Dear Customer,
Thank you for buying SMX 5700.
Please read this manual carefully before activating the appliance and keep it
for future reference.
It’ll be helpful if you encounter any functioning problems.
Conformity Declaration
The Manufacturer declares under his own responsibility that the appliance
subject of this Instructions manual complies with what is prescribed in the EC
Directive about appliances for household use.
To improve the product and/or for construction needs, the manufacturer
reserves the right to make technological, aesthetic, and dimensional changes
without prior notice.

This appliance is in compliance with all the standards related to
electromagnetic fields (EMF). If used properly, following what is indicated in
this instructions manual, the appliance allows a safe use, as confirmed by the
scientific results currently available.
This appliance is in compliance with directives 2014/30/EU, 2014/35/EU, and
2011/65/EU
GENERAL WARNINGS
Meaning of the warning indications in the manual
DANGER: Indicates a situation of imminent danger that, if not avoided,
could cause serious injuries or even death. The use of this term is limited to
the most extreme situations.
ATTENTION: Indicates a potentially dangerous situation that, if not
avoided, could cause serious injuries (and in extreme cases death).
WARNING: Indicates a potentially dangerous situation that, if not
avoided, could cause minor or moderate injuries to people or to the appliance.
Moreover, it indicates incorrect operating procedures to the user.
Warnings related to safety essential before use
**** Carefully read the instructions in this booklet, as they provide
important information about safe installation, use, and maintenance.
Keep this booklet with care for future reference.
- Before using the appliance, make sure that it is in perfect working order from a mechanical standpoint.
All of the components should report no scratches or parting.
The sheath and the plug of the power cord should report no scratches or
parting.
If so, immediately unplug the appliance from the mains outlet and take it to
an authorized Customer Service Centre for necessary checking.
- All packing elements (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, etc.) are potentially dangerous and should be kept out of the reach of children.
This appliance can be used by children of 8 years of age or more and by people
with reduced physical, sensory or mental faculties as well as people without
the necessary
experience or knowledge of it ONLY if monitored by someone responsible for
their safety or if they’ve been educated about the safe use of the appliance
and if they are aware of the risks originating from improper use. Children
must not use the appliance as a toy and must not either clean or use the
appliance alone unless they’re of 8 years of age or more and they’re assisted
by an adult. Keep children less than 8 years old away from the appliance and
from the power cord.

Before starting it make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the one indicated on the rating label. The label is placed on the bottom of the appliance.

For your safety, we recommend to power the appliance by means of a differential circuit-breaker (RCD) with an operating current of no more than 30 mA.

Should the wall outlets and the unit plug be incompatible with each other, have the wall outlet replaced by an appropriate one by a qualified electrician.
He, in particular, shall also make sure the cross-section of the wires corresponds to the absorbed power of the appliance.
Generally, adapters, multiple sockets, and/or extension cables should not be used.
However, if necessary, only use single or multiple adapters and extension cables, which comply with existing safety standards, making sure however that the current carrying capacity limits, marked on the single adapter and on the extension cables, as well as the maximum power limit marked on the multiple adapters, are not exceeded. -
The use of any electric appliance involves compliance with certain basic rules.
In particular:
– never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands;
– never use the appliance with bare feet;
– never pull the power cord or the appliance to remove the plug from the wall socket.
– never leave the appliance outdoors where it can be exposed to the weather conditions (rain, such, etc.);
– never let children or disabled persons use the appliance unattended. -
Turn off the appliance and do not tamper with it in any way if it becomes faulty and/or operates in an incorrect way. Repairs must only be carried out by a customer service center authorized by the manufacturer. Always insist on genuine spare parts.
Failure to comply with this recommendation could impair the safety of the appliance. -
Should you decide to stop using an appliance of this type, remember to render it unusable by cutting off the power cable after having removed the plug from the power socket.
Also make sure that all parts of the appliance liable to constitute a danger are made harmless, particularly for children who could decide to use an old appliance as a toy.
The installation must be carried out following the manufacturer’s instructions. A wrong installation could cause damages to people, animals or things, for which the manufacturer cannot be considered liable. -
To avoid dangerous overheating, straighten the whole power cord and use the appliance as advised in the “USE” paragraph is recommended.

