USER MANUAL
BEFORE BEGINNING
1.1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Tesla Smart Air Conditioner AC500 portable air conditioner is a great
cooling solution for creating a comfortable atmosphere in individual rooms. Is
also has a ventilation, heating and dehumidification function to circulate air
and remove moisture. This is a self-contained device that requires no
permanent installation, which means that you can move it to where you need it
the most. These devices are commonly used in kitchens, temporary living areas,
computer rooms, garages, and many other places where the installation of an
outdoor air conditioning unit is limited. It uses the environmentally friendly
R290 refrigerant. R290 has no harmful effect on the ozone layer (ODP), has a
negligible greenhouse effect (GWP), and is available worldwide. The efficient
energy properties of R290 make it a very suitable refrigerant for this
application. Due to the high flammability of the coolant, however, special
precautions must be taken.
1.2 SYMBOLS
This device uses flammable refrigerant.
If the refrigerant escapes and comes into contact with a fire or heating
element, harmful gas is produced and there is a risk of fire.
Read the USER MANUAL carefully before starting operation.

2.2 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DURING SERVICING
When servicing a device with R290, observe the following warnings.
2.2.1 Checking the area
Safety checks must be carried out before work is started on systems containing
flammable refrigerants to ensure that the risk of fire is minimised. When
repairing the refrigeration system, the following safety precautions must be
observed before work on the system begins.
2.2.2 Workflow
The work must be carried out in a controlled manner so as to minimise the risk
of flammable gas or vapour being present when the work is carried out.
2.2.3 General workspace
All maintenance personnel and others working in the local area must be briefed
on the nature of the work to be carried out. Avoid working in confined spaces.
The surroundings of the work area must be separated. Ensure that conditions in
the area are safe by checking for combustible material.
2.2.4 Checking the presence of refrigerant
Before and during the work, the area must be checked with a suitable
refrigerant detector to ensure that the technician is aware of a potentially
flammable environment. Ensure that the leak detection device used is suitable
for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. non-sparking, sufficiently sealed,
or intrinsically safe.
2.2.5 Presence of a fire extinguisher
If any hot work is to be carried out on the refrigeration plant or its
associated parts, suitable fire-fighting equipment must be provided. Keep a
dry powder or CO2 extinguisher near the charging point.
2.2.6 No ignition sources
No person carrying out work in connection with a refrigeration system which
involves the exposure of any pipework which contains or has contained
flammable refrigerant shall use any source of ignition in such a way as to
create a fire or explosion hazard. All possible sources of ignition, including
cigarette smoking, must be kept well away from installation, repair, removal,
and disposal operations that may result in the possible release of flammable
refrigerant into the surrounding area. Before work commences, the surroundings
of the installation should be inspected to ensure that there is no risk of
ignition or flame.
2.2.7 Ventilated space
Before entering the system or carrying out any hot work, make sure the area is
open or sufficiently ventilated. Some degree of ventilation must be maintained
throughout the duration of the work. Ventilation should safely disperse any
released refrigerant and preferably vent it to the atmosphere.
2.2.8 Checking the refrigeration device
If electrical components are changed, they must be suitable for the purpose
and conform to the correct specification.
The manufacturer‘s instructions for maintenance and service must always be
followed. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer‘s technical department for
assistance.
For device using flammable refrigerants, the following checks must be carried
out:
– The size of the charge must correspond to the size of the room in which the
refrigerant-containing parts are installed;
– Ventilation devices and outlets are in proper operation and are not blocked;
– If an indirect cooling circuit is used, the presence of refrigerant in the
secondary circuit is checked;
– The device marking is still visible and legible. Markings and signs that are
illegible shall be corrected;
– Refrigerant piping or components shall be installed in a position where they
are unlikely to be exposed to any substances which may cause corrosion of the
components containing the refrigerant, unless the components are made of
materials which are inherently corrosion resistant or suitably protected
against corrosion.
2.2.9 Inspections of electrical equipment
Repair and maintenance of electrical components shall include initial safety
checks and component inspection procedures.
