬂuffy. Alternating with milk, gradually add the sieved ﬂour mixed with baking powder. Add less milk and more rum to taste. Always add the liquid in such a quantity that the batter is thick. Dust with icing sugar before serving.

Cleaning and care

After use, remove the mains plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
Remove fat or other residue from the plates with a piece of kitchen roll.
Never immerse the appliance in water or clean it under running water.
Only wipe the casing with a damp cloth and then dry it.
When cooled, remove the plate by pressing the push buttons. Clean the plates with a soft brush, or in lukewarm water with a little washing-up liquid.
Note: Do not use abrasives, metal scourers or oven cleaner. For stubborn dirt or to make cleaning easier, you can also clean the plates in the dishwasher. But we advise washing the plates by hand to increase their service life or to ensure that the coating is handled carefully.
Under no circumstances should you use sharp or hard objects on the plates with a non-stick coating, as these could damage the coating.
The cable can be wound on the underside of the appliance to save space during storage.

For UK use only

This product is supplied with a 13 A plug conforming to BS 1363 ﬁtted to the mains lead. If the plug is unsuitable for your socket outlets or needs to be replaced, please note the following. If the plug is a non-rewireable one, cut it from the mains lead and immediately dispose of it. Never insert
it into a socket outlet as there is a very great risk of an electric shock.
The replacement of the plug at the mains lead has to be done according to the following instructions:

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

  * the wire which is coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol , or coloured green or green and yellow,
  * the wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked the letter N or coloured black,
  * the wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used it must be ﬁtted with a 13 A fuse conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved. If any other type of plug is used, the appliance must be protected by a 10 A fuse either in the plug or adapter or at the distribution board. If in doubt – consult a qualiﬁed electrician.
Never use the plug without closing the fuse cover.

The appliance complies with European directives 2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU and 2009/125/EU.

At the end of its life, this product may not be disposed of in normal household waste, but must instead be taken to a collection point for recycling electrical and electronic appliances.
The materials are recyclable in accordance with their labelling. Reuse, recycling and other ways of reutilising old appliances make an important contribution to protecting our environment.
Please ask your local authorities for information about the appropriate disposal point.
End users are personally responsible for deleting any personal data that may be stored on appliances they are disposing of.