Do not leave the appliance unnecessarily inserted.
Disconnect the plug from the main power supply when the appliance is not used. -
Do not obstruct the ventilation and heat elimination openings or fissures.

If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be changed exclusively by a technical assistance center authorized by the manufacturer, since special tools are necessary.
This appliance’s electrical safety is ensured only when the appliance itself is correctly connected to an efficient grounding system as required by the current electrical safety standards.
- It is necessary to check this fundamental safety condition and, in case of doubts, ask for an accurate system check from professionally qualified personnel.
The manufacturer cannot be considered liable for possible damages caused by the lack of grounding of the system.
- Before carrying out any operation turn off the appliance and disconnect the power plug from the outlet.
- Don’t connect the appliance to the power supply through external timers or remote control systems.
Make sure that the power cord doesn’t protrude from the bearing plane in order
to prevent someone from, even inadvertently, pulling it and toppling the
appliance.
Place the appliance on a horizontal and very stable bearing plane, whose
surface is not delicate (ex. lacquered furniture, tablecloths, etc.). Make
sure that the appliance is safely supported.
Do not obstruct the cooling grids.
Place the appliance far from sinks and taps.
During functioning, the power outlet must be easily accessible if it’s
necessary to disconnect the appliance. Do not place the appliance under a
power outlet.
Keep the power cord away from the appliance hot parts.
Do not place the working appliance against walls or under shelves, tables,
etc. Leave at least 20 cm around the appliance and 50 cm above.
- Leave the appliance cool down completely on site after use and before a possible displacement.
- Do not move the appliance when it’s functioning.
- Do not leave the appliance exposed to weathering (rain, sun, in moist places or near heat sources, etc.).
Never immerse the appliance in water.
Do not use the appliance in an environment filled with explosives, fuel
gasses, or inflammable liquids (varnishes, glues, spray cans, etc.).
EXPLOSION AND FIRE DANGER.
Check that there are no inflammable products nearby (es. drapes,
tapestries, etc.).

Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures and do not place it on hot surfaces like burners or on the stove.
-
The appliance has NOT been designed to be used under rain and must NOT be stored outside or in moist places.
-
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
Stables, stalls, granaries, porticoes, gazebos, balconies, or similar are considered outdoor uses and, for this reason, are not allowed. -
Before inserting the plug into the power socket, make sure that the appliance starting switch (4) is in “0” (off ) position. This precaution protects in case of an improper or unexpected appliance start.

Before starting the appliance, insert the desired accessory – hooks (11 or 12) or whisk (7) – in the appliance control shaft.
Lower the arm (2) to allow the accessory immersion in the bowl (10) filled with food. -
To avoid overheating, the appliance must not be kept continuously functional for:
– Kneading (KB max) 10 minutes.
– Whipping (KB max) 5 minutes.
– Blending (KB max) 2 minutes.
– Blender (KB max) 2 minutes.
– Meat grinder (KB max) 6 minutes.
Since it has to perform processing in sequence or in longer times, perform pauses of at least 20 minutes between the cycles reducing the continuous functioning time.
If the appliance is maintained functional for too long, it automatically
turns off. To turn the appliance back on, move the switch (4) back to
“0” and, subsequently, select the desired processing speed.
In the event that, even after performing what is described above, the
appliance doesn’t turn back on, it means that the thermal protector has
intervened. Move the switch (4) back to “0”, disconnect the plug from the
power socket and wait at least 30 minutes before turning the appliance
back on to let the motor cool down.
Do not exceed the bowl (10) maximum capacity of 5 Lt. when inserting the
ingredients.
Insert foods to blend in the glass (2) after cutting them into small pieces,
then add liquid paying attention to NEVER exceed the maximum capacity.
Never let the appliance work if it’s empty.
NEVER let the appliance work if the glass bender is empty; use the cover in
its place.
When the appliance is functioning NEVER put hands, forks, spoons, or
other utensils in the mixer cup (14) or in the channel (13) to remove
anything or intervene.
Do not insert fingers or other objects in the hooks (11 and 12) or in
the whisk (7) during their functioning. You could hurt yourself.