If there is a fault that could compromise safety, no electrical supply shall
be connected to the circuit until it has been satisfactorily rectified. If the
fault cannot be rectified immediately but operation must continue, a suitable
temporary solution shall be used. This shall be communicated to the owner of
the facility so that all parties are informed.
Initial security checks must include:
– Discharging capacitors: must be done in a safe manner to avoid the
possibility of sparking;
– No live electrical components or lines are exposed when charging, restoring,
or cleaning the system;
– Ground continuity must be ensured.

The defrost control sequence is as follows:
A. When the device is operating in cooling or drying mode, the ambient
temperature sensor detects that the evaporator temperature is below -1 °C;
after the compressor stops working for 10 minutes or the evaporator
temperature rises to 7 °C, the device will restart in cooling mode.
B. When the device is operating in drying mode, when the coil temperature
sensor detects that the evaporator temperature is below 40 °C and the
temperature difference between the coil temperature and the room temperature
is below 19 °C, after the compressor has been running for 20 minutes, the unit
will start defrosting for 5 minutes and the power indicator will flash.
5.3.5 Overload protection
In the event of a power failure, there is a 3 minute delay until the
compressor restarts to protect the compressor.
5.4 DRAINAGE
5.4.1 Manual drainage
-
When the device stops after filling with water, unplug the plug from the socket.
Note: Handle the device carefully to avoid spilling water in the water tank at the bottom of the device. -
Place the water tank under the side water outlet.
-
Remove the plug from the socket; the water will automatically flow into the water container.
Notes:
The unit may be slightly tilted backwards during the water discharge.
If the water container cannot hold all the water, plug the water outlet as soon as possible before it‘s filled to prevent water from spilling onto the floor or carpet. -
After draining the water, plug the water stopper.
Note: After installing the water plug and drain cover, restart the device to prevent condensed water from flowing out of the device onto the floor or carpet.
5.4.2 Continuous drainage
The self-evaporating system uses the collected water to cool the condenser
coils, ensuring higher efficiency. The drain tank does not need to be emptied
in refrigeration operation, except in drying operation and high humidity
conditions.
The condensed water is evaporated in the condenser and discharged through a
hose.
For continuous operation or unattended operation in drying operation, connect
the supplied drain hose to the device.
The condensed water can automatically drain into a bucket.
Remove the drain plug and store it in a safe place.
Connect the drain hose securely and properly and make sure it is not bent or
in the way.
Place the hose outlet over the drain hole or bucket and ensure that water can
flow freely from the device.
Do not immerse the end of the hose in water.
To prevent water spillage:
– Since the vacuum in the condensate drain tray is high, tilt the drain hose
downwards towards the floor. It is advisable that the degree of slope exceeds
20 degrees.
– Straighten the hose to prevent water from getting trapped in the hose.
CLEANING
6.1. AIR FILTER CLEANING (every two weeks)
Dust accumulates on the filter and restricts airflow. Restricted air flow
reduces the efficiency of the system and can damage the device if it becomes
blocked.
The air filter requires regular cleaning. The air filter is removable for easy
cleaning. Do not use the device without an air filter, otherwise the
evaporator may become dirty.
- Press the POWER button to turn off the device and disconnect the power cord.
- Remove the filter mesh from the device.
- Use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum the dust from the filter.
- Turn the filter over and rinse the air filter under running water. Let the water flow through the filter in the opposite direction of the air flow. Set aside and allow the filter to dry completely before reinstalling.
Switch off the device and remove the air filters.
Rinse the air filter under running water.
Warning!!!
Do not touch the surface of the evaporator with your bare hand to prevent
injury to your fingers.
6.2. REFRIGERANT CLEANING
General measures:
- The gas/vapour is heavier than air. It may accumulate in confined spaces, particularly at or below ground level.
- Remove all possible sources of ignition.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Evacuate unnecessary personnel, isolate and ventilate the area.
- Avoid contact between refrigerant and eyes, skin, and clothing. Do not breathe the fumes or gas.
- Avoid releasing it into sewers and public waters.
- Stop the source of the leak if it is safe to do so. Consider using a water spray to disperse fumes.
- Isolate the area until the gas dissipates. Before entering the space, ventilate it and perform a gas test.
