Welcome to the World of LiteHawk!
Welcome aboard, this is your new LITEHAWK REO! Before we get ready for your
first aerial adventure, let’s cover the basics together!
Attempting to fly your LITEHAWK REO without completely reading the manual may
cause injury to yourself and people in the vicinity, as well as damage to the
RC model. Please read the Instruction Manual thoroughly before taking your
first flight.
LITEHAWK REO – 2.4 Ghz
Your LiteHawk comes with a 2.4 Ghz radio system, which allows you to play
without the fear of ever losing control! The range of your model is
approximately 100ft which, due to its small size, is in excess of normal
vision. The farther the model goes away from you the smaller it will become
and the harder it will be to determine the model’s direction. The app has 100
ft range.
Your 2.4 Ghz radio has a further range than the mobile app, reaching 250ft.
Flying with the app is not neccessary, and is designed to access the onboard
camera. If you lose connection to your mobile app while flying, don’t be
alarmed. You will not lose connection from your controller to your drone.
Make sure to check your Local Laws and Warnings!
LiteHawk REO is Ultra Lightweight, tipping the scales at just 106grams! No
licence or registration enrollment required! Please fly responsibly. Make sure
to check your local drone regulations and approved flying zones. Before you
begin piloting new LiteHawk REO, make sure to check your local drone laws and
regulations. Many provinces, states, cities or jurisdictions have different
flight regulations and specified areas where you can fly.
It’s good to do some research before flying, as where we are flying may have
different laws than our neighbouring city. Keeping respect and privacy for
others around us when we play is of prime importance.
REO’s Video Camera
Your REO comes equipped with a specialty camera! The video resolution is 2160
x 1080. Photo resolution is 4096 x 2160 for both cameras.
The app and/or mobile device are not required to fly. The app and mobile
device are only needed if you wish to take photos and video with the onboard
camera. If you lose connection to your mobile hotspot, you will still be able
to fly your drone with your controller. The controller range is farther than
the hotspot range. To utilize this feature, you must use an apple or android
device and download the app below.
How to charge the LITEHAWK REO
Your LITEHAWK REO comes with a LiPo battery. The rechargeable Li-Po battery provides the power to propel your model at high speeds. You should expect 7 – 10 min run time. However you do need to make sure to properly maintain your Li-Po Battery.
- Li-Po batteries don’t like to be run down too low. If the voltage is dropped dramatically they will be damaged and will not recharge! Once the model starts to slow, land your model at a safe place, walk over and turn it off.
- It is recommend to charge the battery after your run and to always store the battery with a charge. Never discharge or dead short a Li-Po battery!
Always have your model turned off when not in use, and battery is unplugged from the drone.
- 1/ Plug your USB charger into a USB port.
- 2/ Connect the USB charger to the battery. A red light will turn on.
- 3/ When the battery is charged, the light will turn off. Charging takes around 120 minutes. Tip: If storing for more than 24 hours it is best to store with a fully charged battery. Failure to do so can damage the battery pack and shorten its useful life.
During charging:
- It is normal for the battery to get warm during the charging process. Do not charge the battery on a surface that is flammable (a fabric, couch, bed, etc.) or can be damaged by heat. – Do not charge the battery underwater.
- Do not leave the battery and charger unattended while charging.
- After charging, unplug charger from model.
- Do not store the model plugged into the charger.
How To Sync
- 1/ Make sure the model is turned Off and locate a flat level surface.
- 2/ Place the LITEHAWK REO on the flat surface. Turn the LITEHAWK REO On, by holding the power button for 3 seconds.
- 3/ Turn on the power for the controller.
- 4/ Move the left control stick (this is also the throttle stick) all the way up, then all the way down. You will hear a beep. The model is now bound.
The LITEHAWK REO MUST be on a flat level surface in order to digitally self- level itself, otherwise, the model will not sync to the controller.
LITEHAWK REO – First Flight
Power on your REO first (making sure it is on a level, flat surface), and then
your controller. Sync your drone by pushing up all the way on the control
stick and then all the way down.
Press the AUTO button and the drone will lift and hover about 3 feet from the
ground. Repeat this process, lift off gently and then land again, until you
have a good feel for how much throttle is required to keep the model in the
air. Try keeping it in the air a little longer – don’t worry about turning –
all we care about right now is that the model stays at a steady comfortable
height. If the model drifts too far, ease off the throttle and land it.
When heading out to fly your model, it’s important to always use common sense.
Do not fly in the following places: Near crowds or high voltage, near any
obstacles, wind 00 speeds over C (3mph), thunder, rain, snow, densely
populated areas or between high buildings.
- Ensure nothing prevents the smooth running of moving parts.
- Do not dismantle or tamper with this R/C product or its transmitter. The manufacturer and distributor will accept no responsibility, expressed or implied, for accidents or injuries caused as a result of disassembly, modification and/or usage against the instructions for m :::::, this product.
- Ensure that all batteries are correctly installed and that the Li-Po battery is fully charged and in good condition.
- Do not touch ANY moving parts during operation