To remove food residues from the glass blender (14) use appropriate tools only.
Do not use fingers. -
Do not insert tools or metal objects in the refueling duct.
Before positioning or removing the cup (14), bowl (10), or channel (13) from
the motor base (1) make sure that the switch (4) is set to “0”.
Do not damage the blades (13a and 14a) while blending or processing hard
(coffee, shells, bones, ice, etc.) or frozen foods.
- Do not try to sharpen the blades, change the whole group if necessary.
The blades (13a and 14a) are very sharp; handle them carefully.
Do not use the cup (14), bowl (10), or channel (13) in a traditional or microwave oven.
- The appliance is equipped with safety switches that don’t allow to start the appliance if its components are not correctly placed.
- At the end of use always turn the appliance off and disconnect the plug from the power socket.
- At the end of each use always perform an accurate cleaning of all of its parts in contact with food, as indicated in the “CLEANING” paragraph.
- Before cleaning the appliance, always disconnect the plug from the socket and let it cool down.
- This product is intended for domestic use only. It has not been designed to be used in environments like (which are not covered by warranty):
– personnel service areas in shops; offices and in other work environments;
– farmhouses;
– for hotels, motels, and other residential environments customers;
– bed and breakfast-like environments
This appliance should be destined only for the purposes for which it
has been explicitly designed, namely to process food.
Every other use has to be considered improper and for this reason
dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for eventual damages
resulting from improper, wrong, and unreasonable uses.
Do not leave the appliance in the reach of children or incapable
persons while it’s working.
Do not leave the appliance unattended while it’s working.
- For eventual repairs refer to an authorized technical assistance center only and ask for original spare parts only. A failure to comply with what is said above could compromise the appliance’s correct functioning.
- To correctly store or move the appliance use the original packaging.

USE
First use
- Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all the packing materials and promotional tags.
- Clean all the components, except for the motor base, with hot water and a normal dish-washing detergent. Abundantly rinse and dry the components before using them.
Before use check that all the components are intact and they don’t report
cracking.
The blades (13a and 14a) are very sharp, use them very carefully.
- Clean the appliance body compartment with a wet cloth or a sponge.
**Never submerge the appliance body in water or in other liquids.
Use as mixer**
- Place the appliance on a plane, horizontal, clean, dry, stable and heat-resistant surface.
If the back cover of the appliance is not in place, the appliance will not
work.
DO NOT attempt to use this function while grinding or blending.

Place the mixing bowl in the base and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.
-
To raise the arm, press the release button (8), and at the same time lift the arm by gently pulling it up.
-
Place the lid (6) on the bowl and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.
-
Place the desired whisk on the output shaft, push the whisk against the spring gently and turn it until it locks into the lock.
-
Now put the ingredients in the bowl. Do not exceed the maximum allowable amount of ingredients, which is 1.1 kg.
-
Release the arm with the release button (8) while lowering it with slight pressure.
-
Insert the plug into the wall outlet.
-
Switch on the appliance and turn the speed control button (4) to select a speed between 1 and 5 (depending on the type of dough being prepared).
-
Pulse operation (kneading at short intervals): turn the speed control button to the“PULSE” position. When the switch is released, it automatically returns to the “OFF” position.
-
After mixing is complete, turn the speed control button (4) to the “OFF” position.
Then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
**** Turning the switch (4) to “0” and the inserted accessory will still perform some rotations before stopping to allow an easy arm
(2) raising. Do not insert your fingers until the accessory has completely stopped. -
Press the release button (8) and at the same time lift the arm by gently pulling it up.

The bowl can now be removed.
-
Remove the mixture from the bowl with a spatula.
-
Cleaning is described in the “Cleaning” chapter.

Do not exceed the maximum continuous operating time.
Leave the motor off for at least 20 minutes before using the appliance again.
Use as blender
- DO NOT attempt to use this function while grinding or mixing.
- Do not connect the appliance to the mains until the blender container is in the correct position.
- Remove the plug from the wall outlet before removing the container from the blender.
- To avoid spillage, do not exceed the volume of liquids.
- Warning: Never remove the lid from the blender container while blending.
- Do not use the blender for more than 2 minutes.

