Thank you for purchasing the KA1 Smart speaker. The KA1 is a voice-activated speaker with Android TV and Google Assistant built-in. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read this manual, which describes the product and includes step-by-step instructions to help you set up and get started. If you have any questions about this product, the installation or the operation, please contact your retailer or customer service.

1. Touch this area to decrease the volume.

BT Voice Remote control

Before you begin, locate the 2 AAA batteries. Insert the 2 AAA batteries into the KA1 Remote control.

Get Started

Connect the device to your TV

1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port of the TV, and the other end to the HDMI OUT port of the KA1 device, and plug the power adapter connector into the DC IN port.

2. Plug the power adapter into an A/C power outlet.

3. Turn on your TV, then press the TV’s Input or Source button to select the HDMI input that the KA1 is connected to. The remote control pairing screen is displayed on your TV.

BT Voice remote control pairing

Press and hold the VOL- and OK button on the remote control until the indicator on the remote control flashes. After the pairing is successful, it will automatically exit this menu.

Connect to network

Ethernet settings
Insert the network cable into the LAN port of the KA1 Speaker and the network will automatically connect.

Wi-Fi settings

When using WIFI connection, you need to confirm that the KA1 is not connected to the wired network. If it is connected by the network cable, you need to unplug it first, then select the WIFI and enter the password to connect.

Sign in to your Google account

To use Google Assistant, Google play store, you must sign in to your Google Account.

Talking to Google Assistant

Your KA1 comes with the Google Assistant built-in. You can ask the KA1 to play your favorite video or music, get the answer and easily control smart devices around your home by using your voice.

Activate the hotword

Just start by saying ‘Ok Google’ or ‘Hey Google’, then ask it questions or tell it to do things. Use it anytime:

For example

• ‘Play some music’
• ‘Turn up the volume’
• ‘What‘s the weather like in new York?’

The LEDs on the top of your speaker are white while it recording your question.

You can also press the button on the remote control to activate the Google Assistant and follow your request with your voice (no need to say the hotword after press the button). The KA1 will respond accordingly.

Control smart devices

Use the Google home app to add smart devices by your mobile phone or tablet. Then log in the same Google account on the KA1 speaker. Any device that works with Google Assistant can be controlled through a KA1 Speaker. Learn more about how to add a smart device can do at: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9159862

Play video or music with Chromecast

With Chromecast built into your KA1, you can cast videos/music/ iTunes /podcasts /playlists from thousands of apps to your KA1 by simply tapping the cast button.
You can find Chromecast enable apps at https://www.google.com/chromecast /built-in/apps/

1. Connect your mobile phone/tablet or laptop to the same network with KA1.
2. Run the Chromecast-enabled app on your devices.
3. Tap the icon on the app and select the KA1.
4. Tap “Play” in the app.

Play music via Bluetooth

From the home screen, go to Settings – Remotes & accessories -Add Device menu to Connect phone for Bluetooth audio. Open the player application on your phone and click the music you want to play, your KA1 will now be discoverable as a Bluetooth audio device.

NOTES:

• The Bluetooth connection will be lost if the distance between the KA1 and Bluetooth device exceeds 33ft (10m).
• Electronic devices may cause radio interference. Devices that generate electromagnetic waves must be kept away from the KA1 main unit, like (such as) microwaves, wireless LAN devices, etc.

Live TV

The KA1 device can watch live TV programs, and there are 3 ways to add live TV programs:

1. Digital TV ( DVB-T/T2/DVB-C)
2. Streaming TV (M3U8)
3. Get more sources ( Browse apps that offer live channels from Google Play Store )

Digital TV

Click “Digital TV” via OK key in “Set up your sources” page, and then select the type to be used from DVBT/T2 or DVB C to perform automatic program search.

Some usage methods when watching digital TV:

1. Press OK Button in RCU can check channel options when play program.

2. Press Left Button in RCU can show channel list when play program.

3. Press Right Button in RCU can show Settings menu when play program.

4. The function of the “Red, Green, Yellow, Blue” buttons when playing digital TV programs is “PVR recording, EPG, and “multi-audio, subtitles”.

Streaming TV

Press Right Button during Digital TV play program to open the Settings menu, choose “Channel sources” ,it’ll jump to “Set up your sources” page after clicking “Channel sources”, choose “Streaming TV” and press OK Button.

Notice: Streaming TV only supports importing external storage .m3u/.m3u8 files.
Prepare the .m3u/.m3u8 files and copy them to the root directory of the external storage, connect the external storage to the device, Streaming TV will get the .m3u/.m3u8 files from the external storage, check the required m3u files, and click IMPORT to wait for the data to be imported.

