Compared with the WMF Stelio egg cooker.

Tested by technikzuhause.de. The resources saved relate to the materials used and transport volume. The energy saved was measured on the basis of cooking one egg (medium).

Measuring jug
The measuring jug with integrated egg piercer (6) is made of high-quality Tritan® and is BPA-free. The water volumes indicated on the measuring jug (6) are guidelines. Deviations may occur due to the size, storage time and temperature of the egg. The hardness of the water also influences the cooking process.

The symbols for the different levels of hardness of the boiled eggs are indicated on the measuring jug:

  • Hard-boiled egg
  • Medium egg
  • Soft-boiled egg

Safety system
If the egg boiler is operated accidentally without water, a thermostat switches the appliance off to protect it from overheating. You must allow the egg boiler to cool down before you operate it again.
Should the first thermostat malfunction due to improper use, an additional temperature limiter provides reliable protection.

Cleaning and care

Cleaning
Unplug the mains cord and allow the appliance to cool down. Do not immerse the appliance in water, but rather clean it using a damp cloth with a little washing-up liquid and then dry it. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents. The heating bowl (3) is made of stainless steel. If rust spots do appear, however, they are merely deposits that have formed on the surface. They should be removed immediately with a stainless steel cleanser. The egg insert (2) and cover (1) are dishwasher-safe.

Descaling
Limescale deposits lead to energy loss and adversely affect the lifespan of the appliance as well as the cooking results. The appliance switches off prematurely if the layer of limescale is too thick. The limescale is then very difficult to remove.

Therefore descale the appliance regularly.

  • Prior to descaling, unplug the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down.
  • Pour the descaling agent into the heating bowl (3) and leave the appliance to stand until the limescale has detached from the base.
  • Then pour out the water and rinse thoroughly with cold tap water.

Do not heat the solution during the descaling.

Caution: the warranty does not cover damage caused by failure to observe the descaling instructions.