Remove the back cover (Fig. 1).
-
Place the food in the glass container.
-
Place the lid on the glass container.
-
Insert the measuring cup into the lid opening and turn it clockwise.
-
Place the blender container on the appliance and turn it counter-clockwise (Fig. 2).
-
Insert the plug into the wall outlet.
-
Set the speed control button to the desired position 5 or PULSE.
-
Switch off the appliance and unplug it.
-
Remove the measuring cup with the lid.
-
Remove stuck food from the inside of the container with a soft spatula.
When the appliance is functioning NEVER put hands, forks, spoons or other utensils in the mixer cup (14) or in the channel (13) to remove anything or intervene. -
To remove the blender container, turn it clockwise.
-
To remove the measuring cup, turn it counter-clockwise.
> Use as meat grinder
DO NOT attempt to use this function while blending or mixing.
1. Cut boneless meat into pieces. Approximately to the size of 20 × 20 × 60 mm so as to be easily inserted in the opening of the container.
2. Inserted food should not contain bones and other hard parts. Bones could cause the motor to stop. If the motor stops, stop the appliance immediately and unplug it. Remove the entire meat grinder assembly. If the motor stops automatically, eliminate the cause of the stop. After themotor has cooled down, it is possible to continue.
3. Switch the appliance on by pressing the speed control button (4) to the speed 5.
4. Place the food in the container exclusively using the stamper.
5. After grinding is completed, turn the speed control button (4) to the “OFF” position and remove the plug from the wall outlet.
6. Maximum grinding time is 5 min. in continuous operation.
Assembly instructions for grinder
- Remove the front cover (Fig. 3).
- Place and turn the grinder body counter-clockwise so that it clicks firmly into place (Fig. 4a and 4b).
- Place the meat container under the grinder.
- Place the container on the grinder body (Fig. 5).
- Insert the plug into the wall outlet.
- Set the speed control button to position 5. Then place the food in the container and push it into the container with the stamper.
- After use, switch off the appliance and unplug it.
- Press the grinder locking button (x). Turn the grinder clockwise and remove the entire grinder assembly (Fig. 6).
- Place back the front cover.
CLEANING
Before performing cleaning operations, always disconnect the plug from the mains power.
- For the motor, and body cleaning uses a damp cloth avoiding using abrasive detergents.
Never immerse the motor body in water or other liquids.
- Never wash the motor body in the dishwasher.
- The blades (13a and 14a) are very sharp; handle them carefully.
- The hooks (11 and 12), the whisk (7), the bowl (10), and the lid (6) cleaning can be performed with warm water and normal dishes detergents.
Never wash the motor body and all the other components in the dishwasher.
- The coloring which some parts of the appliance could assume once in contact with the foods (example: orange, when processing carrots), can be removed using a cloth soaked in cooking oil.
Before reinserting the power plug in the mains outlet make sure that the appliance and all of its components are completely dry and that the starting switch (4) is in the “0” position.
ENVIRONMENTAL DISCLOSURE / DISPOSAL AT END-OF-LIFE
“In compliance with the directive 2011/65/EU related to waste disposal (RoHS)
and with the Directive, 2012/19/EU (RAEE) on electronical and electric
equipment waste” the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the equipment nameplate
or on its batteries, indicates that the product and the batteries at the end
of their useful life must be collected separately from other waste. The user
should, therefore, take the product to an appropriate recycling center for
electrical and electronic waste, or hand it to the dealer when buying new
equipment. Dead batteries must be removed from the product, separately
collected, and delivered free of charge to an appropriate batteries collection
center provided by Municipalities and by shopping centers. For more
information please contact the Local Council or the Municipality. Proper
separate collection for the delivery of the equipment to the recycling, to
treatment and environmentally compatible disposal helps avoid possible
negative effects on the environment and health and promotes the reuse and/or
ecycling of materials that make up the equipment. Illegal dumping of the
product by the user involves the application of administrative sanctions
provided by current laws and regulations. Packaging waste must be
differentiated and taken to appropriate collection centers according to the
current laws on the territory on waste separate collection.