Get more sources

Select “Get more sources”, it’ll be redirected to Google Play Store which lists different recommended apps according to different regions, such as “Pluto TV, Haystack News, etc.”. Installing the APK will import the programs of it in the Live TV list.

Setup system&Voice input language

Open Settings-Device Preferences-Language to select system language and voice input language.

Factory data reset

Open “Settings-Device Preferences-Reset”, be carefully to do this, after factory data reset, all data will be erased.

Firmware Update

Run the update app,select OTA update, the device will detect and update to the latest version.

Does Google Assistant speaker answer to foreign languages?| Google Assistant is not available install languages. You can set your preferred language during setup in the Google Home app. Only one language can be set at a time.
Can I plug this speaker in and use it in other countries?| The power adapter senses voltage and supports 110-240V. All you need is the appropriate plug adapter. However, some apps may not be supported in other countries.
Which smart gadgets does this speaker work with?| Google Home currently supports Nest. Smart Things. Philips Hue. IFTTT for smart home devices. and more to come. To control these smart gadgets. you will need to setup your speaker, purchase, and setup a hub. and Purchase and setup smart gadgets. See the instructions manual that comes with your
purchased hub or smart gadget for more information.
How many speakers are in this device?| This device has two speakers.
What is the speaker wattage?| This speaker’s wattage is lOW
How far away can this speaker pick up voice?| Inaquietroomanaverage- volumevoice.GoogleAssistantcanbetriggeredwithin20 feet. As volume increases in the room. you must be closer to activate Google Assistant.
Can others use this speaker?| Yes. The voice detection is not tied to a specific person.
Can you change the speaker% Hot Word from -Ok Google”?| No. You cannot change the Hot Word, but you may use “Hey Google” as an alternate Hot Word.
Does this speaker record information?| When you wake up the speaker via pressing and holding the Play/Pause button or by saying -0K Google” or -Hey Google.” the speaker will submit any thing that is spoken as a Google search. These submissions are recorded and can be viewed online. You can delete anything or everything you’ve said from your history.
How do I turn this speaker on and off?| In the working state. press the Power button on the remote control to put the speaker on standby. and press it again to return to the working state.
Can this speaker use multiple services simultaneously?| No. You can only use on eservice at a time.

Troubleshooting :

Under no circumstances should you try to repair the speaker by yourself, as this will invalidate the warranty. Do not open it as there is a risk of electric shock. If any fault occurs, please firstly check with below listed points before talking to device to repair. If you are unable to remedy a problem by following list, contact your dealer for help.

WIFI disconnection| 1. Confirm if WiFi can be opened for use. If you can’t open it. please restart and try again. or failed. please contact the seller for help.
2. WiFi can not be connected when open. please restart the router device and try to connect for another time.
3. Send a WIFI hotspot with your mobile phone to see if the device can be connected.
4. The device will automatically disconnect the WIFI connection when connected to a wired network.
Unable to use voice function| 1 .Confirm if the remote control matches successfully in the setup menu.
2. See if the machine is connected to the network. Please play Youtube video to confirm that the network is normal.
3. Refer to the correct operation of the remote control voice.
The remote control does not respond sometimes| 1. Please replace the battery and try again.
2. Please confirm that the use distance is within 6 meters.
3. Confirm if the remote control matches successfully in the setup menu.
The contents of the USB flash drive cannot be read| Please contact the seller directly.
Play video without sound| • The USB flash drive format is not compatible with the speaker.
• If one of the USB can not be read. please turn off the speaker for 30 seconds and restart the speaker .
Slow operation of the USB flash drive| • Big file size or high resolution USB flash drive takes longer time to read and display on the TV screen.
No sound with HDMI connection| • Check the connection between the TV and the HDTV jack of speaker.
• Check your TV system setup. -Check the volume.
The TV screen Is blank and the player LED is blinking| • Turn off your speaker , wait 30 seconds, turn it on again.
• If under HDTV status. check if HDTV connection is correct or change another HDTV cable. set the output resolution of this speaker into 720p.

Tips

• Keep a minimum of 10cm clearance around the device, do not cover newspapers or other items.
• The equipment must not be exposed to water droplets or water splashes. Objects such as vases filled with liquids must not be placed on the machine.
• Keep the product away from moisture, exposure, high temperatures,etc.,away from magnetic objects.
• Avoid scratching the case and the interface, and prevent damage due tofalling, throwing, or strong impact.
